My ipad 2 sounds is not working.

My ipad 2 sounds is not working i upgrade it to ios7 nothing seems to be a problem but after a few weeks my ipad sounds is gone. As in all sounds. Whe i use earphone it works. But when the speaker. Not. I tried all the tips that i read here. Nothing works. Please help me. Thanks..

Have you checked the Mute switch on the side ? If it shows orange/red , its ON
Do you have Do-Not-Disturb set on ?  If you can see a quarter moon icon near your battery indicator - its ON.

Does it work in any apps e.g. Music and Videos but not others ? If Music and Videos still have sound then have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the Music and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. The function that isn't on the side switch is set via the taskbar instead : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4085

  • My ipad sound is not working except when my head phone is connected

Plz help my ipad sound is not working but is when I put headphone.the sound comes when I activate Siri but otherwise no sound comes from ipad. the volume button is not workin but it used to. The slider thing to increase volume in the task bar is halfly gone means that dot is not there to increase volume

Check your settings. The iPads have a small switch on the right edge. It can be used as a rotation lock to keep the screen from automatically reorienting itself as you move around, but you need to have the tablet’s settings configured properly. That same switch, right above the volume buttons, can also be set to function instead as a mute button to silence certain types of audio.
If the switch is set to work as a mute button, you can change its purpose to “screen-rotation lock” by tapping the Settings icon on the home screen. On the Settings screen, tap General on the left side, and on the right side of the screen flick down to “Use Side Switch to.” Tap to select Lock Rotation or Mute to set the button’s function. Even if you set the side switch for your preferred use, you can still mute the Mini or lock the screen. Just double-click the Home button, and when the panel of apps appears along the bottom edge of the screen, flick the row from left to right with your finger. Tap the icon on the far left side of the row to either lock the iPad’s screen or mute the iPad’s alerts, notifications and sound effects. Music, podcasts and video are not muted unless you turn the volume all the way down.

  • My new iPad sound is not working after updating to ios 6.1

My new iPad sound not working after updating to ios 6.1. Headphones are working fine. I tried all the troubleshoot. can anyone know the answer, plz share with me

    Hi,
I have exactly the same issue as everyone above. I only get sound through the slider on the ringtone in settings and through my headphones. I do not get any sound anywhere else at all.
    I Have tried:
    - Updating to iOS 6.1.3
    -re starting the device
-checking that the device is not muted. My slider switch is set to mute rather than lock and is unmuted.
-going into general settings and reset all settings
-the device reset several times (waiting until I saw the all important apple logo)
-removing the last few apps I installed.
Nothing at all has worked, please help!

  • Ipad sounds is not working, for instance key board does not click anymore

My iPad's sounds are not all working properly.  For instance, I can watch video clips and hear everything, but some apps do not play sounds or when typing on the keyboard, no clicking.  The noise it typically makes when  you plug it in to charge is gone as is the click sound when opening the screen.  Can anyone provide any help or insight as to what may be causing this?  I have looked in settings/sounds and all is correct.
    thank you.

Is Settings > Sound > Keyboard Clicks ON?
Do a reset (Hold Sleep/Wake and Home buttons about 10 secs or more till Apple logo appears, ignore the Slide to Power Off that appears)
Note: You will not lose any data.

  • IPad sound games not working

My iPad sound works fine for video and music but on many games like angry birds and others there is no sound. Yes I made sure the games weren't on mute.

The games are not on mute, but system sounds on the pad are muted.  If you have the side switch set to mute(as oppoed to rotate) flip it and see it the sounds are back.  If you have the side swith set on rotation, then double tap the home button, swipe all the way to the left, and change the mute there.
The mute function only controls system sounds, not music or videos.  Some games use those sounds for game play.  You can be muted and never even notice in general usage, until you notice the lack of sounds from a game.

