My Ipad/Iphone4 won't back up

Can someone please help me? Everytime I try to back up my phone it gives me an error and says it cant back up I need help because I want to e able to restore my phone. Oh and I have the latest iTunes and iOS software.

That weird thing comes up every time I use the 'and' symbol on my pad
The hard drive has loads of room and not 5mins before, I'd backed up my iPod....
The same thing happened last week when trying to sync... I realised that time that I couldn't manually start up iTunes, start my music and then sync... I had to shut iTunes down, plug in my iPod/pad and let it start up to sync it. This week I plugged in the iPod and it synced, shut down iTunes plugged in iPad, tried to sync and failed. It's frustrating as I've had no problems since I bought it about 3months ago, until now.
I also get a warning box come up telling me the following
'The iTunes library file cannot be saved. You do not have enough access privileges for this operation.'
This has come up every time I double click my iTunes icon to do syncing, ever since we've updated the iTunes. Why?

My ipad2 and iphone4s won't back up.  I have even bought more storage?  Not sure what to do next?

If you no longer need the backups, you can delete them by going to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage, tap the name of device you want to delete the backup for (under Backups at the top), then tap Delete Backup.  This will permanently delete it from your account, freeing up the storage it occupies.

  • Ipad air won't back up to iCloud.

iPad has never backed up automaticlly (kept getting warning messages) so tried manually. started on Sunday afternoon and was still going by next Friday night - last check was at the half way mark. Woke up today Saturday with a message that it was unsuccessful and had started again. Been without my iPad for 6 days which has made work difficult, can't afford another six days. I've trIed resetting, iPad is locked and plugged in and I have plenty of space on iCloud.  Back up size is 43 gb and wifi speed is reasonable. Any help would be massively appreciated.

    Hi bekcait,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. Based on what you stated, it sounds like you are having trouble creating an iCloud backup. What are the warning messages you keep getting? I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.

  • HT201210 My ipad has a message on the front screen as soon as it is turned on that i cannot get rid of and therefore won't allow the ipad to be used at all the message says - icloud backup  This ipad hasn't been backed up in 2 weeks.  Backups happen when

icloud backup.  This ipad hasn't been backed up in 2 weeks.  Backups happen when this ipad is plugged in, locked and connected to wi-fi.  This message is on the front of my ipad and it won't go away no matter what I do therefore the ipad cannot be used.
What do I need to do?

    Try a reset:
Hold the Sleep and Home button down until you see the Apple logo.

  • Iphone 4S won't back up on itunes, but ipad, ipod and iphone 3GS will.

I took delivery of my new iphone 4S on Friday and am running the latest iOS and latest version of itunes and the phone restored from the back up copy of my 3GS with no problems and is working great.
I have just tried to back up the 4S on itunes (as I usually do weekly), its syncs ok but then I get the error message:
"itunes could not backup iphone because an error occurred"
I have tried deleting previous back ups, deleting the lockdown folder, backing up on another PC and pretty much everything suggested here http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2529 apart from reinstalling itunes but it still won't back up and throws up the error message. If I plug in my ipad, ipod touch or old 3GS they all back up immediately which is leaning towards me thinking there may be a problem with the phone rather than itunes.
I have been able to back up via iCloud so I'm not too worried in the immediate future however I do like to keep an iTunes back up as well (for e.g. creating a .csv file of messges etc
Am a bit stuck now and am not sure which direction to go - do you think a restore would change anything (I assume a restore from iCloud would put the phone back to how it is tonight after the iCloud back up so not sure if this will change anything, (I have always backed up to the PC in the past so have no experience of iCloud back up processes) or should I make an appointment at the genius bar? Googling just seems to come up with what I've already done.
    Thanks in advance.

Open iTunes and go to Edit>Check for Updates.  You'll need to be running at least XP SP2 or later to update to version 10.7.

What do you mean " back up my photos or Apps"?
The photo sync is one way - computer to ipad.
You can transfer itunes purchases.  Without syncing:  File>Transfer Purchases
Copy everything from your backup copy of your old computer to your new one.

  • A pop-up about iCloud back-up came up on my iPad and won't go away, help/solutions please?

    iCloud does a back-up every two weeks on my iPad but my internet has stopped working the past two weeks, now that it is fixed this icon still will not go away. It says;
    'iCloud Backup
This iPad hasn't been backed up in 2 weeks. Backups happen when this iPad is plugged in, locked, and connected to Wi-Fi'
with a button underneath saying OK. It won't let me click off it to do anything else. It won't even allow me to turn it off.
I have tried doing what it says but nothing changes. It has been two days now and still no change.
Can someone please help me solve this, thanks

The same problem happened on my iPhone but my home button is not working anymore. What else can I do to reset the phone as I can't use it if the pop up doesn't go away.

  • My ipad has never been backed up I bought more storage and it still won't back up help please

I have had my ipad for 2 years and it won't back up to iCloud I have tried on the computer as well and bought more storage but it just says backup incomplete any ideas
    Thanks

A couple of things you can try. Firstly a reset. With iPad turned on, hold down both the Sleep & Home buttons until the Apple logo is displayed. Once booted up connect to a power source, and to your router via Wi-Fi, go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Back Up Now
If the above doesn't work try 'logging out' of iCloud, go to Settings>iCloud>Delete Account then go back in to Settings>iCloud> and enter your Apple ID and Password.
    Good luck.
    Regards,
    Steve

What are you trying to do?
The Bluetooth is meant for earplug, headset, keyboard, car hands-free set, and speakers.
You need a 3rd party app to do BT file transfer or other functions between iDevices.

  • IPad won't back up

I've never had an issue with my iPad until today. I had to replace my hard drive - the tech did it and migrated all my stuff onto my new HD. At first I had an issue with the iPad syncing and "step 2 or 4 calendars", but seemed to have fixed it.
Now, the iPad won't back up in iTunes. I plug it into my laptop and is goes through the motions of syncing, then stops and says that it cannot on the computer. Should I be doing something because it's a new HD? Advice please, thank you.

    Hi,
Not sure if this will help, but launch iTunes then from the menu bar click Store / *Authorize This Computer*.
Restart your computer, connect the iPad and try syncing.

Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430

  • HT1766 My ipad won't open anything. Message: This ipad hasn't been backed up in two weeks.Backups happen when this ipad is plugged in, locked, and connected to wi-fi.

My ipad won't open anything. I get the message: This ipad hasn't been backed up in two weeks. Backups happen when this ipad is plugged in, locked, and connected to wifi. This device has beern plugged in and has 62% power. I can't access any buttons including the ok under the icloud backup message.

Have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
