My iPad froze, then my passcode was not working.

I was using my iPad mini wifi 32GB, everything was going fine as i was looking through my pictures and videos with family. Then, out of nowhere, the iPad went dark and I couldn't restart it.
I set it down and after about 30 minutes and then tried again - the screen came on, but my attempts at entering my passcode did enable access to the device. I could pull up the camera function, but still no access to the device.
Then it went dark again and I haven't been able to get it back up. Even plugging it does not cause anything to happen.
Did I do something? Can I fix it or do I have to go to the Apple store?

It could be that the battery has completely drained and the iPad shut down. If this is the case it may take more than 30 minutes on the charger before the iPad responds. Use the charger that came with your iPad and plug that into a good wall outlet. Wait at least 30 minutes then reset your iPad. Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button continuously until the Apple logo appears. Then release the button and let the device restart. You will not lose data doing this. It's like a computer reboot. If the iPad restarts let it continue charge until the battery is at 100%. If the iPad still will not start Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.
You can restore from a backup if you have one from BEFORE you set the restrictions passcode.

Try a reset:
- Hold the home button and sleep/wake button down at the same time. When the Apple logo appears release both buttons then try and charge again.
If issue persists try:
- Another known working cable
- Check the charging port for any damage or debris
- You could also use a dry soft bristle toothbrush and gently brush it on the port to clean it of any debris that could be in there

Are you sure there is an English language version available?
You'll just have to continue with the download and then delete the movie.

In response to all of your responses. I imported my pictures from my camera- that worked fine. I tend to use Iphoto.
Then I synched my MacBook and Ipad 2, that worked fine except when I synched my Ipad for it's normal 2 week synching it copied the pictures again. Now I want to get rid of the duplicates/triplicates- my albums were also broken up and need to be reorganized. I have tried all of your suggestions - thank you-

iOS: Wi-Fi or Bluetooth settings grayed out or dim
One user reported that placing the iPod in the freezer fixed the problem. A trick that works frequently with iPhones:
Settings > AirPlane Mode ON, Do Not Disturb ON
Power down and wait 5-10 minutes
Power up
Settings > AirPlane Mode OFF, Do Not Disturb OFF

Does the iOS device connect to other networks?
Does the iOS device see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:

This is possible to be connected to WiFi but not internet.
You connect to your modem/router via WiFi and whether it is connected to the internet or configured properly to route the internet to WiFi devices is a different story.
Now if you've already reset your WiFi (try disabling and enabling) and perhaps even restarting your MBP
Then make sure that your modem/router is connected to the internet.
You can try any other device, lights on the modem/router or use Eth cable to test.
Report back your findings.

Your problem is that you've hacked your phone to unlock it. Apple warns that if you do this things may not work properly or work at all. Unfortunately, there is no support for hacked iPhones here, per this forum's terms of use.
You'll have to go elsewhere for help.

This utility works very well in PSE so it is a good idea to clear the registry entries using the official tool from Adobe.
If you have other products then PLEASE DON'T USE THIS TOOL BECAUSE THE TOOL CLEARS EVERYTHING FROM THE SYSTEM PERTAINING TO ADOBE. (sorry about capital letters but it is essential you read it carefully)
