My iPad 4 won't pair with any of my Bluetooth devices. What's up?

Just got my iPad 4 and I'm trying to share some things between it and my galaxy S3. My phone pairs with the pad, the pad won't pair with phone. After further investigation, the pad won't pair with my husbands iPhone 5 or our MAC. I feel like I've tried everything I could before asking for help... Any ideas?

I do appreciate the reply But, what would explain the inability to pair with anything else?

Iphone won't pair with any bluetooth speakers, earbuds or car stereo. The devices pair with other phones computers etc. Jawbone Jambox says it's paired with Iphone but Iphone still says not paired! what's wrong? Iphone also doesn't ring or signal text or reminders just vibrates.

did that already twice. no pairings listed until I turn on bluetooth device then it just say not paired and pairing not successful. Jambox says it's paired but Iphone says not paired. Plus the ringer problem. When I choose a ring tone or sound it plays but when the I get an incoming call or text it just vibrates. And sometimes Itunes and youtube has no sound. What's going on?

    Hello,
My iPad 2 has never been "paired" with any PC.  My one and only PC is corrupted and will not, after many many attempts, download iTunes.  When I turn on my iPad it insists that I connect to my iTunes.  How can I avoid this and just get the iPad to work like normal?  Any help is much appreciated

You cannot do anything with the iPad until you do as instructed by the iPad and connect to iTunes on a computer.
You probably need to restore the iPad and the only way to do that is via iTunes on a computer.
Take it to an Apple Store and ask for help at a Genius bar or take it to a friend's house that is running iTunes on their computer and try to restore it.
You will lose all of your data and settings now because you never backed the iPad up in the past.

  • Apple keyboard won't pair with any devices

I just cleaned my niece's apple wireless keyboard using the mister clean magic eraser. I did not removed the batteries in doing so. What happened was the keyboard did not interact properly with the mac that it was connected to. Now I've tried replacing the battery with a new one. I tried pairing this keyboard to my iPad air and macbook pro. It won't pair with both devices. When I tried putting in the numbers that the computer gives me there's a delayed response. Is they keyboard broke. Apple should've placed a reset button on the keyboard. I don't know what to do.

i just used the mr. clean magic eraser. it's a sponge that you use to wipe out the dirt. it did a good. I just didn't remove the batteries or the KB was on at that time so the LED indicator was blinking. When I was done cleaning my niece notice that it wouldn't funciton properly. I tried pairing it again. I followed that step were you had to hold the power button for 6 seconds to reset it. It still did not pair. I tried pairing it to my mac and ipad air. It won't pair at all. Whenever I type in the code to pair it. It would stop pairing at the first number that I typed. So I don't know what to do next. Apple should've placed a small reset button to reset the whole KB.

  • My Iphone 3GS with IOS 5.1 won't pair with my Mercedes ML350 bluetooth

Why doesn't my IPhone 3GS with IOS5.1 pair with my Mercedes ML350 bluetooth?

Sorry, I haven't a clue.  However, in "pairing" phones, I've found that it's not a perfect science and most of the time, if I keep making an attempt, my phone does pair. Today, I finally got around to pairing my new 4S with my Ford Flex.  Same story, the first 3 or 4 attempts crashed. Then for some unknown reason, doing the same procedure, the phone did pair with my Flex.

  • My iPad 1 won't pair with my iHealth Activity Tracker

I am having trouble with my iPad 1st generation pairing with an iHealth Activity Tracker I just recently purchased. I have the latest IOS. The app downloaded fine, but my iPad can not find the tracker. The app is telling me to manually input the Tracker device.

According to their own website, it doesn't appear the First Gen iPad is compatible with the tracker.

Apparently it requires an iPad 3 or above to work.

  • My iPad one won't charge with any cable I buy? Tell me what I am doing wrong.

I have an iPad 1 and have had no major problems with it til now. I want to continue using it, I use it for many things and it would suck if it stoped working because of something IDK about. My first and only apple product.
The charger cable (That came with it) finally broke. The wires just came apart and it wasn't salvagable. I had an Ipod cord here that a friend left and plugged it into the original port (The one that was working fine with original charger and came with ipad). It was a tight squeze into the iPad (which I thought was normal) but I got it into there so I thought it would work. It won't work. So i bought a charger said to be used to ipads, and I plugged it in, same thing happened. I did however still sync it into the computer with the new cable I bought. What am I doing wrong that it won't charge on the wall anymore? Wrong cable? I'm confused. Please help!

