Hi,
Depends on what's wrong. You have 14 days from date of purchase for a refund or exchange.

  • It appears my iPad has died...opened this morn

It appears my iPad has died...opened this morn & nothing on dark screen cept image of upright D size battery nearly empty with abit of red at bottom & sort of lightning bolt off to the side....so far, wall charge has done nothing.

Could be the charger, cable or iPad. Plug the USB cable into your computer. It may say "Not Charging", however, it is charging slowly and will verify that the cable is good.
Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. In rare instances when using the Camera Connection Kit, you may notice that iPad does not charge after using the Camera Connection Kit. Disconnecting and reconnecting the iPad from the charger will resolve this issue.

  • My new iPad has died!!

I have a new (1month old) iPad 3 and it wont restart after I shut it down because it was behaving oddly. I have tried holding the power and go buttons down for more than 30 Seconds but it is dead! it was fully charged when I picked it up but have tried leaving it on the charger for 10 mins before trying the usual reset option.
It started when I tried to tap on Safari which imediately shut down before it had completed booting up. This happened every time I tried so I thought I would shut down the iPad and re-start it. It shut down ok but will not start again!!!

Yeh. Thanks for the advice. It was kinda what I expected really, but its a bit of a pain!!
I have tried plugging it to the pc but that did nothing. There has been no damage to it. It all looks fine and I have examined it closely in case those pesky kids had got their hands on it!! But it does look fine. Its off to the Apple Store in the morning for me!!!

  • HELP!! My ipad has died!!

    Hi.
I was on my ipad last night and had about 15% charge. I went upstairs, when I came down, my ipad had gone off. I just presumed that there had been less charge than I had realised and it had closed down. When I tried to charge it this morning, there was no power there at all. It won't come on, charge or link to my computer. I can't get to the Apple store for a few days so was wondering if this had happened to anyone else, or if anyone has any advice. My ipad is less than 2 months old, I'm lost without it!!

    Thank you King_Penguin!
My iPad was 89% charged and the screen went black while I was emailing pictures from it. I tried charging it and connecting it to my laptop and it was unresponsive.
After reading this, I held the sleep and home buttins down similtaneously for 10 seconds and it worked!

  • Hi, Unfortunately my Laptop has died (which had my iTunes on it). I want to ensure my music on my iPhone 5 and my iPad Air are backed up. Also, I want to sort my music in the way I used to with iTunes. How can I do this with just these two devices?

Hi, Unfortunately my Laptop has died (which had my iTunes on it). I want to ensure my music on my iPhone 5 and my iPad Air are backed up. Also, I want to sort my music in the way I used to with iTunes. How can I do this with just these two devices, i.e. NO Computer? Can the iCloud help? Why can't I download iTunes (i.e. my library as I saw it on the computer) to these devices? Thanks to anyone who can help me here.

You can change the email address of one's appleID...
I'd recommend changing moms email to yours to get a good backup on the Mac
Then switch mom's back to hers
Then change your account to the same email you used.
I've done something similar when I needed to update my Apple account (one ID changing email addresses and phone)

  • Ive had my iPod classic for some time now, and up to now have been using my laptop to sync songs from iTunes.  Unfortunatley, the laptop has died and I'm thinking of buying a iPad.....but how do i now get any songs downloaded from iTunes to my iPod?

I've had my iPod classic for some time now, and up to now have been connecting it to my laptop to sync any downloaded tunes from iTunes.  Unfortunately, the laptop has died and I'm thinking of buying a iPad.....but how do I now get any songs downloaded from iTunes to my iPod?

If an iPod is set to update automatically it will be associated with a particular library. If you connect that iPod to a different computer or a different library on the same computer you get the the message you are referring to. "The iPod "iPod Name"is linked to another another iTunes music library. Do you want to change the link to this iTunes music library and replace all existing songs and playlists on this iPod with those from this library". To use an iPod on multiple computers you change the update method to "manually manage songs and playlists". You can also use multiple iPods on a single computer so you will be able to connect both of your iPods to your existing iTunes. Connect the new iPod and follow the on screen instructions, iTunes will open and update your iPod.
    For info:
The iPod offers three ways to transfer music from your computer. You can select one of the following update modes from the iPod Preferences menu in iTunes (Edit=>Preferences=>'iPod' tab):
    1) Automatically update all songs and playlists. This is the default mode, in which your entire music library, including playlists, is automatically synced to your iPod. If the music library on your computer exceeds the iPod storage capacity, you are prompted to select a different update method.
    2) Automatically update selected playlists only. With this option, iTunes automatically copies the playlists you have selected to the iPod when you connect it to the computer.
    3) Manually manage songs and playlists. You can also choose to transfer music to the iPod manually. This allows you to drag and drop individual songs and playlists from iTunes to the iPod.

  • Has anyone had their IPAD just die?

I picked up my ipad to read a book and it will not turn on. Plugged it in to charge this morning and now it is dead.

IT's possible that your battery has died. You can make an appointment at your local apple store and have them take a look at it.

  • I have an ipad wi-fi cellular 32gb. Died in march after 3 month has been replaced now the replacement has died, holding home key and button on top doesnt work at all,  not even if left over night and the next day and night, still nothing.

I was given a ipad after xmas 2012. Within a month it was freezing up and returned to apple to replace. It was sent straight back to me saying it was fine. The day I got it back it was faulty again only this time it was worse, it was switching itself off and turning itself back on when it liked. A back up and restore was completed AGAIN. 3 weeks later it was sent straight back to apple to be replaced, this time a higher authority from apple in brisbane said it was to be replaced immediately. Which it was. Then within 6 weeks this ipad the replacemetn ipad has started having issues by turing itself off. Now it has completely shut itself down and off. Charge was at 81%. I put it on charge as maybe the %% was wrong. A few hours later, tried turning it on by holding top button, nothing happened  I have also held down top button and home key for 10 sec, nothing so I tried longer nothing happened. Rang apple support and they have suggested holding top button down for 10 sec then add home key for 10 sec both top button and home for 10 sec then they top button off followed by leaving home key for 10 sec by itself. This did not work. I have tried this again this morning and again at lunch at work and again now tonight. Still nothing at all. Even plugging it into the computer doesn't do anything at all. Has anyone else come across this at all with two ipads doing exactly the same thing. My power points are fine, I've had an electrician check them and my computer is fine aswell. I stumped as to what can be going wrong. Thanks

  • Pc with I-Tunes on has died ???

    Hey
Ok so my pc with i tunes on it has died and gone to the big pc graveyard i didnt back up my i tunes (silly i know) How do i get my music from my i pod to my new pc ?? if i plug it in and and sync it wont it wipe it clean as there is nothing on i tunes to sync it to. Any advice would be appreciated Thanx

Depending on what country that you are in then you might be able to re-download past purchases from Apple, or you can copy them off the iPad to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases. As you haven't got a backup, then for music purchased from other sites or copied from your own CDs you'll need to find a third-party program that can copy them off.

  • My iPad just died. The gear symbol came up and then the screen went blank (turned off). It was fully charged so that wan't the issue.

My iPad just died. The gear symbol came up and then the screen went blank (turned off). It was fully charged so that wan't the issue.

That is indicating that the device has gone into recovery mode. Press just the Power button until the red Power Off slider appears and slide to turn it off. Then power it back up to see if it has exited Recovery Mode. If it has, then you should be good to go.
If it has not, then the issue you had that caused the iPad to turn off was one that put your device into Recovery mode requiring that you go through the recovery process (i.e., the reset did not process since the issue required a recovery to resolve). Here is a link that explains what you need to do to get out of Recovery Mode in that case:
