My iPad is not syncing all my photos

I just brought home my new ipad mini & synced it. Strangely a large number of my photos (about 2000) did not and will not sync to my iPad.
specs:
MacBook (10.6.8)
iPhoto (9.2.3)
iTunes (11.0.1)
The albums and/or events are there on the iPad, however most of the photos are not (partial albums/events only). The iPad seems to have randomly chosen a handful of photos from each event/album and excluded the rest. The iPad has PLEANTY of room. I have tried unsyncing & re-syncing the album/events. I have tried moving the photos and creating new albums, I have also tried deleting the ipod photo cache & re-syncing, but the photos just won't appear on my ipad. I see no rhyme or reason to which pics are synced, except that all of the partial albums are scanned photos.
PLEASE HELP!
Thank you!

If you are getting a 'cannot be displayed' or 'missing file' error, then try deleting the photo cache from your computer and then re-try the photo sync and see if they then copy over - the location of the cache, and how to delete it, is on this page http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1314

That sounds exactly like an issue that has plagued McAfee users for around a year.

  • My IPhoto library will not sync all my photo's and videos to my IPhone 4

My IPhoto library will not sync all my photo's and videos to my IPhone 4. It comes up well short every time. After syncing, I get a message,  "example 1171 photo's could not be synced, please see Itunes for help". I have lots of space/gb on my Iphone, so I'm confused. I've done a factory reset and done all the usual stuff, but to no avail. My Iphone is a 32gb IPhone 4, my IMAC is OS10.6.8 and my IPhoto is IPhoto 08. I appologise in advance if i'm posting in the wrong place, so please no nasty trolls. I just need good, honest, kindly advice and a solution to this. I use my IPhone as a further external backup for my photo's
    Kindest regards
    Paul

Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.
Look there for the iPod Photo Cache.
Trash it. Start iPhoto and try sync again.

  • When I plug my Ipad2 to my Imac, it does not sync all my photos from my Itunes library. It also splits events and picks what it wants to sync. How do I get all my photos to sync with Ipad2?

When I sync my Ipad2 with my Imac, it does not sync all the photos. It seems to pick & choose what it wants to sync and also splits events. How can I set it to sync all photos so both libraries are the same?

Can't help you with the sync problem but the splitting of events was supposedly fixed with the iPhoto 9.1.3 updater.
This is from the download page:
This update fixes a problem that could cause some events merged in iPhoto to be split back into multiple events on iOS devices after being synced.
So update iPhoto to 9.1.3 and re-sync.  If you already have updated to that version then I'm at a loss.

  • Iphone 4 will not sync all my photos after lion update

I just upgraded to Lion, and my iphone 4 will no longer sync all my photos.  Nearly 600 are missing.  I recieved the below error message -
Some of your photos, including the photo "AANP.JPG", were not copied to the iPhone "My iPhone" because they cannot be displayed on your iPhone.
All my photos were showing before I upgraded to Lion. All the files in question are a .jpg format
Here is what I have tried/checked-
I made sure all my photos were checked when syncing my iphone to itunes
I restored my iphone to orginal settings (it shows that there should be 1900 photos in itunes, but my phone only downloads 1300 of them)
I have made new albums and folders to get the files to show, but oddly enough my phone will not download them.
I do know about the article that says I need to restore the iPhone photo cache...and maybe I am slow, but I have no idea how to find the cache to clear it.  I realize there is a tab in itunes that says photos, but how do I clear the cache from here??  The article is very confusing, and I really need more detailed directions.
The article says  - If you need to free up space on your hard drive, or are directed to do so by another article, you can locate and remove the iPod Photo Cache folder(s).
link to the article - http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1314
Which is all well and good, but where do I find this cache???
    Any help is appreciated!

Update - I found the iphoto cache deleted it.  This did not work.... it still cannot find the photos.  I then placed all the photos on my desktop and synced my phone to the folder.  It found ALL the pictures on my desktop folder.  I would still prefer to find a fix, so I can sync my photos to iPhoto....

  • The New iPad will not sync all photo's

I picked up the new iPad yesterday at the Apple store and am having a problem getting it to sync all of my photo library.
Im using iTunes on Windows 7 to sync the "My Pictures" folder to the iPad.
It will sync some but not all of the folders in the "My Pictures". I have deleted the "iPod Photo Cache" folder, that did not help.
I have 2 iPhones and 2 older iPad 1's  which sync the photo's just fine.

