My iPad air is disabled because I endeterd the wong keycode too many times and now and will not enter recovery mode. I haven't a clue what to do next?

If you must use Recovery Mode, which is at the bottom of the linked page, follow all steps very carefully. Even hen you might have to try several times.

When you restore, you can restore to factory settings or to a backup. Restoring to factory settings removes everything and takes you back to out of the box status and you start all over again. Restoring from your backup will replace all of your app data, bookmarks, email settings and things like that. You still may need to sync all of your purchased apps and music, photos and so on back to the iPad.
I assume you want to restore from your backup to put all of you data back on the device so connect the iPad to your computer, launch iTunes, right click on the device name on the left side under the devices heading and select restore from backup. After you restore from your backup, make sure that you sync all of your other content with iTunes.

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app

    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. IPad 2 - did an erase and reset and now it will not respond

I did an erase and reset on my iPad 2 and now it will not respond, not even by plugging it in to a computer.
I attempted to do this last night before 10pm and it is after 1pm and is still "cycling". (The little circle in the middle of a black screen that just goes round and round)
I've tried to power off with side and front buttons and I have plugged it into the computer as well. Computer is not recognizing it is even there.

Hi Griff W, Thank you for your response. I had found that article and did everything. I am on my MacBook Pro right now and this device, as well as my phone, smart TV, the Wii and Xbox are all reading our wi-fi connection (and I can see about half dozen neighboring networks). The issue with the iPad is that no list appears to choose from, much less forget and resign in. It worked fine before the update to iOS 5.1.1. I have tried everything I have read and could think about and come up with the "choose a network" with the thinking wheel just spinning and no list ever appears.

Thanks so much but none of that helped. It was driving me crazy because it would back up another external drive. I just changed the name of the drive from iPhoto/iTunes Library to Media Libraries and IT WORKED!! I guess for some reason it didn't like the drive being called iPhoto or iTunes ???? I don't understand but I have tried so many solutions and exchanging things out but the name change did it????!!!

I dropped my ipad, and now it will not work.

The screen went black, and when I press the power button it only gets a bit lighter. I have tried resetting it, by holding the home button and the power button at the same time, and the screen gets lighter, though the Apple logo will not appear. :/

I would make an appointment at the Apple store and have them look at it. It will likely require an out of warranty repair wich the cost will vary by iPad model.
