My ipad 4th gen 32gb keeps crashing everytime i use a app that deals with a map?

I updated my ipad 4th gen 32gb to iOS 7 and since then anytime i use a app that deals with a map it crashes for instance find my iphone, find my friends and the built in map app on the ipad. I restored the ipad when it first started happening and its still doing it. I do the soft reset and it seems to do not a thing to help out the matter. The first time it happened i was using my built in map app and the ipad started crashing and wouldnt stop, it went on for like 3 hours kept turning on and turning right back off when it turned back on and it would do that for the whole 3 hours it probably crashed and turned back on 200 times. I had to do a command reset using itunes on my macbook pro to get it to stop doing it and ive not used the map app since because of it. So recently ive used find my friends and find my iphone and it would crash my ipad once and when it came back on it wouldnt crash again so i would just go and kill the app that caused it to crash.

I restored my ipad as a new ipad deleted all the backups for the ipad from my itunes and then set it up as new and put all my photos and music and apps back the way they was and i havent really messed with the apps with maps in it but the crashing is still happening and its happening inside the settings app id love if someone could help me out its starting to get pretty annoying. Thanks.

  • IPad 4th Gen and Safari crashing, plus running like a slug after IOS7 upg

Since I updated my iPad 4th Gen with the latest IOS it has become the worst piece of electronic equipment I own, I received in February as a birthday present and now I feel it’s totally useless.
Safari crashes constantly, it takes forever to open any url I try to go to, I have multiple I mean multiple tabs/ or whatever they call them now that I just cannot close, Its runs like a dead slug, it’s so slow, it’s a absolute nightmare.
I would actually liken it to the early days of Microsoft’s first attempts at windows, yea I know I said it. I’m typing this on my Windows 8 pc and you know what it actually works very very well. Unlike my nice new IPad, which after the update does not, the problems are too numerous to mention. What are apple doing about it ?  and has anyone found a solution - fix - workaround please.

I'm having the same issue.  Safari is useless.  I have tried numerous things to try to fix it and it is not working at all.  It's slow and I can't close any tabs either.  I just got my IPad 4 three weeks ago so I feel your pain.  I wish Apple would fix this.  I use Chrome and Mercury apps for browsing and they work just fine.    However, I have no problems on my IPhone 4s with the update.

  • IPad 4th gen video streaming crash

Bought my iPad 4th gen a few days ago, upgraded straight away to iOS 6.0.1
Whenever I stream video the system crashes and the iPad screen goes black then reboots.
Has happened via YouTube from safari, embedded facebook youtube and also news websites.
Any ideas on what it could be?

Have tried restoring to factory via iTunes with no luck, will just return to place of purchase I think.

  • IPad won't display my Gmail contacts in the Contacts app that comes with the IPad.

I have never been able to get my Gmail contacts imported into the Contacts app that comes with the IPad.

If you can be more specific about what you have tried, someone might be able to offer other solutions.
I sync my contacts and calendar with Gmail too. I don't use iCloud for syncing contacts. I have set it up as an exchange account. That works on both my ipad and iphone. Any changes made to either is reflected on the other.
Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Add new account>Microsoft Exchange. Leave out the domain name. The server when asked is m.google.com. Turn on contacts (and calendar or mail if you use them) and that's it.
If that does not work, perhaps you can describe what issue you are having.

  • Adobe Draw performance issues - iPad 4th gen 32gb v8.2

I'm wondering if anyone can help me troubleshoot my performance issues with Illustrator Draw. I'll be working on a drawing and at some point things will start to lag and eventually grind to a halt. Zooming results in about 15-20 seconds of lag while it redraws, recoloring by tap-hold is similar, and drawing eventually becomes impossible.
I'm not working with HUGE illustrations, or anything super complicated (indeed, the examples Adobe uses to showcase the product seem very complex, which is what I'd LOVE to be able to do). Usually 2-3 color, probably 4-5 layers, no transparencies. I saw the issue with Ideas from time to time, but it seems much worse with Draw. Occasionally the lag will lead to a crash, usually associated with losing everything I've done for an hour or more. Does anyone in the community (or hopefully Adobe) have any suggestions as to why this might be the case?

This same thing happens to me as well only it's not my zoom thats the real problem, it's Draw cutting off my stroke to process and then leaping in a straight line to the end of my stroke. I think it might be the 4th gen iPads, cause you and I are running the same iPad.

  • Ipad 4th gen 32Gb seems to be doing weird cycling thing.