Could be the charger, cable or iPad. Plug the USB cable into your computer. It may say "Not Charging", however, it is charging slowly and will verify that the cable is good.
Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. • New Ipad (3) won't pair with devices

I have two separate speakers that I used with no problem with my iPad 1. I replaced it with the New iPad and neither speaker now works. Do I have a defective iPad that needs replacing?
Details: the New iPad is 16G, 4G-capable but I choose to use wifi only and have not bought a plan. One of the speakers is the Bose Soundlink. I forget the brand of the other one. Neither has ever successfully paired. The Bluetooth symbol does not appear on the upper right-hand corner of the iPad screen most of the time. (It does occasionally when I fiddle with turning Bluetooth on and off through "settings"). When it "searches" for devices, the only device it ever finds is my useless Blackberry. Neither of the 2 speakers even show up. I've tried resetting the devices, and resetting the iPad including a complete reset that involved restoring it from an iCloud backup. Nothing works.

Not entirely accurate.  Per a kb article at Apple.com:
Apple peripheral devices may request more than 500 mA (Milliamps) at 5 V (Volts) from a port to function or to allow for faster charging. Such Apple peripheral devices include:
Apple MacBook Air SuperDrive (when connected to supported computers)
    Aluminum Wired Keyboard*
    iPod
    iPhone
    iPad
To meet requests for additional power from these Apple peripherals and devices, some Apple computers and displays can provide up to 1100 mA at 5 V through the port to which the Apple peripheral or device is connected.
For whatever reason, my iPad has been much better for most of yesterday and today.  As others have noted, it still does not increase it's charge while in use (nor does it discharge much, as though the charger is providing just enough power to run the iPad while in use).  I think when I was first restoring everything and loading up apps, etc., it was running VERY HOT which probably meant it was drawing a lot of power from the battery, and the charger could not keep up (which meant the battery was slowly discharging).
Now that activity on my iPad is more normalized, it's not as hot, but still doesn't charge much while in use.
I'm sure Apple can do something to increase the charge rate so it does charge faster when asleep.  My iPad 2 charged a bit too slow for my tastes and now the new iPad is even worse!

  • IPad Air won't charge with ipad made adapters but only with iPhone's

My ipad air won't charge with any ipad made adapters! but will charge with my iPhone adapter. Oh and I bought my charger and adapter for my iPhone (that I now use for my iPad Air) at a store that doesn't relate to the officials apple store for only 12 dollars sadly when I charge my iPad Air
TTo let you know, my ipad adapter would always get hot so is it a problem with my ipad or adapter

my ipad adapter would always get hot so is it a problem with my ipad or adapter
Since your iPad charges with the phone adapter, the iPad adapter (that is made by who knows) is the problem. You tried to save a few dollars and it did not work. Get a real Apple adapter and your problems will go away.

  • My new iPhone 4S won't pair with my iPad

I recently got a new 4s and it won't pair with my iPad 2. I have had 2 4s that have always successfully paired with my iPad. Any suggestions on how to get them to pair?

Over Bluetooth?  No way, unless you're sharing a Personal Hotspot over Bluetooth and all devices are syncing to shared accounts over the internet, but not peer-to-peer over Bluetooth.
If you think otherwise, please explain exactly how, and what apps were being used to sync texting, calendars, notes, reminders peer-to-peer over Bluetooth.

I just bought a new 2013 Honda civic and my iPhone 4S won't pair with the cars Bluetooth device but it did on other people's iPhones; I have no other Bluetooth devices on my phone. Any suggestions?

    I have to ask,
Are you making sure you are in park before attempting the sync?   The car won't allow you to do it in motion, whether or not you're the passenger.

  • Apple Bluetooth keyboard won't pair with new iPad mini

Apple Bluetooth keyboard won't pair with new iPad mini

I have same results. I have an ipad mini and it will not pair with my apple keyboard. I bought a mini keyboard with bluetooth 3.0 and it will not pair either.  Is my ipad defective?  Or do i need a keyboard with bluetooth 4.0?  Also - the mini keypad will pair with my ipad2 and my iphone 4.  Only difference I can find is the ipad mini has bluetooth 4.0.  Seems it should be downward compatible but maybe not.. I am not a blutooth expert!

  • Bluetooth in MacBook Pro won't pair with anything

Hello all.  I have two MacBook Pros, each about 6 months old.  They are both running the latest version of Lion.  Neither one will pair with any bluetooth device.  I always get an error message saying "this device does not have the necessary services".  What does this mean, and how can I fix it?
I have a Canon printer that won't pair, and I thougth it was just a compatibility issue until I tried to pair a Jawbone Jambox (which used to pair), and a brand new Bose portable speaker.  I get the same message every time.
Bluetooth on the computer finds the device,  but can't go through with the pairing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Jadrb

I just got a Creative D100 bluetooth speaker and am having the exact same problem you had. Speaker pairs just fine with my ipad, but won't work with MacBook giving me same "This device does not have the necessary services" error message. Have you found a solution yet?
