My iPad gives off a strange vibration when charging, is this safe?

I charge my iPad 3 almost daily, and when I use it while charging I feel a slight vibration coming from it. I wasn't too concerned until I noticed that if I touch my partner while using it, I can feel the same vibration. Is this normal? It's worrying me!

Not normal. Take it to an Apple Store for evaluation.

  • Strange vibration when charging...

My ipod nano has begun to vibrate when I'm charging it at the wall socket. Is this normal? I'm a little worried the battery may explode or something exciting like that. Advice would be appreciated.

if it is a vibration then you'll feel it if you touch the plastic display
if you only feel it when touching the metal case it is the leakage current
it is the charger that causes it, some types of charger do it more, some less

  • IPad 2  has become very slow when charging

Since I upgraded to ios 7, my iPad 2  has become very slow when charging. And the battery drained very fast. I cannot put it on standby but need to power off completely when I am not using it. This is very troublesome.

Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
    Then restart the iPad.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, then swipe the slider to power off.
Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
    Then try charging the battery.

  • Turn off vibration when charging

I have my phone with no vibration and on mute, yet it vibrates whenever I plug it in to charge. How can I remove this?
    Thanks

As far as I know, you can't, it is a feature to confirm the connection between the phone and the charger. It will only stop vibrating when you switch off the mute button, but this will give you the connection sound back instead.

  • Black screen but vibrates when charging

I knocked my phone on the table and now the screen is black but it continues to vibrate when I have it plugged into my charger - HELP

You'll need to reload the OS software to the phone.

The post specifies the Storm model in particular, but the process is the same for any BB device.

  • Strange vibrations while charging

My mother bought herself an 8Gb 2nd gen iPod touch for christmas, and has been using it non stop every day, even while charging (using an Apple branded USB ac power adapter)
Today while she was playing "Trism" (her favourite game). I happened to touch her hand, and noticed a strange vibration feeling (it's very hard to describe, not like a mobile phone vibrate, but more subtle) when the USB cable was disconnected, the vibration stopped.
My mother is now very worried and so I would love any help as to whether she should take it back, what's actually going on, or whether others have noticed this, (I personally haven't noticed it on my 1st gen 32Gb iPod touch)
    Thanks in advance.^^

Mine does this too it feels like electrisity and tingles my hands. I think I has to do with the USB cable though because the tip of it it is also vibrating. It could be leaking electrisity and then the case of the iPod is conducting it.

  • How to turn off sound Ipaq mini when charging

I still kepp My Ipaq mini on , then I turn off screen only. Plugin charge . But later , It make noisy short sound , and repeat all time un till i disconect charge  . Even I Power off , I paq automatic on again and sounding while charging . I don;t want to minimum sound from setting. But I want to disable that sound . Someone help?

I have to agree this is the most annoying thing about the iPhone.  The chirp when it charges.  I had a situation the other night where my phone was on analog roam (uses a lot of power) and ever couple of minutes it would chirp (assume it was because it found a network, charged, and then went analog and discharged and the cycle repeated!!).
The phone was next to my bed since I use it as an alarm clock.  Basically using the mute switch toatally makes the iPhone usesless as an alarm clock which is why it was next to my bed!  Apple seriously needs to fix this issue.
Dear Apple, please make the battery notification sound user selectable.  Thanks.

  • IPad vibrates when charging

    Hi
I've noticed that when my iPad is charging in it's dock that the back of the iPad gently vibrates and there is a tingling feeling when touched.  I have found a lot of similar posts across the web but none give a definitive answer.  Does anyone know if this is normal behaviour or is there a problem?
    Many thanks

