My ipad 4 front camera wont work

My front camera just turns into shutter screen and wont open.
I tried to turn off and on the ipad, but when i use the front camera. It still wont work.
What should i do? Please help... Thanks in advnce

If you successfully restored (went through all steps without error) to factory settings/new iPod via iTunes (Not via Settings>General>Reset>Erase all Content and Setting) and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem.

I am having the SAME problem. It is making me want an Android this is so FRUSTRATING! Here's my issue:
I have an iPhone 4 with 5.1.1. It fairly recently decided to have tons of issues connecting to Wifi. The 2 places I connect to Wifi are my home and my work. At home, my phone manages to about 95% of the time find the wifi signal, but I have to go manually put in my wifi password every time I want to connect, otherwise it'll just stay on 3G. When it doesn't find the signal I have to keep refreshing it and it eventually finds it.
At work, the wifi that EVERYONE else uses, I have the most trouble connecting to. I have to manually go into my wifi settings and find the signal. That is IF it actually finds it. About 50% of the time it just doesn't find it. Then about 40% of the time it sees it, but when I try to connect it says "Unable to join the network "SEWELL"" (that's the name of the Wifi). Then about 10% of the time I can find it and connect to it. AND then sometimes when I am finally connected it'll just kick me off in the middle of browsing and I'll go back to 3G. This happens with work and home.
I have tried EVERY troubleshooting method. I reset the network settings, I soft reset the phone, I did a full restore and deleted everything and still it doesn't work. I reset it all the time trying to get it to work and it just does nothing.
Any other suggestions or am I just going to have to deal with it until the Samsung Galaxy S III comes out?
Do you think if I took it to an Apple store they would replace it and that might help (iPhone 4 probably had it for over a year)? I know other people with iPhones (3G and 4's) and theirs work fine so I don't know how it can be the Apple 5.1.1 update?

Get help with the camera on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
You see a closed lens or black screen
If you see a closed lens or black screen when you open the Camera app, try these steps:
Make sure that there’s nothing blocking the camera lens. If you’re using a case, try removing it.
Force the app to close, then open the Camera app again.
Restart your device, then open the Camera app again.
If your device has a front and rear camera, try both cameras by tapping the camera swap icon . If you see the closed lens or black screen on only one camera, take your device to an Apple Retail Store or Authorized Service Provider for more help.

It sounds like you are able to focus using the front camera, but the back one doesnt seem to. I would use these troubleshooting steps from the following article, named:
Get help with the camera on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Force the app to close, then open the Camera app again.
Restart your device, then open the Camera app again.
Your photos are blurred or out of focus
If your photos are blurred, out of focus, or have dark spots, try these steps:
Make sure that the camera lens is clean. If you need to clean the lens, use a microfiber cloth. If you see dirt or debris inside the lens, take your device to an Apple Retail Store or Authorized Service Provider for more help.
Make sure that there’s nothing blocking the camera lens. If you’re using a case, try removing it.
With iPhone 6 Plus, a metallic case or magnetic lens could interfere with optical image stabilization. If you have a metallic case or magnetic lens attachment, try taking a picture without it. Then compare the quality.
Adjust the focus by tapping on the person or object in the preview screen. You’ll see the screen pulse or briefly go in and out of focus as the camera adjusts. In photo mode, try to stay steady when adjusting the focus. If you move too far in any direction, the camera will automatically refocus to the center. In video mode, you can adjust the focus before you begin recording.
If the color seems too bright, or you see double-exposures of moving objects, make sure that HDR is set to Auto or Off. Tap HDR at the top of the screen to choose a different setting.

It sounds like you're seeing an unexpected black line when you take photos with your rear camera. I would next backup the iPad to your iTunes library:

4s front camera wont load

my iphone 4s front camera wont load! the back camera works... but not the front. it wont even work in cam wow apps, facetime, or anything.

Try clearing out your Camera Roll.
The next would be to Restore with your backup.
If still a problem, Restore as new, i.e. without your backup and see how it runs with nothing synced or downloaded to your iPhone.

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after the iPad shuts down, then press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds). Ignore the "Slide to power off"
If you have an iPad 4 it is still under warranty. If the front camera is still not working call Apple Support for replacement.

It entirely depends on your needs. The top players (AVPlayerHD / ProPlayer, It's Playing, GoodPlayer) all have different strengths and weaknesses. Ive had my ipod for at least 3-4 months now, and just today my front camera stopped working! I go to my camera app, (the built in one) and it defaults to the back camera. when I tap the little switch icon, I get a blurry, and sometimes black, screen. as if the shutter isnt opening. I have updated the ios software and shut down the ipod multiple times. I really dont want to reset the ipod because it will delete my apps.

This advice will sound like a joke or prank, but believe me it worked on my iPhone 5 and my daughter's. The lens mechanism got stock on each of our iPhones. We found a post on these message boards that said to hold the iPhone about 6 inches above a table or counter top and drop it so that it lands flat on it's back. Now try the camera ...Fixed! It has been more than six months now and neither of our iPhones have ever experienced the problem again.
