My Ipad 2 won't recover

I've been having problems getting Operating System 6.01 installed on my ipad 2. I'm not sure it's supported. It failed when I tried to install the update. I could not access itunes store or anything, so I tried updating.
So, I tried backing up my ipad, which failed as well

Unfortionately, when I did an erase all data and settings, my ipad is stuck on the loading screen with the non stop cursor.
I don't know what to do. It's just like everything else I am using and just like me. I feel like I am losing everything that matters to me. And at the same time, my conditioning keeps worsening while the doctors say I'm fine.
I don't have any money to buy another ipad or computer. I'm an running out of options for myself. I feel so helpless.

Ipad won't recover.

Hi
We're on vacation and my wifes Ipad has failed.
My wife started the software update yesterday, ever since there has only been the apple on the screen..
I can't find any way to fix this without losing the data so tried to recover it. However when I connect to the laptop and hold the home button the 'empty battery' icon
appears on screen and I cannot get past that. The battery is definitely not empty, it's been charging all afternoon.
Any ideas what I can do to fix this.

IPad won't recover. Stuck with iTunes icon.

I have an iPad2. I saw a new update for iOS and tried to install it. (I dont remember which update and now can't get back to that screen.) The iPad now shows the iTunes icon and a picture of a USB cable. I tried to connect the iPad to iTunes on my computer, but the computer responds that the iPad is in recovery mode and recovery must complete before connecting to iPad. But I can't complete recovery.
Tried holding Sleep and Home buttons simultaneously, but only got Apple logo, a dark screen, and then the return of the iTunes icon and USB picture. No slider bar to turn off iPad. It feels like a manual version of an endless loop. What can I do? Stupidly, the iPad isn't totally backed up.

First try a Reset ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least Ten seconds... (But can take Longer)... until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons
If no joy... Try a Restore...
1: Connect the device to Your computer and open iTunes.
2: If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane.

If Safari is working otherwise and you can log onto other websites, try clearing Safari and reset your iPad. That might help with the Twitter app as well.

Remember, any purchased item from the itunes store is forever associated with the Apple ID used to buy it. So when you get prompted for an ID/password and it doesn't accept it, then you are using the wrong ID.
Go to Settings>iTunes and App Stores, be sure it's logged into the ID you have set on the iphone (since that one seems to be connecting with the right ID). If you've done this, then you might wait a bit to see if the "cannot connect to .. store" message has to do with internet connections.

Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Have you tried a reset to see if it charges after the iPad has restarted ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
In terms of the sounds, have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the Music and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. For Safari you could try clearing its cache and history via Settings > Safari.
For Safari and your other apps you could close them all completely and then see if they work when you re-open them : from the home screen (i.e. not with any app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of each app to close them, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