Could you expand on the following...
This sensation may be alleviated by turning the AC plu 180 degrees.
That is certainly true in the U.S. and other countries with 110VAC.  I have two 110VAC lines coming from the power company.  Each one is 110VAC relate to earth ground.  They're phased 180 degrees apart and there is 220V between them.  In my house, earth ground is obtained by a connection to the cold water pipe on the feed side of the meter.  Also, a "Neutral" is created by a connection to ground.  Although they are carried on separate physical wires, Ground and Neutral are electrically identical.
"Normal" appliances and receptacles utilize the 110VAC line and the Neutral line.  The ground wire is carried as a safety mechanism in case the Neutral breaks.  (Otherwise, the human might provide a path to ground, which is unpleasant, at best.)  Heavy duty appliances (such as electrical clothes dryers) utilize both 110VAC lines and no Neutral and operate at 220VAC.  The Ground is still present for safety.
SOME 110VAC devices have plugs that include a third prong for Ground.  These plugs can not be reversed 180 degrees.  SOME 110VAC devices have plugs that do not have the third prong but are mechanically polarized (one prong is wider than the other).  These plugs also can not be reversed.  The Apple charger does not have a Ground prong and does not have a polarized plug and therefore can be reversed.
Turning the plug 180 degrees changes which wire inside the charger is connected to Neutral and therefore to Ground and that frequently eliminates what we refer to as "60 cycle hum" (in the old days, Hz was known as cycles/second).
By the way, my reference to "110V/220V" is the result of common usage where I grew up.  Others call it 115V/230V or even 120V/240V.  The actual values could be anything in that range.
Now, can anyone educate me regarding the wiring Europe?

  • Samsung Galaxy S4 won't turn on, and will only vibrate when charging?!

My Galaxy S4 had a meltdown of sorts.  It suddenly stopped charging and happened when I had 1% battery left.  Once the phone died and I tried keeping it on the charger and everything, it would only vibrate about every three seconds with a pitch black screen, and that was only occasionally.  I did all the obvious things to try.  I also tried plugging the usb charger into my computer; that seemed to help at first with a different result but only gave me the battery symbol on the phone in black and white with the circle in the center not moving and not charging. I tried to do the hard reset and also tried a friends charger and neither worked.  When plugged into the computer, a pop up sometimes comes up and says the device you have plugged in has malfunctioned and cannot be read.
I am currently out of the country for another 2 months, so finding help for this in a store won't exactly be easy.  Any help will be appreciated greatly!

        booperman13,
Zoinks! Sorry to hear you are having trouble so far away. It sounds like it was working fine when you first replaced the battery and you had previously done a factory reset. The computer isn't recognizing it and it isn't charging. So, by process of elimination, based on what you have described it sounds like there might be a problem with the USB cable.
Since you replaced that battery have you tried another charger? That might give us greatly clarity as to the nature of the problem. As you are currently out of our reach, if it works fine with another charger and you need to replace it, I would reach out to Samsung for assistance with finding a local provider that has their charger or usb cable in their inventory: http://bit.ly/1v0IVFI .

  • My iPhone 4S won't turn on and continues to vibrate when charging

My iPhone 4S will not start and when i charge it, it continues to vibrate. I don't know what to do.. Any ideas??

Sorry, but we can't help you with problems occurring after you have opened and tried to fix some hardware of the phone, due to the Terms of Use of these discussions.
The warranty for the phone is gone now and Apple will not service the phone either anymore. You'll have to look for a 3rd party repair center to get that fixed.

  • IPad Air's touch goes crazy when charging.

When I charge my iPad Air with a ipad2 10w charger (apple) The touch becomes very inaccurate. The screen will shake and apps will start to open. If I unplug the charger all is well. I believe Apple has said that the 10w is compatible with the iPad Air, but it will charge slower. Has anyone else had this issue?

Does that charger still work with the iPad 2 or is that iPad gone now? It sounds like there might be a short in the charger.

  • Using US Mac Pro in EU, computer vibrates when charging. Is this normal or should I be concerned?

I've used other macbooks when traveling in Europe (specifically Italy) in the past with no issues. I have a new (or new-ish OSX 10.7.4) macbook pro. This time when I plug it into charge the whole laptop vibrates. I know that the computer should be capable of converting the voltage, but I don't want there to be a problem and have it fry my battery or even worse, my memory.

Could be that they use a different frequency (50 Hz vs. the standard 60 Hz used in the Americas). If so, no biggie as the power brick is universal and can operate from 100 to 240V, 50 to 60 Hz. Just make sure to use a properly grounded outlet and the grounded cable on the power brick instead of the Godawful "duck's bill" adapter.

  • Macbook Pro feel like vibrating when charging

When I charge my battery and continue to work on my Macbook Pro, the part of the Macbook where you rest the heals of your hands when typing vibrates, it is very fine and feels like the casing is electrostatically charged. Anyone else get this/can explain this? Is this bad for my MBP late 2011?

Many have reported the same. But none said it was a problem.
If MBP has 7200 RPM HD, it may produce vibration.
