My iPad has tons of scuffs on the aluminum, is it removable?

My 1st generation iPad has TONS of scratches and scuffs in the rear, is there anything that is able to remove it?

since its brushed matte aluminum NO
removing scratches from aluminum is very easy, getting it to blend down to the matte finish requires pro skills
having polished metal for many years, I know this firsthand, also nobody in an Apple store will do metal finishing work.
consider them personality marks and buy a good protective case

My ipad has suddenly stopped connecting to the intenet via my home wifi system. The settings have notbeen changed. why is this?

The first thing to try is to power down your modem and router for about 30 seconds, then repowering by plugging them back in.
Also, if that doesn't work, on your iPad you can try going into settings/safari/clear history/clear data and cookies.

When did this deletion happen?  Which version of iOS 8 do you have on your iPad? Depending on your settings you may not see My Photo Stream on the iPad any longer.  With iOS 8 "My Photo Stream" will only show on the iPad, if you did not enable iCloud Photo Library (Beta).

Try and force iPad into Recovery Mode
    1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
    2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
    4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: Data will be lost. You may have to repeat the above many times.

  • My iPad has a software problem within the first year, but I am in South Africa.

My iPad has a software problem within the first year. When I bought it, I took an Apple care plan with it. At the moment I am in South Africa for my internship and when I go to a premium reseller, they are not able to fix my iPad or change it because they say that they are not an official Apple store. What should I do now? I stay here till the end of December and I would like to use it during my internship.

  • IPad has a feature or insert the SIM card and use it as normal phone?

I tried to insert the SIM card into the drip tray iPad but was too small. iPad has a feature that is inserted into the SIM card and the normal operation of the phone?

The only way to use an iPad as a phone is via one of the Voice-Over-IP services such as Skype.
As to your SIM issue, the iPad requires a micro-SIM, and you apparently tried to use a standard SIM. But such SIMs get you access to data services only; as pjl123 said, the iPad has no phone capability built in.
    Regards.

Now the iPad had a black screen with the Apple symbol and the processing symbol going around and around. When I tried to re connect it to iTunes is says "cannot connect to this iPhone due to error". How do I reset the ipad?

  • We are on holiday in Mexico. Our iPad has no problem connecting to the Internet through a subscription WiFi network. But, both of our laptops can not with the same password. What can we try?

We are on holiday in Mexico. Our iPad2 has no problem connecting to the Internet through our hotel's subscription WiFi network. But, both of our macbookpros can not with the same password. What can we try?
We can join the network, but can not access the Internet. The password is correct. We have tried network assistant and diagnostics, restarting the laptops, re-joining the network. Our iPhone 4s also works all the time.
Same location. Signal strength is good.

Since I couldn't figure out a way to edit our original post, here's another potential clue.
Our laptops, when in System Preferences>Network, say "WiFi has the self-assigned IP address of XXXXXXXXX and will not be able to connect to the Internet".
Strangely, my six year old MBP running OS 10.6.8 accessed the Internet straight away, just by opening Safari to my home page. My wife's six month old MBP running OS 10.7.2 could not.

  • I believe my iPad has a keystroke logger-how to detect-how to remove?

I Believe my iPad has a keystroke logger. It is the only way I have accessed my online banking which has been hacked.
is there a way to confirm this?
is there a way to remove it?
my iPad is not jail broken, never has been.
only accessing bank using my home wifi network which is password protected.

I'd contact bank and turn off internet access to your account. I might even change banks.  I know this would be a pain, but do not know what to do.
Read through all the stuff below to increase security, but forgoing internet access to your account is the only way to be sure.
I do not use Internet banking.  Everyone is being hacked these days. I have remote access to one of my bank accounts, but cannot do much but look at my account.  I have a discover card and Discover lets me take out $80 in cash for free when I am at the grocery store.  I use a credit card for every payment that I can.
As someone said earlier, you could reload the software on your iPad.
You could try a different browser, like Chrome.  In your situation, I'd recommend using another browser.  ios is sandboxed so in theory, no other application should be able to access the data in Safari.  That said, there is a lot of malware associated with web sites these days.  Perhaps, Safari picked up some junk. Pick another web browser. Use it with only your bank and that's it.
Restore to factory settings by loading the latest version of ios that your machine will support:
Do a full backup of your device.  Twice is best -- cloud and computer.
While I recommend backing up, I do not recommend using the backup to reload things on your iPad.  Do everything manually.
"You can use iTunes to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to factory settings and the latest version of iOS."
