My ipad 2 wifi was stolen
How can I locate? I do have configured the find my ipad option on the icloud. Buy I understand that it wont work with out using wifi, right?
If you have not enabled Find My iPad, you can't track, lock or wipe your iPad
1. Change your passwords immediately
2. Notify the credit card company immediately
3. Report to insurance company
4. Report to the police

It's unfortunate that your device has been stolen. You can report this to the police, but as has been answered before, if the device is restored you CANNOT locate it.
It probably is technically possible to track your device by the SIM; law enforcement will not waste their time doing so. Besides, the thieves have probably changed it anyway.
While unfortunate your iPad is gone, you really need to move on. -

If the iPad was running iOS 7, the thief/finder will not ever be able to use it.

Yes. A thief just needs to restore it in iTunes to wipe it without iOS 7.

It would be on your box. If you registered it with Apple, you could also sign into your support profile and see it there (https://supportprofile.apple.com/MySupportProfile.do). Finally, if you ever backed it up using iTunes you can go to iTunes preferences>Devices and hover you mouse over the backup to reveal the serial number.

I had my ipad air stolen and tried using the "find my ipad app" only to realize it won't even track it unless it it hooked to wi-fi! I am sure thieves figure out how to use it even with my pass code on. Is there ANY thing else that can b done to track it? Serial number possibly? Please please anyone with info please help!
No, there is no other way to track it. If you have a pass code set and are using iOS 7.x.x then the thieves simply have a bricked iPhone that is useless to them.

What are the procedures for getting Apple to wipe the data off my original ipad I bought two years ago. I had it stolen from a hotel room over the weekend and it is not password protected and no I did not download app to find it.
Any hwlp would be greting appreciated!Apple can't do it, only you could potentially do it if you had enabled Find My iPad on it before it was stolen.
If it was stolen then you should report it to the police. As a safety precaution you should also change your iTunes account password, your email account passwords, and any passwords that you'd stored on websites/emails/notes etc. -

If you did not have find my iPhone turned on there is no way to track your iPad. -

I lost my ipad 4G, it had a passcode lock on it and it wont show up on find-my-iphone, why is that? Lost it a few hours ago and dont know why it isnt showing up at all on icloud's find my iphone. I know that it will not work if there is no wifi available but I thought that since my ipad had the cellular data activated it was constantly ON even if it had the smart cover on, or am I wrong? Icloud's find my iphone app was def activated on it. I am not sure what to do at this point...am I out of luck?

How can I see the IP address of somone who used my iPad that was stolen to log into my app-store?
I recently fell victim to a theft of my iPad. Albeit it was an old one, it was mine.
Logging on to app-store with my iPhone, I have been prompted many times for "confirmation" of my password and for security questions. Clearly, someone has been trying to log on and has failed. My only guess is that they intend to keep the iPad and download music or whatever. But being prompted for security questions, leads me to suspect that somone has my apple ID but has been plugging away at passwords to buy stuff.
If I was able to locate the IP address (as the unit is only Wi-Fi), I can pass this onto the authorities and perhaps retreive the unit.
Is it possible to load a location app remotely from here and have it load up when the stolen unit is online again?
Many thanks y'allDid you have 'find my iPhone' activated on it? Because if you go to iCloud.com you can log in there and you can remotely lock or wipe your device. From what I hear, the police won't do anything about going and fetching stolen iPads and iPhones, but if you have find my iphone/ipad/ipod/mac turned on then it will give you a map of where it is.
Just keep in mind that sometimes iTunes does ask you for your password regardless, and only a few weeks ago apple brought in security questions, so everyone had to fill in security questions for their iTunes account to make it more secure If all else fails, ring Apple cusomer support and they might be able to bar your account or something, however you may have to make a new account (the might be able to set it up so you have all your previous information on a new account)

<Personal Information Edited by Host>As we are fellow users here on these user-to-user forums, you're not talking to iTunes Support nor Apple, I've asked the hosts to remove your email addresses and phone numbers from your post -it's not a good idea to post personal info on any public forum (unless you like same emails).
Unless you had Settings > iCloud > Find My iPad enabled on it then there isn't any way to try and locate it. If you did have it enabled then you could try locating it either via http://www.icloud.com on a computer or Find My iPhone app on another iOS device - but that will only work if it's connected to a network and the device hasn't already been wiped and/or Find My iPad disabled on it.
If you haven't already done so then report it to the police. You should also change your iTunes account password, your email account passwords, and any passwords that you'd stored on websites/emails/notes etc., and contact your carrier.
