My ipad froze after a failed upgrade to IOS6.

I was trying to upgrade my iPad 3 to IOS6 via iTunes, and it failed and has frozen my iPad.
It has the iTunes screen with a USB cord, but my iTunes doesn't recognize it. I've tried restarting both iPad & the PC, but nothing seems to unfreeze the iPad.
Any suggestions???

Be sure to Follow ALL the Steps...
But... if the Device has been Modified... this will Not necessarily work.

After reviewing your post, I have located an article that can help with your device. It contains a number of troubleshooting steps and helpful advice for the issue you are experiencing:
iOS: Not responding or does not turn on - Apple Support
Your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch may occasionally stop responding to buttons, switches, or touchscreen input and may exhibit one or more of these symptoms:
Does not return to the Home screen after you press the Home button
Does not wake from sleep after you press the Sleep/Wake button
Does not turn on (or power on) when you press any button
Does not start up past Apple logo
Appears frozen or unresponsive
Is unable to "Slide to Unlock" or "Slide to Power Off"
To troubleshoot these symptoms:
If a single application is not responding or stops responding when it opens, you can force it to close.
If the device is unresponsive or if certain controls aren't working as expected, restart your device.
If the device remains unresponsive or does not turn on (or power on), reset your device.
If there is no video or if the screen remains black, verify that the device has enough charge to turn on:
If you are using an iPad, ensure that it's connected to the USB Power Adapter supplied with the device.
Let it charge for at least twenty minutes, then see if it starts normally.
If there is no image on the screen, press the Sleep/Wake button to attempt to wake the device.

Lots of people having this problem? Hmm. For what it's worth I haven't seen that problem on my iPad 3
This is a user to user forum so no one here would have any idea whether there is a real problem and, if so, whether Apple is working on a fix.
Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after the iPad shuts down, then press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds). Ignore the "Slide to power off".

Upgraded ipad miņi to iOS 7. Cannot launch iBook. Crashes upon launching. Deleted app & reinstalled. (Several times) No difference. Still crashes. Am afraid to restart as fear the loss of purchased books :(

It started this morning.I've put some PDF files on my IBooks Shelves and right after, it started to go wild. If I open my IBooks, I can see the shelves and after, let say 7sec, it closes, even if I'm reading something that is not a PDF. I resetted my IPad mini, closed it, went to the IBooks settings in the Ipad settings, nothing works. I will try to put my PDF files on my Google Drive and delete them from IBooks. It must be a comparibility issue with something that comes from somewhere else then Apple.

IPad locked after trying to upgrade to IOs 8

Have iPad 2 and tried to update OS fro 6.x to 8.x through iTunes. Downloaded fine and began to install. Asked for passcode for iPad which I put in. Grey screen came up with Apple icon and progress bar. Progress went to about 95% and a box came up saying iTunes could not connect to iPad because needed passcode. Only options were more info, cancel or try again. There was no place to put in a pass code again. Tried "try again" but nothing happened. Now, the same screen is up with apple icon and progress bar at 95% but I can't do anything. Tried shutting off iPad but even after holding on/off button for 5 minutes, nothing other then the grey screen with progress bar. Looked up this issue and all "fixes" begin with shutting down the iPad, which I cannot do. Need help ASAP as battery on iPad will drain. As of now, iPad unusable. Thanks.

Update to above: was able to finally shut iPad off by pressing both the home button and the on/off button together. When I then push the on/off button for a few seconds, the black screen with the Apple icon comes up followed by a blank screen with "slide to upgrade" at the bottom of the screen. When I "slide" that, the next screen is number pad to put in the password. When I do that, the grey screen with the Apple icon and the progress bar comes up and the progress bar moves to about 95% whether the iPad is connected to my iTunes or not. If connected to my iTunes, I get the same box saying "iTunes could not connect to the iPad “D’s iPad” because it is locked with a passcode. You must enter your passcode on the iPad before it can be used with iTunes." It gives three options again: More Info, Cancel, Try again. If I hit try again, the box disappears and comes up again. Is there any way to remove the passcode at this time. After this problem, I tried upgrading my wife's iPad, but turned off the passcode first. Everything went fine. Seems the passcode is the issue or???. Anyone have any helpful ideas?? Thanks

