My iPad closes out my app all of a sudden

I will be using an app - doesn't really matter which one - and it will just close out.  It is frustrating. I have tried a hard reset, but it hasn't made a difference.  I have several apps that paused in a reload, and now I can't update them... It says unable to download application.  Does one have anything to do with the other.

  • My iPad will close out of apps or the Internet and return to the homepage. It is starting to do this more often. Why is it doing this and what can I do to fix it?

My iPad close out of apps and the Internet suddenly. What can I do to fix this?

Ok, that didn't work and only closed out this window in discussions. After it closed this one I tried again doing the same but nothing. Makes sense though because if it closed this one out it would close everything else out on my desktop too. This is like a giant screen saver. All my other .jpg icons are still on my desktop over the top of this big pic. Is it possible this is what it is, just a screensaver? I did the same with another pic from the same website and it didn't do this. I clicked on my mouse to save a pic to the desktop and this monstrous thing appeared.  My dock is still there and the top bar that has the apple, Safari, edit, etc., but not anything else that you would normally click on to close a window.

I have the same problem.  Yahoo Sportacular aborts every time I try to open it.  It attempts to load and then the device goes right back to the home screen.  The problem started April 26 after I switched leagues from NHL to NBA. Closing all apps and Restarting doesn't solve solve the problem.
All other apps on the iPad work fine.  IPad2, OS6.
Any other suggestions?  I suppose I could delete the app from the iPad and try re-installing it

  • HT201401 How do I close out my apps (Facebook, iTunes, etc.) so I don't run up my data usage?

How do I close out my apps (Facebook, iTunes, etc.) so I don't run up my data usage?

Generally just tapping the home button when in the app will close it. However, I feel you are referring to closing in the multi-tasking tray. Tap the home button twice, the list will come up. Then swipe upwards on the thumbnail of the app and it will close.

  • Why won't my iPhone 5c "go to sleep" unless it's on the lock screen? If I close out an app and am just on the home screen it just stays lit until I hit the button to force it to sleep...

Your issue is different from the OP's.  In the future, post your own thread to get answer to your specific questions.
For the OP: Go to Settings > General > Auto-Lock and set it to your preferred time.
For you: Create a backup and restore the device as new and test it to see if it still gets very hot.

  • HT1222 Why does my 4s just close an app all of the sudden and the apple logo will come up like it's shutting down but doesn't it will go to lock screen after that

Why does my 4s just close an app all of the sudden and the apple logo will come up like it's shutting down but doesn't it will go to lock screen after that.

It's definitely a crash. I'd maybe look into reinstalling the operating system.

Make sure you back up first though.

My ipad won't open up all of a sudden.  The battery is not dead. Is there a reset button?

Try holding down the sleep and home buttons for about 20 seconds. When you see the silver apple it's rebooting and just let it do its thing.

  • How do I close out old apps when I'm done using them

How divi close out apps when I'm done using them. Usually if I hold them an x would appear so I could close them out BUT ITS NOT WORKING!

Double tap the home button and all applications running in the backround will show, the ones at the bottom you press the x to close them from the menu.

  • TS3274 When I'm in an app, all of a sudden the app closes. This happens no matter what app I'm in.

When I'm in an app or online, all of a sudden my app will close or it takes me offline and goes back to my iPad desktop. What is making this happen?

If rebooting doesn't help - on the off chance that there is some memory issue going on with your iPad - and even though you are not supposed to have to close apps in order to free memory because iOS does this for you - and there are never, ever problems with how iOS handles memory - you could try closing all apps in the recents tray.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Close every app in the recents tray. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Restart the iPad and see if that does anything at all to help.
    For Safari issues...
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Data. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

  • Ipad 2 dismal wifi reception all of a sudden

all of a sudden, my iPad 2 wifi reception got really lousy.  in places where my laptops, phones, iPad One, etc all get great reception as far as distance go, the iPad 2 can't get reception unless I am 10 feet or less from a router/access point.  iPad One is five times as powerful in this regard.
Originally the problem was occuring under firmware 4.3.
    Updated to iOS5.01; no improvement.
Can't really see an app that would cause the problem, but if anyone has had this happen due to an installed app, please let me know which app.
Or, any other suggestions before heading up to visit the "genius's"?
As mentioned, all routers working just lovely thank you.
I noticed there were about 150 pages concerning iPad 2 wifi headaches, but none seemed to deal with a sudden decline in reception strength

took the offending ipad2 to the retail store...they restored to factory and then saw what we did: crummy reception, right inside the Apple store.  They then gave us a new one to replace the offending bad unit.
at least they are still a leader in customer support.  My suspicion is that an antenna died.

  • IPad 2 screen went black all of a sudden while i was using it. what do i do

i recently bought an iPad 2 its been working fine since. but today i was using it  and i was putting an app in a folder then all of a sudden the screen went black, iv tried pressing the home button and on/off  but nothing works

Assuming that the battery isn't empty (and it can take up to 15 minutes of charging before it will respond), then have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds, after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
