My IPad 2 wifi+3G 7.0.4 has been frozen since the last hour?

Even if I try to power OFF it won't respond. How do you fix this? Plus since last year the home button (circle with square inside) has not been working so I have to use five fingers to close an app.

If you can't get the home button to work, you are certainly in a pinch. I recommend trying this anyway, even though it involves using the home button. IF ... It does work, try calibrating the home button.
See if you can reboot the iPad first. Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If the iPad does restart, try this. Calibrate the home button....
1. Open a stock iOS app, such as Contacts
2. Press & hold the sleep/wake button at the top of your device until the red slider control appears.
3. Immediately release the sleep/wake button and press & hold the home button. Hold until the red slider disappears.

Have you tried a soft-reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

When I try to email documents from my iPad 2 it appears to send but never shows up in my sent box or in the receiver's email account. this has only been happening since the last update for my ipad. How can this be corrected?

When I "share" documents from Pages or GoodReader via email It looks and sounds like documents have been sent but they never arrive and when I check my "sent" file, they aren't there. Which email service provider are you using? You can install DropBox and share links to the files that way. When you snd to your self (cc or bcc) do the items show up? What file types and sizes are these attachments? Are you sending over WiFi or cellular connection? Try using more than one email account from a different provider (Gmail, yahoo, iCloud, etc) and see if it is email provider specific.

What troubleshooting steps have you attempted to correct this issue? I have a 5s running iOS 8.2 and have not experienced any problems. User troubleshooting steps are restart, reset, restore from backup and restore as new. Make sure you make a backup of the device before attempting any troubleshooting. If you go through all of the steps, including restore as new and then test the device before adding any content back to it and it is still not functioning correctly, then make an appointment at the Genius Bar of the nearest Apple store to have the hardware checked. If it functions correctly when restored as new, then try restoring the backup again. If it acts up after that, then there is something corrupt in your backup file. Restore as new again and sync your content back manually.

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

If I go into settings and physically touch the WiFi that has been used since his was new than after waiting for 2 to 3 min it finally goes on line. I never had any problems until this last update. It always went on line automatically with out having to go into settings. Just a pain. Once I do this it usually stays on line.

Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
You will have to re enter your Wi-Fi password.

re-boot ipad.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake

You need to use separate iCloud accounts. This will mean that you can both have your own separate contracts and calendars and put an end to them being deleted by each other.
Whether or not you have a separate iTunes account, is up to you. If you have a separate iTunes accounts you will not be able to access the music, books, apps that have been purchased by the other. This may be exactly what you want, but it also means that you both may end up purchasing the same item.
