My ipad air was bought and activated AFTER September 1st (activated December 25th) and I downloaded pages, keynote and numbers. I then changed my Apple ID as the password no longer worked, These apps had to be deleted as I needed to update them. Now I cannot get the free version on my ipad. I have searched the internet to see if there is a solution, and I found a few but unfortunately none have worked. I desperately need these apps as my iPad is used for school. Is this an issue I should take up with the apple support centre or something? Please help! Thanks

Unless you had Find My iPad enabled on it then there isn't any way to locate it. If you did have it enabled then you could try locating it either via http://icloud.com on a computer or Find My iPhone on another device - but that will only work if it's connected to a network and the device hasn't already been wiped and/or Find My iPad disabled on it.
If you think that it was stolen then you should report it to the police. You should also change your iTunes account password, your email account passwords, and any passwords that you'd stored on websites/emails/notes etc, and if it was a cellular model then you should also contact your carrier -
I had my ipad air stolen and tried using the "find my ipad app" only to realize it won't even track it unless it it hooked to wi-fi! I am sure thieves figure out how to use it even with my pass code on. Is there ANY thing else that can b done to track it? Serial number possibly? Please please anyone with info please help!
No, there is no other way to track it. If you have a pass code set and are using iOS 7.x.x then the thieves simply have a bricked iPhone that is useless to them.

Hi, I have had my ipad air for about a month. The other day I took it out of its cover and it was splintered from the top with downward cracks. It is new and under warranty so I rang the support team. They told me that it would cost about €120 but could be repaired on the spot and they made me an appointment at the local genius bar. I got there and they told me that I had dropped it or banged it or something. I said I had not, they insisted that I must have done. I repeated several times that I had not - it was obvious they did not believe me, they said I must have done. They then told me they never repaired or replaced broken glass in any ipads, that the man on the 'Support' had been wrong. They always replaced the whole ipad at a cost of €300. I was devastated at not being believed and at the amount of money they were asking for. I left and rang the support again. I was told their system was down but to call on monday to get a quote for the reparation, I could send it to my home insurance company and they would undoubtedly cover the repair. I asked how long this was all going to take because, I was in the middle of a big project and this was taking up my time, and also I needed the ipad for my work. They told me it would be done in a minute. I rang on the Monday and I was told it would take up to 5 days to send but probably it would arrive sooner (it is now thursday, I have received nothing). I then rang my household insurance, a big company - and they told me they had never heard of such a cover. I asked if this was because I had a very basic policy, they said, no it wasn't that - I didn't have a basic policy I had quite thorough policy, but they didn't know of a policy in any comany that would cover this sort of damage. I was stunned - yet again I had been given false information and false hope by apple. Yet again I was let down. I then decided to do a further investigation on the internet and discovered a long trail of comments on Apple Forum of people who have also had splintering and cracking of the ipad air glass for no reason whatsoever. Some have commented that the glass could be thinner in order to reduce the weight, some have said that the splintering could be caused by a weakness in the casing at the top where it is plastic (the ones that take sims) that might make it more flexible and therefore liable to crack.
All of the posts and complaints on the apple forum and elsewhere seem to point to a design fault. However throughout all this I have been mislead by apple support staff constantly who all say different things, I have virtually been accused of lying by denying that my ipad received any kind of impact by apple staff and I have been left feeling incredibly frustrated and upset by the total lack of any kind of real help by Apple. All this despite being acomplet apple user in my business for the last 25 years, where I have never come across this attitude towards me as a customer before.
When the screen on my iphone broke, it was because I fell in the street while I was talking on the telephone, it flew out of my hand and smashed on the pavement. I was rolling around in agony, while my son was holding up the smashed telephone wailing 'Mama, you've smashed your iphone!!!' This of course, I blamed on noone but myself - it broke because it fell, I paid an arm and a leg without protest to get it repaired.
This is not the case with my new ipad air. It has splintered for no good reason at all - and noone at Apple seems to want to help me or to care!
I would really appreciate it if someone could tell me if there is anything else I can do to ge this matter resolved?If it was a refurb replacing one that was under warranty, the warrany is good until the original warranty expires or 90 days from replacement, whichever is longer. In either event, it should still be covered if you've only had it for a month. (assuming you're in the US here). You can try to restore it as a NEW device rather than restoring from your backup, but this sounds like a hardware failure... I think. I'm not sure what you mean by "the top half of the screen slides". If you mean only the top half is touch sensitive, how can you determine that? You wouldn't be able to slide to unlock if that were the case...

I was in Toys R Us getting my daughter a late Christmas gift tonight and while I was in the store someone broke in my car andd stole my new Ipad Air. I have Find My Iphone downloaded, but it cant be located. It says that it is offline. I am so upset. I just purchased this about a month ago. The police came out and took fingerprints but I am just wondering if there is anything else I can do. Please help!
I did that as soon as I realized it was stolen. I just feel like I should be doing something more than sitting around waiting for the police.

Make sure it's charged then try a reset. Press and hold both the home and power buttons until the Apple logo appears. Release both buttons. Wait until your iPad starts on it's own.

First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
And reboot your Wi-Fi router. Turn off the power for thirty seconds then turn it back on. -
IPad Air - Apps lost for no reason
Last night I lost 30 or so apps in one go.
I was doing nothing unusual, just installing FIFA 14. The app itself seemed to install ok, and appeared as if it was installed when I went to my recent purchases, giving me the run option. But its was not to be seem, and in no folders.
I did a reset and this then was the case for 30 or more other apps! As above looking in purchased as if they could run, but nothing happen when I pressed run.
In setting is told me I had 93 apps, but it was clear they weren't there when you went looking.
I've ended up deleting all and reverting to a back up for the other day!

IPAD AIR - Lost and Stolen. Can the thief use my locked device?
MY iPad Air was lost/stolen while crossing the border between Hong Kong and Lowu (Shenzhen).
The device is locked. Under the support/my devices it shows that my iPad is registered with Apple and I do have the serial number for the device handy.
I tried to use "FIND MY IPHONE" and the device does not show up. It is possible I did not activate that function although this is unlikely.
Can the thief use my device by erasing all the data? Can Apple trace the device and if so, who do I report it to at Apple ?

I also read somewhere that in the event I use the remote function via iCloud to delete the contents of the iPad, the thief could then use it. I have no intention of doing this.
I have just secured myself for now and changed all my passwords including the Apple user ID one.
I guess my best bet would be to report and register the number to the local authorities in case it gets returned / shows up by some good samaritan ? -
Good Evening! A few days ago my IPad air was working perfectly as always. In the evening I went home and when I opened the cover to swith it on I realised it doesn't work. I tried to energize the battery but got no response. I tried to make a hard reset but also it didn't help. I connected it to my PC with ITunes but it didn't see my IPad. I went to IPort office of my city, they looked, and told they will send me a new one because I still have a guarantee (my device was about 6 months). I had used ICloud but It happened so that the backup is not full and I have lost many very important for me photos of my family. ITunes copy wasn't full also. If anybody knows any Apple service in any city of the world please give me advice where to go to recover data from memory of my device. I understand it's my fault, I didnt properly take care of backup copy and also understand that the answer on my quetion is close to 100 percent negative, and such a companies probably don't exist. But will be really grateful for any advice. Thank you!
First of all: Your iPhone "present" was most likely hacked/jailbroken. The update you did bricked it and it is now useless. Apple will not repair this.
Second: The warranty is usually only valid for the country it was purchased in. Check before you buy.
Third: You can set English as default language on the iPhone . iPhone supports a myriad of diffrent languages. If you buy it Poland it doesnt matter.