Do you mean in the Mail app or the email account settings in Settings ?
Have you tried closing the Mail/Settings app completely and seeing if it works when you re-open it ? From the home screen (i.e. not with Mail/Settings 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail/Settings app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Recovery After OS failed upgrade

We will be upgrading our OS from Oracle Linux 5 update 2 to Oracle Linux 5 update 9. I want to ensure we can recovery if anything goes wrong. We have a three node RAC with the following setup:
Oracle Linux 5 update 2

Backup Software: Netbackup
Disks
OS and Oracle Software Installations on Mirrored Disk (ext3)
DATA Diskgroup on RAID10 (ASM)
FRA Diskgroup on RAID10 (ASM)
GRID Diskgroup on Mirrored Disk (ASM) -- OCR/Voting Disks/ASMParameterfile
SCENARIO: OS upgrade fails and we need to recovery to backup. Have OS/Oracle Software partition file-based backup. We have RMAN database backup.
Questions
* SysAdmin says he can only perform file-based backup of OS/Oracle Software partition. Is a file-based backup sufficent or is a image (bare-metal) backup required?
* ASMLib packages will be upgraded. Will this affect ASM Disk or data on ASM disks?
* What additional steps should be performed to ensure successful restoration?
* Any recommended steps that may not be required?

Filebased backup will be sufficient in my experience.
1. make sure GI is copied as root
2. to copy central inventory
3. /etc and Local Cluster Registry
4. make sure you do it at one node per time
5 .Even oracle os backup fails, the GI and DB homes can be copied and cloned over from other survived nodes

iPad upgraded to IOS7. Passcode was asked. I have totally forgotten the passcode. Connected the iPad to my computer for a reset, but window popped up saying to turn off Find my iPad in Settings. How can I do this, when I'm locked out ?

For all of those who are still searching, here's what I did:
You need to get into "DFU mode".
In order to do this, you
1. must have synchronised your ipad with itunes before it was blocked
2. first connect your iPad to iTunes and there make a backup of your iPad
3. turn off your ipad and wait at least 5 seconds
4. connect your ipad to itunes
5. turn it on again, this time pressing Power and Home button at the same time and holding them for EXACTLY 10 seconds
6. let go of the Power button while still holding the Home button for EXACTLY another 10 seconds.
7. Your screen must be black now. There must NOT be a picture of a USB cable on the screen because that would be a different mode than the DFU mode.
8. Itunes tells you that your device is in DFU mode
9. Go to the "summary" tab in itunes and click restore iPad
10. itunes gives a warning that all data will be deleted and your iPad will be reset to factory settings.
11. You accept and click through the process
12. In the process, you may reinstall your backup. The password will not be reinstalled.

Ipad froze after sync

It took a couple of hours for the ipad to sync. After that I tried to download the 4.xx software and all I got was a message on Itunes that said "waiting for ipad". I let that sit for 2 hours, but nothing happened. Itune still says that it's waiting for the ipad and the Ipad has apple logo on it with a line underneath. Now the Ipad is frozen and I can't turn it off or on and don't know what else to try. I've tried holding down the sleep/wake button, but that didn't work. Has anyone had this problem?

I tried to restart my macbook pro and tried syncing again.

because i had theses problèmes, i decided to flash my bios but the flashing operation crashed and my PC doesn't reboot ! how to recover my bios ?
the symptoms of my problem:
- windows display a "bizarre" bios information (advanced display property ) with XXXX instead real number
- in my case , it displays 512 Mo for my HD2400 256Mo !!
- and some resolution like 1680x1050 (for 22'' monitor) don't display correctly (hasardousat reboot)
- also, during video playing (whatever codec and player), there were any dead pixel always at the same place
so i decided to flashing the bios cause Windows didn't managed to identify it !
now, i just tried to flash the bios with the 6.10 release here :

but i had a error message "upgrade failed".
at the computer reboot, no signal and so no beep from the motherboard !!!

Can't access my Ipad mini after a failed software update. All I get is a black screen and a note to plug in my device in order to update itunes. The update failed and I am unable to get back in. I have rebooted a couple of times - no luck. Is there any way to bypass the update and get back in? Any ideas, Please?

The message telling you to plug into iTunes cannot be bypassed. That is not a message telling you to update iTunes. It is telling you to plug into iTunes on your computer.
You absolutely must restore the iOS a software or you will never get back into your iPad. You have to restore using iTunes on a computer.
Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings
However, you will most likely need to use Recovery Mode now.
