My iPad air is not showing anything on screen and its switched on.....?
I just reseted my iPad air and connected to my mac to restore backup and it rebooted but its not showing anything on screen after reboot and buttons are not working........ BUT i can see my iPad on iTunes on my mac.....????
FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...
Note:
1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY.
3. Repeat the process if necessary.

Make sure you register the software with Adobe. If you did not purchase it thru Adobe they will not have a record of the purchase in your account. -

They won't show in iTunes (iTunes is only used to copy photos to a device, not copy them off), but you should be able to copy them off either manually via My Computer (the iPad should show as a camera) or via windows camera wizard or windows live photo gallery depending upon your OS version.

I have a MacBook Pro with all of the latest updates and an iPad Air with all the latest updates. It has worked before and it is not working now. Today, try to update, sync.... my ipod. When plugged it into my computer and opened Itune, my device never shown on the left side of the screen as it used to! Can not find it anywhere????? Could you give me a tip on this matter.

Last time I sent back to the service center and they said it is the system problem and reset the system and charge me for the service because they said it is not a hardware problem. If the battery is very low, it can take 15 minutes or maybe even longer befor you will see any response at all on the screen. If you have let the iPad charge for what you think is a sufficient length of time and it still hasn't shown any signs of life, try a reset and see if that will force it to start up.
Hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo apperas on the screen and then let go of the buttons. If that still doesn't work, try charging the device again overnight. If it's still dean in the morning, try restoring the device with iTunes.

If that doesn't work, make an appointment at an Apple Store and seek their guidance. -
Tried to open an app and my iPad gen one froze. It only shows the apple on black screen and will show the operating wheel sometimes and while plugged in it will beep every few minutes. Will not load one show anything on screen but the small white apple.
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I'm sure I just don't have some random setting correctly, but can't figure out which one it is!
I purchased a new iPad Air 2 the other day and went through the activation/backup restoration process with no issues. HOwever, as I was sitting here playing with it, I realized I was not getting SMS texts from my mom. So, I went about trying to get it all set up. I have 2 options on my iPhone 6plus for SMS text forwarding, my desktop Mac and my old iPad. The new one does not show up in the list.
What do I need to do to get the iPad Air 2 to show up so I can get the activiation code and start sending/recieving SMS messages on the iPad again???

LoraOk....completely ignore! I figured it out!
Just in case someone else has this same problem: I simpley turned iMessage off on both devices and then powered them both down. Brought them both up individually and turned iMessage back on, iPhone first iPad second. Once they both requested me to sign back in, turned on forwarding and the activation code showed up immediately.
SMS messages now work on iPad and all is right in my world.....at least where these 2 electronics are concerned for now -

I've tried updating in the following conditions:
1. "Over The Air" at one location;
2. On a Windows computer running the latest version of iTunes at the same location;
3. On Mavericks (10.9.4) running the latest version of iTunes (11.4 (18)) at another location;
4. On Mavericks, latest iTunes over a VPN with a server location in US;
5. On Mavericks, using a 3G connection shared from an iPhone;
6. On Yosemite developer preview with a previous version of iTunes at the same location.
I got the same results in most cases except for an occasional error with code 9; I'll try again in other conditions.
Interestingly enough, I've successfully updated my devices to iOS 7.1.2 and to iOS8 GM without any issues at the same location but, of course, no two conditions are exactly the same -
