My ipad is frozen with itune tried to restore but not restoring

I'm trying to restore my ipad wth my computer but it just wont do it!

Can you describe the situation rather than just state that it isn't working. That doesn't tell us anything at all except that it's not working. We have no idea what you are doin or what happens when you try it.

  • Was reading book official appearing pop up came up asking if I wanted to upgrade-I pressed to do it and iPad is frozen with iTunes image and image of charger cord

    Was reading book on iPad
Pop up asked if I wanted to upgrade- probably stupidly I agreed- now iPad screen is frozen with ITunes symbol and image of charger cord on screen- tried turning it off - no help.

Carolyn explained how to reset the iPad. You don't need a tool or clip to do this...just your fingers.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
I do not think that is going to work, but try it.
You are getting the connect to iTunes message and that usually means that your iPad needs to be restored.

I hope you have a backup if you don't want to lose your iPad contents. You have to restore the iPad now using iTunes on your computer. That's what the message on the screen means.
    Take a look at this.

  • Ipad frozen with itunes logo. reset did not work. reinstall itunes on win xp did not work

ipad frozen with itunes logo displayed. Tried reset both ways. reinstalled itunes on Win XP all without success. Any hint?
    Thanks

Have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds, after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Now my ipad still have a problem I am very upset this ****.

For what it's worth, you posted this in 2011, and here in 2014 I am still having this same issue. Over the last two days, I have had to unlock my apple account 8 times. I didn't get any new devices. I haven't initiated a password reset. I didn't forget my password. I set up two factor authentication and have been able to do the unlocking with the key and using a code sent to one of my devices.
    That all works.
It's this having to unlock my account every time I go to use any of my devices. And I have many: iMac, iPad, iPad2, iPad mini, iPhone 5s, iPod touch (daughter), and my old iPhone 4 being used as an ipod touch now.  They are all synced, and all was working just fine.
I have initiated an incident with Apple (again) but I know they are just going to suggest I change my Apple ID. It's a simple one, and one that I am sure others think is theirs. I don't want to change it. I shouldn't have to. Apple should be able to tell me who is trying to use it, or at least from where.
    Thanks for listening,
    Melissa

  • Hey all just trying to set up my ipad synced up with itunes but now if i try to download any apps i put my password in then comes up with unknown error and wont download any help would be great

Reset your iPad and see if that helps.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • When trying to backup and sync my ipad and iphone with itunes the device does not appear int he upper right hand corner anymore

when trying to backup and sync my ipad and iphone to itunes it does not appear in the upper right hand corner under devices for me to click on

In that same window - the one where you see your backups - click on the box at the bottom that say -Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads form syncing automatically. Then click OK and quit iTunes.
Connect your iPad to the computer and launch iTunes. Right click on the iPad name on the left side under the devices heading and select - Restore from backup. A window will pop up from which you can select any of the backups that you have for the iPad. Select the backup that you want to restore from and then go agreed and restore the iPad. Sync with iTunes when you are done.
Remember that when you restore from a backup - you restore everything in that backup to the iPad. You cannot selectively restore content. It is all or none.

  • IPad Mini frozen on iTunes logo

To clarify my previous post, my (first) iPad Mini is frozen on the iTunes logo.  I had previous synced with my PC to do a backup, without a problem, but accidentally disconnected it.  My iPad screen froze.  I cannot turn it off as the Sleep Bar does not appear.  The Home button doesn't work.  I have tried reconnecting the iPad to my PC but iTunes does NOT recognize that it is attached. I only have IOS 7 and didn't have the space to upload Version 8.  I have just bought a new iPad Mini 3 with plenty of memory (64G) but want to keep the first one for my Grandson.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Normally, a device reset should be tried as it *may* alleviate the issue...but to do so requires a working Home button, which you state does NOT work on the device. I'll post the instructions regardless...maybe you can accomplish it by pressing the Home button in just the right way (whichever way that might be) while doing the reset. Try numerous ways...
    Device Reset (won't affect settings/data/music/apps/etc)
    1. Press and hold (& continue to hold) BOTH the Sleep/Wake button & the Home button.
    2. Continue to hold BOTH (ignoring any other messages that may show) until you see the Apple logo on the screen.
    3. Release BOTH buttons when you see the Apple logo and allow the device to boot normally.
If no luck, I'd suggest making a Genius Bar reservation for a free evaluation of what the issue may be if you have an Apple Store near you. Maybe they can knock some sense back into the device.

You'll need an Apple ID to make a reservation.

  • My iPad is frozen with a white rotating circle in the center. How do make the circle stop rotating?

My iPad is frozen with a white rotating circle in the center.  How do I unfreeze it?

OK if I understand whats going on.
You have to restore your ipad.
If you backed it up prior to this problem you may not loose everything.
I can tell you how to restore it.
Hold the on/off button and the home button at the same time until the device turns off.
Once the device has turned off without letting go of the home button release the power button and keep holding until the connect to itunes logo appears.
It should be rather obvious now that you have to connect your iPad to the computer.
iTunes on your computer should open automatically if it doesn't open it.
on the side bar of iTunes your ipad should appear.
    Click on it.
Then in the centre of the window there should be a restore and/or  restore and update button.
    Click restore.
the rest of the instructions should appear on the screen.
    Assuming the restore was successful.
Leave the iPad plugged in and If you backed up the iPad before it stopped working then you should see a restore from back up there if not you may have to start from scratch.

  • My iPad is frozen with the message not enough storage.  Options are close and settings but it will not respond to buttons and will not allow me to turn it completely off.  How do I get past that message?

My iPad is frozen with the message not enough storage.  Options are close and settings but it will not respond to buttons and will not allow me to turn it completely off.  How do I get past that message?

Delete some apps, files, photos, videos, movies, etc to free up some space.
How much space is your Other using? You may be able to reduce.
How Do I Get Rid Of The “Other” Data Stored On My iPad Or iPhone?
    http://tinyurl.com/85w6xwn
With an iOS device, the “Other” space in iTunes is used to store things like documents, settings, caches, and a few other important items. If you sync lots of documents to apps like GoodReader, DropCopy, or anything else that reads external files, your storage use can skyrocket. With iOS 5/6, you can see exactly which applications are taking up the most space. Just head to Settings > General > Usage, and tap the button labeled Show All Apps. The storage section will show you the app and how much storage space it is taking up. Tap on the app name to get a description of the additional storage space being used by the app’s documents and data. You can remove the storage-hogging application and all of its data directly from this screen, or manually remove the data by opening the app. Some applications, especially those designed by Apple, will allow you to remove stored data by swiping from left to right on the item to reveal a Delete button.
