is there another way i can download the update? it just never work, tried multiple time

    The most common causes are:
Your antivirus, firewall or router security is blocking access to Apple's servers - try temporarily disabling them - if you have Kaspersky this is definitely the problem
At some time in the past you used this computer to jailbreak, unlock or otherwise hack ANY iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad - if this applies to you your hosts file is corrupt and you will have to edit it and remove any lines that contain "gs.apple.com"

  • Have done all the trouble shooting connection but my iPad still can not get wifi connection

i have done all the trouble shooting connection but mu iPAd still can not get wifi connection

    Hi Jo,
Each router is a little different but here are the basics: login to the router using the administrator account, should have that info from the installer, and then you should find something like security settings, or it may be advanced security.  There will be a setting to the effect of limiting access, or it may say allow Mac address authentication, or admit the Mac addresses in the table...if that is switched on, you can just switch it off and that will allow any wireless device to attach.  If you want to keep it on, then you have to enter the Mac address for the device you want to use for access.  In the case of the iPad, go to Settings > General > About > WiFi Address (another way of saying Mac address).  Enter that very long sequence in the router's Mac address acceptance table and that should take care of things.
Using the Mac address does not change any of the email settings, just limits attaching to the router in the first place.
If you are already getting email, you must be attaching already so this should not be an issue.  If you are having email issues, such as receive but not send, you may not have the outgoing server set correctly: Settings > Mail > Account > Outgoing server name (usually an SMTP server) and you may have to go to the advanced settings to enter the outgoing password (normally the same as the account/incoming password) and then check to see if SSL is ON or OFF...most common email services say to set to OFF.

    Hello caitmcd,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!
You can also update the phone through iTunes directly if you have the latest version of iTunes installed, 11.1.
You can download iTunes 11 here if needed:

  • Just recently on my IPad I can't update my App. I keep getting the error message "invalid Address" what is going on?

Just recently on my IPad I can’t update my App. I keep getting the error message “invalid Address” what is going on?

There are a number of threads about this - it looks like Apple recently updated their address validation. Some people have recorded success by :
ensuring that their iTunes account address is exactly the same as appears on their credit card bill
putting something in the second line of the address (including just copying the first line)
expanding abbreviations e.g. St to Street, Ave to Avenue etc (or conversely abbreviating)
putting apartment or suite number on the second address line

  • HT3702 i have updated my billing information and still can't update the existing Apps. I changed the credit card and still same problem

I have updated my billing information and still can't update my existing apps , i ahve changed the payment card and still same problem ,what shall i do ?

It's a credit card, not a debit card ? As far as I know that message will show if you are trying to use a card that was not issued by a bank in the same country as where your iTunes account is based (and you need to be in that country). If you are sure that it is then you could try contacting iTunes Support and see if they can help : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • HT4972 I have an iPad 2 can I update to an iOS 5?

I have an iPad 2, can I update it to iOS5?

No. You can only update to iOS 6.1.3 now which is the most up to date software for your iPad. You cannot just update to iOS 5. You will need to update via iTunes on your computer - if you do want to update the software.
From iOS 4 or lower - Here are the instructions.

  • IPad Air can't update to 8.0.2 because I have only 6.2 space

iPad Air can't update to 8.0.2 because I have only 6.2 space

I deleted a few apps, iMovie, iNumbers from device and got the space I needed. They are easily restored from "Purchased" list in iTunes.
After getting stuck with the pass code fiasco I posted on (see below) and reading all the problems people are reporting with iOS 8, I am thinking now is not the time to risk having my iPad locked up for this version of the operating system. Proceed with caution.

See the chart below to determine whether you can upgrade your device and what you can upgrade to. If you do not have a Software Update option present on your iDevice, then you are trying to upgrade to iOS 5 or higher. You will have to connect your device to your computer and open iTunes in order to upgrade.

  • IPad 1 Can't Update (Unkown Error (1))

I've been trying to update my original iPad WiFi+3G. It will go through the process, installing the firmware, then verifying. I get the message that it can't update the device, with "unknown error (1)." It is presently stuck in restore mode.
    Things I have tried:
Downloading the update directly from apple
    Rebooting my MacBook
    Repairing permissions on MacBook
    Differnet USB ports
    Differnt cablles
    DFU Mode
I have an appointment with the Genius Bar Saturday morning (since they aren't taking any for tomorrow). Is there any other suggestions as to what I might try? What does this error mean?
Have I bricked my iPad? If so, how can that be resolved with Apple?

    You can try this round about method. First, download the iOS 5.1 upgrade directly from the Apple servers;
    http://appldnld.apple.com/iOS5/041-1536.20120307.XvCtw/iPad1,1_5.1_9B176_Restore .ipsw
    Then, use these instructions to apply the upgrade to your iPad;
    iOS upgrade direct download
After you have downloaded the update, attach your iPad to your computer, open iTunes and select your iPad in the devices list. Press & hold the Option key on a Mac or the Shift key on a Windows PC and click the Check for Update button. Browse to where you downloaded the update and Choose it. iTunes will handle the rest.

  • I changed my Apple account and still can't update my applications

I changed my apple id and can't update my applications as my old apple ID is still appear once I'm trying to update it

Your apps are actually tagged with whatever ID you used when you first downloaded them.  That ID will be the only one that can update the app because it is the one that "purchased" the app.  You can always reset the password for the old ID using iforgot.apple.com if needed.
Free apps can also be deleted and then downloaded using the new ID if you won't lose too much data.  Downloading the app again using the new ID will add the app to the purchase history of your new ID so you can update it using that password from now on.

  • Have 3 Ipads how can I update all without download each time

I have 3 IPads one one computer how can I update all without downloading for each one ?

If they are the same model (iPad 1, iPad 2 wifi, iPad 2 CDMA, or ipad 2 GSM/sim) then for the second and third devices just press hold the shift key on windows, or the command key on a Mac, when clicking on the Check For Updates button in iTunes, and then navigate to the IPSW file - if they are different models then I believe that each model has a different update file.

  • HT1222 I have the iPad 2, can I update to IOS6 ??? if so how so I so that?

Can I update my iPad 2

You can.  If you are already on iOS 5+ then you should have a Settings > General > Software Update on it for direct update.  If you are on iOS 4 then you will need to do the update via your computer's iTunes (you can also update via your computer if you are on iOS 5+).
To update via your computer, connect the iPad to your computer's iTunes and copy any purchases off it to your computer via File > Transfer Purchases. You may also want to copy photos and any important documents off the iPad as well e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via wifi, email, dropbox etc - they should be included in the backup, but it's best to have a copy of them outside of the backup just in case. You can then force a backup of the iPad by right-clicking the iPad 'Device' on the left-hand side of iTunes and selecting 'Backup'.
Then start the update by selecting the iPad on the left-hand side of iTunes, and on the Summary tab on the right-hand side clicking the Check For Updates button
    Updating to iOS 5+ : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4972
Updating to iOS 6 will remove the built-in YouTube app and the Maps app will change.

  • Hardwired iPad still can't be found or finish a sync

Why is it that my iTunes, which is connected via USB cable to my iPad2, is unable to "find" my iPad or that once it finally does, I begin the sync and half way through its says that its lost my iPad ort "can't find it." T ensure this isn't a wifi link that's coming or going I've put the iPad in airplane mode. Same results.
"The iPad could not be synced because the connection to the iPad was lost."
I've done the factory reset thing before and I can't say that it made a difference.

    Reboot the comouter
    try a different USB port
    Try a different cable
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
