My iPad have connectivity issues: wi-fi intermittent

Hello everybody,
I had read a lot of stuff about this kind of problem here and I had tried differents posibles solutions and nothing yet, my problem still on and it's really annoying.
This is my case:
I have an iPad2 since september last year and this wi-fi intermittent conectivity issue starts last week, my wireless router is a NETGEAR using WEP encryption (since forever), I also using an iPhone, my HP laptop and my xbox 360 console and none of this products present this type of problem only my iPad.
I reset the wi-fi settings, last night I reset my iPad to factory settings (brand new), I change the wireless channels in my router, I add the mac address to the "secure" list in my router and the problem continues, I also spoke with Apple Technical Support and he recommended change the encryption from WEP to WAP2. I will try this later at home.
Does anybody have a real solution to fix this problem??? or I just need to send my iPad to a Apple support center and wait if my iPad do have a hardware problem???
Thank you and I hope you guys can help me.

My iPad has the same problem.  Connects to wifi, has internet access (safari, facetime etc) but won't connect to iTunes store or Netflix.  Reset router, reset network settings, reloaded Netflix app, tried to reload iTunes app, but not an app apparently.
Also when I try to check for updates, it says "unable to check for updates"

  • TS1398 Ever since I upgraded to iOS 7.0.4 my wifi strength is very weak and I have connection issues all of the time.

I upgraded my iPad 3 to 7.0.4 and now I have wifi issues I never had before and apple customer support is no help. Does anybody know how to solve this issue?

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

  • Ipad Mini Connection Issues on 2.4Ghz

My Ipad Mini seemed to be working fine across all wifi networks for the first week or so, but recently I've found it either won't connect at all or stay connected for long on networks running 2.4Ghz routers.
I called Apple support and took it into the Apple store, but they weren't able to tell what was wrong because it connected to their wifi right away.
I'm convinced it has to be an issue specific to 2.4gHz networks.
I have no problems with wifi connectivity on my parent's 5g network, but if I attempt to switch to the 2.4ghz I get the same "Unable to connect error" that I recieve from all the other places I'm having problems. I've read conflicting reports about what is causing this issue, but I'm just about ready to give up on this thing and take it back.
Anyone else having this problem or know of a solution?

I have had the same problem with the mini ( no connectivity on 2.4 ghz, but OK on 5.0 ghz) and convinced the folks at the Apple store to replace it. The Apple store network in this area is only 5.0 ghz, and I had to use the adjoining 2.4 ghz department store network to convince them that the mini radio was at fault. We have five ipads in the family, and the mini is the only unit to display this problem. It  appears to be a hardware fault, but all the advice on this forum relates to software resetting of various forms and that did not solve the problem for me. Try the Apple store again, as replacement may be the only answer.

  • HT4437 iPad AirPlay connecting issues for apple tv

I have my apple tv plugged into an ethanet cable but the iPad will not connect to the tv via AirPlay. I have tried everything that the troubleshooting have said and nothing works. How do I connect my iPad to AirPlay

Can you run your atv on wifi, without the cable?  Try that and see if you get a connection from the pad.   if so, that means there is a something going on w the router.
If you cannot get the pad connected wirelessly at all to the atv, then there is  some other pad related issue going on.

  • IPad OpenVPN Connectivity issue

    Hi there,
I'm using the OpenVPN client on an iPad 3 running iOS 8.1.2. I am able to authenticate and connect to our VPN just fine. However, when I try and access a website that is only accessible behind our VPN, I'm unable to. I just get 'this webpage cannot be found', the same error you get if you try and browse while offline.
All other websites (e.g. apple.com) work when connected to the VPN.
I have tried to access the same website on my mac, using the same OpenVPN client, same vpn etc, and it works perfectly. Does not even prompt me to accept a certificate.
Has anyone else had issues using the openVPN client on iOS? Any help would be hugely appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Are you trying to browse ".local" domain Websites?
Are you using Mac OS X 10.9.x on your Mac?
I faced the same issue on my laptop (Tunnelblick & Mac OS X 10.10.1).
Since Yosemite and iOS 8, the system uses mDNS (multicast DNS) queries to resolve .local domains (instead of sending standard DNS requests to the DNS server that has been set on the network). To fix the issue on Yosemite, you can have a look at https://gist.github.com/CodingMinds/509bd12a7c7e22f0cfdd
but I don't know if there is any solution on iOS 8.1.2.
Edit: I've found out this page about iOS 8: Unable to resolve unicast DNS names that end in .local in iOS - Apple Support

  • Has anyone had any issues getting iPad to connect to Apple tv following ios8 update?

HI i was wondering if anyone has experienced any issues connecting their iPad to watch films through Apple tv following the iOS 8 update. Prior to downloading the update everything worked fine now my iPad isnt picking up the Apple TV device at all despiteairplay being shown as on and them both being connected to the same wifi network.

I'm saying to wait a bit longer. If it were mine, I would want it to work in every aspect and fashion. I will ocassionaly have connection issues on mine, but only occasionally. I can usually resolve them on the spot.
It sounds odd to me that it would start working with your home network all of suddent without making any changes. However, I've had similiar experiences with computers and electronic devices in general. Having trouble connecting to one particular network, other than at home, would be something that I could live with. Having trouble with many, I could not live with.
How did you restore it last time? If you used itunes then try directly on the ipad. Do the opposite of what you did before.
Be aware, this might put you back at square one again with the wifi issue at home.
But if it were me, I would restore back to factory settings again, just to satisfy my own curiousity.

