My ipad has lost it's connection to my home computer

I was using face time on my ipad and I lost my internet connection. I can't connect to my home internet. There is a long symbol next to my home computer name and how do I reconnect?

"There is a long symbol next to my home computer name and how do I reconnect?"
Next to your home computer name where - on the iPad? Or do you mean next to the home network name? What long symbol? I don't use FaceTime so maybe you are referencing some thing in the app that I'm not familiar with.
Anyway, if you lost your internet connection try rebooting your router. Unplug it for about 30 seconds and then plug it in again.

My MacBook Pro has lost it's connection to my home wifi. I made no changes to my Mac or router it just would not pick up the signal when I turned it on one day. Wifi works fine for other laptops and iPhone, and laptop is picking up other wifi signals. I have tried suggestions here such as resetting PRAM etc but can't seem to find posts with same problem

No. I see other networks but not mine. And when I try to type it in manually it says 'connection timed out'

    Hello, AndrewR2.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I would need clarification on this issue to provide a better answer.  However, it sounds like your computer may not recognize your iOS devices  I would recommend manually installing the Apple Mobile Device driver as outlined in the article below.  Start with the section labeled Verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed > Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 > If the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is not listed > Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8.
iPhone, iPad, or iPod not recognized in iTunes for Windows

  • What does it mean when it says "ipad has lost it's pairing"

what does it mean when it says "ipad has lost it's pairing"

If you are getting that message when you try to sync your iPad, eject the iPad, quit iTunes, restart your computer, reset the iPad and then try to sync again.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If that doesn't work, just try using a different USB port.

My ipad has no wi-fi connectivity.  When I attempt to use Safari I get a "server stopped responding" message.  Is this a Settings issue?

    Try this:
    1. Turn router off for 30 seconds and on again
    2. Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

My ipad has lost its sound how can I get it back

    Hi MsVee18,
If you are having audio issues with your iPad, you may find the following article helpful (it is aimed at the iPhone, but the steps should apply to the iPad as well):

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Check your settings. The iPads have a small switch on the right edge. It can be used as a rotation lock to keep the screen from automatically reorienting itself as you move around, but you need to have the tablet’s settings configured properly. That same switch, right above the volume buttons, can also be set to function instead as a mute button to silence certain types of audio.
If the switch is set to work as a mute button, you can change its purpose to “screen-rotation lock” by tapping the Settings icon on the home screen. On the Settings screen, tap General on the left side, and on the right side of the screen flick down to “Use Side Switch to.” Tap to select Lock Rotation or Mute to set the button’s function. Even if you set the side switch for your preferred use, you can still mute the Mini or lock the screen. Just double-click the Home button, and when the panel of apps appears along the bottom edge of the screen, flick the row from left to right with your finger. Tap the icon on the far left side of the row to either lock the iPad’s screen or mute the iPad’s alerts, notifications and sound effects. Music, podcasts and video are not muted unless you turn the volume all the way down.

  • My ipad has lost the Settings icon on main screen?? how do i get it back

My ipad has lost the settings icon on main screen?? how do i get it back? or reset the ipad

Swipe from screen to screen to look for it. It cannot be deleted from the iPad.
You can reset the the home screen layout but that returns the home screen to the original out of the box set up - but it will restore the icon to the home screen.
    Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout.

  • My ipad has lost power?

my ipad has lost power, it won't charge either, help!!

By lost power do you mean it won't charge or won't switch on ? If switch on, then have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 seconds, after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot. Happened to me once, about 6 months ago, and a reset got it working again.

If these don't work you may have a hardware problem. If so, contact Apple support or visit an Apple store.
