My Ipad doesn't connect to wifi while all other devices are connected.
My iPad doesn't connect to wifi anymore while all other devices in the same network are connected including iPod.
iPad was connected this morning, but quit connecting since this afternoon.
It tries to connect, but everytime connects, it disconnect within a second, and it keep doing the same thing.
This is the first time ever I see this problem since I started using this iPad.
What happened to my iPad??
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app
• Tap on Wi-Fi
• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Go to your ipod touch wireless settings chose your network and right beside there is button looks like ">" click on that check the dhcp what IP are you getting? do you get any ip? if you do your ipod touch should work with wireless no problem. Also, you may have to enter wep key again. After that it shou,d save your device

Macbook Pro won't connect to wifi while all other macbooks in house will.
I have a MacBook Pro running 10.6.8 and we got wifi at the house this afternoon. It will not connect, if I open network diagnostics the top four lights are green, internet and server are red. There are two other macbooks in the house(at least one also running 10.6.8) and two ipads, all of which connect with no problem. The macbbok in question connects fine at coffee shops and, up until a week ago, fine with the wifi at my last apartment.
We are using Charter and the router is a Motorola SBG941.
Thanks for any advice you can give!Change your router channel. Sometimes this is all you will have to do.
Power cycling the router. Read the router's user manual or contact their tech support for instructions.
System Preferences/Internet & Network/Network
Unlock the padlock
Locations: Automatic
Highlight Airport
Click the Assist Me button
In the popup window click the Diagnostic button.
System Preferences/Network- Unlock padlock. Highlight Airport. Network Name-select your name. Click on the Advanced button. Airport/Preferred Networks-delete all that is not your network.
Place a check mark next to "Remember networks this computer has joined." Click the OK button and lock the padlock. Restart your computer.

Ipad not connecting to Internet, but all other devices are
I'm using the original airport express...have a macbook pro and ibook connected to the wireless network and everything works just fine. Had my ipad 2 connected last night and it was working great. All of a sudden this morning it started showing a full airport signal but get a "Cannot Open Page...not connected to the internet" message.
In my ipad settings under my network I'm getting an IP address and Subnet mask but nothing under Router or DNS.
I have tried resetting ipad, airport, and router. Have tried renewing lease, and forgetting network.
I've been searching the internet for hours for other suggestions and can't find anythingt that's working or that I understand. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.Look at iOS Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398

IPod Touch stopped connecting to WiFi, yet all other devices do!
Hey there. My iPod (4th gen) just glitched and went off-line yesterday after I had some issues fixed with my linkys router. I was adding a new (used) MacBook Pro to my gadgets, and now the iPod is no longer connecting at all to my wifi. It DID work all evening though, following this router update...
(I'll never understand why it's so easy tp get online in a library or cafe, yet my own home wifi is a darn chore!)
Ok - Odd thing is: My old iBook G4 is online (wifi) upstairs, my old PowerBook is picking up fine, and even my 1st gen iPod has a connection!! o_O
Symptoms include:
Signing on using password etc, and getting the checkmark beside the name of the account, even getting 5 curved wifi bars in full (this is now random, but was a real teaser in the beginning), and yet NO internet connection. Nada. Argh. (1st world problems eh?)
I have tried:
Turning the device OFF, then back on.
Turning wifi off then on.
Resetting Network Connections.
Pressed "Forget this Network" and started again.
And I even went as far as to RESET my iPod in iTunes (lost all my apps etc, though they're on the laptop so...)
Updated the software (after this issue, not before...)
And not a thing. Ugh. Making me mental.
Do I have to set it back to Factory Settings? (May as well, since I'm willing to start over, most info is on my laptop too...)
ANY help would be appreciated. I use that iPod a lot around the home for the radio apps, and really miss the music!!
Thank You Thank You Thank You!!lllaass
This solved my questionRe: Problem with connecting iPod touch to wi-fi

Very frequently powering off and then back on the router resolves the problem. Try it. -
My iphone 4s will not update to ios 7. I'm trying to update this through my imac because the iphone will also not connect to my home wifi. I've tried several different things but nothing is working. I deleted enough pics and apps so there is enough storage. When i plug it in, it starts to bring all my photos to the imac. I cancel this because i don't want it. It then says extracting software, backing up iphone, then i get the error message. Do I need the iphone 5?
I just tried again, no code comes up on the imac. Just says cannot back up this device with my "initials" because of an error. It's weird because my iphone has been connected to othert wifi sources in the past. I've looked through these forums and have tried multiple things like resetting the phone, resetting network, shutting off modem and router, nothing works. I have an apple airport extreme router too. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
-
What can i do to fix it? My husband suggests I reset my phone but I'm afraid my data will be wiped off an that would be of total waste if the problem doesn't even get solved. Your help would be much appreciated!
There is no known malware capable of infecting an iPhone that has not been jailbroken (ie, hacked to allow apps from outside the App Store). If you have jailbroken it, you have exposed yourself to malware, and should restore the phone to factory defaults, without restoring a backup. All data will be lost, but that is unavoidable.
Most likely, you haven't jailbroken it, in which case you don't have to worry about malware. In that case, it's hard to say what's going on, but there are some things you can try.
First, try resetting your device. Press and hold both the home button and the sleep/wake button for about 10 seconds, until the screen turns off. Ignore the slider that will appear. Release the buttons, then press and hold the sleep/wake button until the Apple logo appears. This is the equivalent of a reboot, and should not affect your data or apps.
If that doesn't help, try restoring your device from backups, and if that doesn't help, restore it to factory settings (ie, do not restore a backup). See:
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1414
If none of that helps, the issue is caused by some kind of hardware problem, and the device will need to be repaired or (more likely) replaced. -
My daughers ipod can not connect to wifi. ALl other devices in our house do, so I am not sure if this one ahs been dropped too mnay times. All settings are fine, as I manage all the other devices, so I know it is an issue with this ipod.
Does the iPod connect to other networks?
Does the iPod see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iPod connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on the router
- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

My imac (2 yrs old) will not connect to my home wifi with the exception of my ISP hotspot. All other devices are fine (iphone, ipad etc). I have changed my ISP recently and this issue has never happened before. I am with my current ISP for about 7 weeks and this was not an issue for the first 2/3 weeks. Went through the usual set up procedures but alas...nothing. Message states unable to join network! Don't think it is an ISP issue as all other devices work perfect...or is it? As I said It did work at the start, but no longer. I recently moved to NJ from Ireland, so my imac is a European model (don't think that makes a difference?) I can only presume it is the settings on the imac. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thx
Hi - out of action for a few days. To answer your questions:
- and click on Advanced and make sure everything is correct - all in order
- Also check on your router's website to make sure the iMac is recognized there - it IS NOT recognized here as other devices are
- do you by chance have your router set up to do Mac filtering? - i don't know..how do I check?
Thx -
Mac connects to wifi, but internet doesn't work. Network diagnostics shows problem starts at ISP. All software is updated and all other devices are able to effectively use the wifi source.
Hi, KK93.
Sometimes a simple power cycle of the router and Mac can resolve the issue. However, try the steps in the article below to troubleshoot the Wi-Fi issue with your MacBook.