My ipad sound does not work, only when I put head phones in or using FaceTime.. Event if I use my head phone the sound is in and out. It's not locked on silent or anything. It's just not working, not my apps, music or videos. My ipad will just be completely silent. Then a weeks later the sound will decide to work then stop working later on or when I charge it

    (A) Reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
    (B) Swipe upwards from bottom of screen to launch Control Center. Make sure sound is not muted (tap the little bell)

aim tried to listen music my sound is not work yesterday was fine i don't get what is the problem
    i need help thanks

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430

To solve some sound problems, just follow these simple steps
    1. Go to Settings
    2. Tap on General
    3. Tap on Reset
    4. Tap on Reset All Settings
What this effectively does is to reset some of your Settings to factory default. It’s not a complete removal of settings. It removes all of your preferences for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Do No Disturb, Notifications, General, Sounds, Brightness & Wallpaper and Privacy. It doesn’t affect your data. All of your email accounts will remain intact, as well as any SMS text or iMessages.

  • HT201412 Sound works (songs) on Ipad 2 but sound on videos (example utube) sound does not work. Video plays with no issue.

Sound works (songs) on Ipad 2 but sound on videos (example utube) sound does not work. Video plays with no issue.Mute us not checked in general settings. Reboot (off/on) has not helped. Deleted apps and reloaded them. Did not help. Any other suggestions thank you

If you lose sound for games or other apps, email notifications and other notifications, system sounds may have been muted.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the control center. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to get to control center . Tap on the bell icon and system sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock can be accessed in the same manner as described above.
This support article from Apple explains how the side switch works.

  • Sound is not working properly ? The volume button keeps saying sound effects when it's pressed .

Sound is not working at all now , when you press the volume button it says sound effects but nothing is happening

    Hello Hartnett01,
Thank you for the details you provided regarding your audio issue you are experiencing on your iPad.  I found a couple of resources that I think might help.
First, I recommend following steps in the following tutorial to address an issue like this (you can skip step 2 "Recharge iPad" because it's not related to this issue):
    Frozen or unresponsive iPad
    https://www.apple.com/support/ipad/assistant/ipad/
If the issue persists, I recommend reviewing this article next (the title of the article refers to an iPhone, but the steps still apply to an iPad):

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

  • HT4623 since installing update my volume & sound are not working correctly

since installing the update 7.0.6 this morning, my volume and sound are not working in music, videos, keypad, and apps

You can't update to iOS 6 on the original iPad, but you might be able to troubleshoot the apps on your iPad. What is not working correctly?

  • TS3274 Sound is not working

Sound is not working in apps or keyboard clicks even though they are on in settings.

Have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the iPod and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.

  • Why iPhone 6 Plus sound microphone not working, but in the case of sound recordings in conversation mode work?

Why iPhone 6 Plus sound microphone not working, but in the case of sound recordings in conversation mode work?

Sighhhh, wasted so much time yesterday and today going around Sony centre and then carphone warehouse. They told me to come back after Easter.
I came home, banged the phone against the wall and it worked.
Turned out that mic was working on loud speaker and when using headphones so I thought that the secondary mic is working and the main one (placed with the speakers) isn't. So I banged that part against the wall slightly (in plastic case to prevent scratches) then put the phone underwater, waited for it to dry and now it's working. Idk how well and if it's of perfect quality again but people can hear me well.

  • My sound does not work on my computer

    Hey
I don't know if anyone can help me but my sound is not working on my computer. I went to my system preferences and when I click on output it says that the device has no output controls. I don't know why it is doing this. Can anyone help me to solve this problem?

    See:
    * https://support.mozilla.org/kb/No+sound+in+Firefox
    * https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Video+or+audio+does+not+play
You can click the Volume icon on the Windows Taskbar near the clock and click the Mixer link at the bottom to open the mixer.<br />
You can adjust the volume level for each application in that window, so make sure that Firefox is not muted or set at a low level.<br />
Current Firefox versions use the plugin-container process to run plugins, so you need to check the volume setting for the plugin-container process.<br />
You will only see the Firefox program or the Plugin Container in the Mixer if you are on a website that plays sound.