SO let me explain, I had used Ipad about 2 weeks ago, Then today It acted like dead battery. ie nothing happened like normally when you press the Sleep/Wake Button.
So I plugged it into the AC plug and a Red battery indicator displyed with the bottom 1/4 screen displaying a greyish/white rectangle. Then all of a sudden the apple logo displays for about 1.5 seconds then off and about 2 sec later back to the red battery indicator Greish/white rectangle screen again then apple logo then repeat.
It will do this for hours and it seem the battery is gaining 0% charge.
Not to mention I tried to restore it but when connecting to mylaptop ( Which is all I have ever used to update/Sync with) It does nothing and I cannotget computer to even detect it.
Anyone know what the ehck coudl of happened here and how I can get it restored. I have backup so I can erase all if needed.
All I know is that this now is totally useless

This is after being plugged into AC for over 24 hours. I first get the low battery screen then within like 1-2 seconds the apple logo pops up then within 1-2 seconds it acts like it is restarting and goes back to battery screen and repeats this over and over again.
I have tried holding the Home button and the Sleep awake button but it seeems to have no effect the Ipad just keeps doing its cycle.
I tried plugging it into the laptop but it does not detect the ipad so I am stuck.
I have no Idea how to restart or reset it other then the 2 ways I mentioned.

  • My 4th gen. shuffle keeps on sending me an error message that it cannot connect with iTunes because it's not formatted properly.

    Hi,
About two days ago my shuffle started to send me an error message that it cannot connect with iTunes because it's not formated properly.
So I've already updated the softwer, I tried to use it with every single USB port on my computer and searched for solutions on the net but couldn't find any useful information...
I literally see the following message: The iPod "194" cannot be used with iTunes because it is not formatted properly.
    Any ideas?....
    Thank you!

If you cannot access the iPad because of the passcode, you have no choice but to restore it using the same steps that you would use if you forgot the passcode.

  • IPad 4th Gen will not access gmail/error message regarding password

iPad 4th Gen,32GB, iOS8.1 suddenly giving error message of incorrect user name or password when trying push emails.  Steps tried so far:
unlocked gmail account via Safari browser
changed from fetch to push and back
checked stmp info and turned on SSL
    rebooted iPad
    deleted gmail account
    attempted to load gmail account
Any other fixes to try?  Problem just suddenly happened this afternoon.  Been working just fine, even after downloading iOS 8.1 over 24 hours ago.  Problem has only existed for about 6 hours.  Had exact problem with iPhone 6, 64GB, iOS 8.1 at the same time but unlocking gmail account via Safari resolved the problem on the iPhone 6.  All other apps on both devices working perfectly.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

  • IPad 4th Gen recurring problem!

Right after purchase of iPad 4th gen 32GB Wifi+4G and in weeks since, it goes black between 65-55% battery life and is totally unresponsive.  Only after plugging into a power source does it come alive and the first few times, a message immediately said "Cannot Verify Server Identity"  "Not Trusted" with details of 'calander.yahoo.com' and  'imap.mail.yahoo.com and calander' or something and that happened several times, but the last 20 or so times, it does not come up any more.
I have tried restoring to iCloud backup and factory and still the same results.  Bizzare.  I am totally baffled.
Sent it back to Apple a few days ago and they returned it after a diagnotics check and could not reproduce the problem.  I got it back and it was at 75% battery life which leads me to believe they didn't even take it down to 65% to reproduce it which if the case, ticks me off.  They said they installed firmware and updates, but the same problem happened again after it reached 63%.
Frustrated and baffled.  Has anybody seen or had this problem??

You've also tried restoring to your last backup and/or resetting back to factory defaults ? But you may need to contact Apple. If it's the 4th gen iPad then it should be covered by the 12 month warranty (it hasn't been dropped or anything ?), as they were only released in November.

  • My iPad gen one keeps crashing while I'm right in the middle of stuff especially while online

Hi my iPad gen keeps crashing.  It happens during apps usage, and Internet use mostly.  Usually it happens right when I'm writing a message. Sometimes my apps won't even start up, it's like I'm frozen in time.  My software is up to date so I'm not sure what else to do.

  • IPad 3rd gen 32GB or 4th gen 16GB?

    I'm in a dilemma.
My budget gives me a choice between the iPad 3rd gen 32GB or the  4th gen 16GB model. Both are Wi-Fi only, which is fine for me.
What would people recommend? Should I go for the faster CPU or the bigger storage?
Until it was recently stolen I had a 16GB iPad 2, and while I wouldn't say I had loads of space, I got by with it just fine. But I'm guessing these newer models will need more storage.
    Any thoughts/suggestions/opinions welcome.

Where are you going to buy an iPad 3? Apple doesn't sell them anymore. Buy a refurbished 32GB iPad 4 at Apple's on-line store. A refurb is cheaper than the new one, but has a new screen, back and battery and the same 1 year warranty.

Is this happening with one particular network or with all?  Make sure iOS is updated on the device.
    Try this:
Reboot ipad by pressing and holding both the home and sleep/wake buttons at the same time until the apple logo appears on the screen, then let go. Then try to connect to network.
Go to settings, Toggle airplane mode on/off. Make sure bluetooth is off. Turn on wif (airplane mode off). Try to connect.
    Reset Network Settings
Go to settings/general/reset/reset network settings. Then try to connect to network.
If its your home router, then reboot router by unplugging for 5-10min. (do this while you're resetting network settings).
If problem persists, then check for firmware updates on your router.(you check router manufacturer support website for downloads and instructions).