  • Oracle RDB driver – Version 3.01.00.01 Connectivity Issue

I have a SQL Server 2000 extended stored procedure connecting to an Oracle RDB data server via an ODBC connection (using Oracle RDB driver – Version 3.01.00.01). The SQL Server 2000 runs on a Windows 2000 Server.
This extended stored procedure opens up multiple database connections and maintains them for processing. Usually, everything runs fine.
However, every so often, we have connectivity issues. What happens is as follows:
When we bring a station down and then try to reconnnect, our connection is denied, and we get the error: "recv() unexpected close Ret 0 Err#0 UNKNOWN Unknown WINSOCK Error 0". (This error is logged by the .dll running in the SQL Server processing space.) From the first time we receive a connectivity error like this until the Oracle RDB box is rebooted, we cannot establish another new ODBC connection to that Oracle RDB box --- whether we are trying to establish it programmatically or just via a "test connection" in the ODBC dialogue on the SQL Server box.
We can, however, establish an ODBC connection to another, identically configured, Oracle RDB box from the SQL Server box (without restarting the SQL Server box).
Has anyone had experience with instable connections from Windows system using the Oracle RDB driver to connect to the Oracle RDB? If not, can anyone point me in a direction that would help me research this? I am more familiar with SQL Server than Oracle, and the Oracle DBA on the other end isn't very accessible.
I'd really appreciate any help anyone can give me.
    Thanks!

I got same error.. Are you already solve that problem? how? please help me. Thanks

    Hi,
You are now making the connection to the Sybase database but there is a problem with the user and password used in the database link.
Sybase is case sensitive for names so you need to surround the user/password in double quotes to make sure they are passed to Sybase in the correct case -
    create database link ind_test connect to "sybuser" identified by "sybpass" using 'tnsnames_ora_entry' ;
where sybuser is the userid as created in Sybase with the password sybpass.
If they were setup in Sybase in mixed case then it would be -
    create database link ind_test connect to "Sybuser" identified by "Sybpass" using 'tnsnames_ora_entry' ;
    Regards,
    Mike

  • High Speed DSL connectivity issues.

Hi. I have connectivity issues with the High Speed DSL internet connection. I have had internet service with you guys for almost a year now, and since day one, I have had connectivity issues. In the past, the connection would drop once every few days, and about once every two weeks I would need to restart the modem in order to get my connection back.
I have restarted my router countless times, and even done a factory reset on the router a number of times as well.
The past two days, my internet connection has been worse than ever, with the connection being dropped about once every five minutes. And, while the connection was up, my browsing, video, and email loading times were very slow.
The internet light on the modem is constantly flashing, even when I am connected.
The gateway status info page refreshes 4-5 times a minute.
I dont know if any of the following info will help. I would like to continue with Verizon as my ISP, but if the connection issues continue, I will have to change services.
I have the Actiontec GT708WNV modem.
    The gateway status info is:
    Gateway ParameterStatus
    Firmware Version:
    GT784WN-VZ-1.1.6
    Model Number:
    GT784WNV
    Serial Number:
    {edited for privacy}
    WAN MAC Address:
    Downstream Rate:
    13759Kbps
    Upstream Rate:
    1027Kbps
    PPP User Name:
    N/A
    ISP Protocol
    1483 via DHCP
    Encapsulation:
    LLC
    Gateway IP Address:
    DNS Address #1:
    DNS Address #2:

Step one: Visit http://www.giganews.com/line_info.html and post up the Traceroute the page shows, if you wish. Be aware that the final hop (bottom-most line of the trace)  might contain a hop with your IP address in it. Remove that line. What I'm looking for is a line that mentions "ERX" in it's name towards the end. If for some reason the trace does not complete (two lines full of Stars), keep the trace route intact.
Step two: Can you provide the Transceiver Statistics from your modem?
As to where that is, it seems to be at
    STATUS > WAN STATUS.

As I am a avid gamer on xbox360 I have noticed the following I have connection issues when I play black ops lag is terrible and thinking that this may be due to th e games servers so I tryed modern warfare2 and yet this is the same now bearing in mind whwn I was with Talk Talk this issue very rarely occured...so why now I wonder?....I have the new HUB 3 I have tryed PORT forwarding and this is still no better IF anyone has any advice on this I would appreciate it very much...........

    hi
there could be several issues here...
when gaming online, sometimes the lag may NOT be your fault (or your ISP i should say).
if you are on infinity, then upload is minimum of 2mbps so around 1.6meg in real terms which is more than enough bandwidth for online gaming.
however, LATENCY, is the main player here.
it doesnt matter if you have a 10mbps upload connection if your latency is very high but to be honest, even at worst, i dont think you should be getting in excess of 40ms to anywhere in the UK...
i am an XBOX gamer on Infinity and i use wireless to my HHB3 and have never encountered any issues so far (touch wood)...
As you say your are using a wired connection, then im assuming you mean XBOX directly wired into hub. If this happens with ALL of your online games, then maybe try resetting your hub/router and try again and double check any port forwarding you may stipulated. Maybe even try using another ethernet cable?
again, i have Infinity/HHB3 with no issues at all with online gaming, even via a wireless connection. If i did, then i would consider placing my XBOX in DMZ whereby it is beyond the firewall so should eliminate any firewall/port forwarding issues.
Since you say that the problem only apparent since changing providers, then i would concentrate efforts on the router/hub and your local connections to that device...its unlikely its anything to do with broadband itself, but more to do with your connection to it.
