Why you would attempt a software upgrade without backing up all your data first is beyond me, but to each his own.

I have a desktop that operates using with Vista.
I downloaded 10.5 and sought to sync my two iphones and two ipads with the desktop in order to use ICloud. However I got warning messages that if I synced with this computer that had none of my extensive library of apps, music, podcasts, etc. would be on it, I would lose it all.
I did authorize the computer. I knew enough to do that but am terrified that I will lose everything that I have accumulated and still won't be able to use ICloud.
Isn't there a way to do this? Shift my library FROM my devices to the desktop?

This is a tedious solution, which is stupid! And some users report an inability to reauthorize a computer after an "en masse” deauthorization. I can’t believe Apple doesn’t provide a list or menu to find out which computers you’ve authorized! Obviously, APPLE knows (or else they couldn’t tell us how many computers we have authorized)--so why can’t they give us access to that information about our own computers??!!!
And for an already-authorized computer with a hard drive that’s since been replaced and upgraded from Mavericks to Yosemite, would it be recognized as a “new computer” and require authorization? Would its previous incarnation (i.e., with the old hard drive and OS) be considered a separate computer? Some users report they can’t authorize a computer after an OS upgrade because of that. Can’t believe we have to do such a bass-ackwards kludge!

You can trash Firefox 4.0 then re-install Firefox 3.6, it will use your existing bookmarks, passwords etc

I have a big problem with my iPad2. From the begining: I wanted to update the iOS to 7.1.2. The progress bar appeared and I left it like that. When I returned, it showed me that I have to connect the device to iTunes. When I did this, it said that I have to restore it. The big problem is that I don't have any back-up of my iPad. I had, but my old laptop broke and I can't open it anymore. So I got a new laptop (Windows 8) and never connected the iPad to it, only now, when it is in Recovery Mode and... I tried to hold the Home+Wake up button both pressed in the same time, but still no change: the Apple logo appears only for a few seconds and it goes back to the Recovery Mode screen. I also downloaded TinyUmbrella from here: http://tinyumbrella.en.lo4d.com/ but nothing happened (it appeared something like TinyUmbrella: Verifying libraries, reticualting something). I also contacted the service in my country, but they said that nothing can be done, I have to restore it and, by this, erase all the data on it. Please, is there any way in which I can save the data? Yes, I know... I discovered now that I have saved the photos I wanted from it long time ago (for the same reasons, i didn't wanted to lose them). So I'm kind of saved. Also it has been like crap because the laptop where I had my backups is as dead as can be. That was the moment when I panicked. From now on... I'll back-up it everyday. Thank you a lot!

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Help! My iPod is corrupted and i don't want to lose my data.

When i connect my iPod to PC its screen normally shows "do not disconnect" and it's charging, but when iTunes starts it only reports: "iTunes has detected an iPod that appears to be corrupted. You may need to restore this iPod before it can be used with iTunes. You may also try disconnecting and reconnecting iPod." i tried reconnecting iPod many times, rebooting system even reinsalling iTunes but with no effect. When i try to open iPod disc from My Computer it only says that: "this disc is not formatted, would you like to format it now?"
I just don't know what to do... Is there any chances i can fix this problem some other way that using the "restore" option in iTunes and losing all my data? Some of them are priceless to me. Please help.

Problems with iPhoto lib after mavericks upgradening iPhoto says upgrade and pref lib will be unreadable after lib upgrade. Help-don't want to lose all prev pictures in lib.

gotitans, I think you have an entirely different problem than we are discussing in this thread.
You should open your own thread, and you should describe your problems in more detail. For example, what type of Mac do you have, what operating system does it run, what version of iPhoto did you have running before the upgrade,and just what sort of upgrade did you do (hardware, operating system, iPhoto, something else)?
My best guess from just that message is that you did a hardware upgrade, and your version of iPhoto is too old to run on the new hardware.

I want to remove some photos from my iPad--but I don't want to remove them from my Mac. How do I remove photos using the iPad itself?

I want to remove a few photos from my iPad, but not from my Mac (from-to which I sync). Is this possible? I can get the "delete" button to show on the iPad, but it is not fully lit--i.e. pressing it does no good.

You can delete photos that you took on the pad, and photos that you imported from the camera connection kit right on the pad. That delete button will work on those.
Photos that you synced from the mac get deleted by resyncing. When you connect the pad, push the photos tab, uncheck sync all, and then select only the photos you want on the pad. The mac acts like the master storage unit, and all the photos will stay there (unless you delete them in i photo) and copies are placed onto the pad.
Photos you take on the pad, by the way, dont get moved to the mac during a sync, you need to import them to iphoto. While the pad is connected, open up i photo, and the pad will show up as a device on the left side. You can select which pad photos you want to import. Those photos are now part of the master copy on the mac, and can be synced back to the pad, or not, as you decide.

What do you do in Mail when it says the password is not secure?

When I try to use Mail, it says the password is incorrect. When I try to enter the password, it says the transmission will not be secure. Is there any way around this? I can use my Comcast mail account, but I want to send directly through Mail.

I went to phone<voicemail, but it only gave me option to Edit (which I can only delete one message at a time) or Greeting. I don't see "deleted messages". I have a 4 and updated to IOS7.