Maybe, although I always thought there was a threshold for each device below which it wouldn't have to create an "optimized" (re-sized) version.  You'd think this would be a high number for the New iPad, giving the screen resolution.  For example, my re-sized (3072 on the long edge) pictures aren't being optimized before tranfer -- they're just copying over and they work just fine.
Who knows.  I just got off the phone with a tier-2 AppleCare rep (I found this thread while we were on the phone), and he indicated he would pass this thread along to the engineers.  It's a pretty obvious bug somewhere in the mix, and one I suspect they'll be all over right away, given the attractiveness of the new iPad to photography types.

  • Ipad won't sync all of photo library.

I have recently bought an iPad 2. I updated it to ios5 and it does not sync my complete iPhoto library. I have ~9000 photos in my library, only about 3000 of which are being transferred to my iPad. There is plenty of space on the iPad 32GB of a 64GB iPad. Does anyone know what could be going wrong?

Similar problem on my iPad2 syncing from by iMac with all the latest updates applied.  On returning from vacation, I purchased and updated iPhoto 9.2, and also updated my iPad to IOS5 and my iMac to the latest iTunes.  I don't think the iTunes/iPad sync ever completed, befor or after the iPhoto update.
I edited/merged a number of Events with iPhoto 9.2, including importing the camera roll from the iPad that included photos taked on the iPad plus photos taken on a Sony camera that I had also imported to the iPad camera roll.  Everything worked OK with iPhoto on the iMac, resulting in new Events that contained both iPad and camera photographs within each event: exactly what I wanted.
However, iTunes Sync of Photos was and still is a train-wreck.  I tried multiple times, with multiple iPad and iTunes hangs with various "waiting" messages that never ended.  I trashed and recreated the iPod Photo Cache on iTunes but it took some serious work.  I actually had to use my iPod to create a new iPod Phot Cache because iTunes would not communicate with the iPad2 to get a rebuild.  After the rebuild with the iPod, I then was able to toggle between no photos, single event, all events on the iPad, and things "almost" worked.  Currently it looks like all or most of the photos in iTunes (19000+) show up on the iPad2 (only about 14000+ showed in the sync message on iTunes while it was syncing).  However, on the iPad if I look at Photos, most of them appear OK, but in the Events view, many of the recent events that I created with iPhoto are empty, even though the photos are there for most or all of them.  It looks like the Event to Photos cross-reference is damaged on the iPad.   There is no problem at all with the Event to Photos cross-reference on iPhoto.

  • Ipad won't sync all my photos from new mac

I have an original i-pad which used to sync all photos from my old mac - now I have a new mac and only some of the photos will sync with ipad - some photos are old and some are recent so it;s not an age thing.  Have updated ipad software and that hasn't solved the problem.

    What Dah•veed said.
I've had this problem for weeks now, and only just found that solution last night. There were over 400 photos that wouldn't sync. The only (unavoidable) downside is that your cache has to be rebuilt. If (like us) you have thousands of photos on your device, it can take quite sometime to rebuild. Close to an hour for each of our phones--we don't have exactly the same photos. I'm really not sure how long the second one took becuase we just let it sync and went to bed :-)
There's a kb article below, but it's as per the instructions above.

  • IPAD will not sync old digital photos?

I cannot get IPAD to sync the old photos from my computer.   Why?

Plug the iPad into your computer to sync it.
When the iPad management screen appears, click the "Photos" tab at the top.
Check the "Sync Photos" box at the top.
From the drop-down menu next to that, select the program or folder that contains your photo library.
Depending on what program you use, you'll have different options. These may include syncing individual galleries or your entire photo album.
If you're syncing a folder of images, you can navigate through your hard drive to find the correct folder and then sync that entire folder or just select subfolders in it.
Once all your settings are correct, click the "Apply" button at the bottom right corner of the iTunes window to sync again and add photos to your iPad

  • ITunes does not sync all my photos (JPG) in iPhoto to the iPad2

    Hi!
I have a MacBook running OS X Lion, with all the updates applied and I also have the latest iTunes and iPhoto11 with all the updates applied. In iPhoto I have several events and a total of 11 thousand photos, and everything is fine, but when i try to sync all iphoto events in iTunes to my iPad2 (updated), iTunes only shows 616 photos!
I have tried to fix it by deleting the folders iPod Photo Cache in my iPhoto Library, but it didn't work out.
I also tried to verify if there were different formats or if the extension is hidden in some photo files, but there is nothing different! There are events with 10 pics and iTunes only recognizes 1 pic!
And I do not receive any error messages from iTunes!
    Have anybody seen it before?
May you give me any hints of what I'm doing wrong?
    Thanks

  • IPhone not syncing all my photos

    Hello all,
For the past many years I've kept a very large photo album in my iphoto library that contains graphic design inspiration.  As of now it is is nearly 7000 photos and has never had a poblem syncing to my phone.  I add to it daily and try to resync my phone every few days.
Earlier this week I went in to browse though the album to find a few files and realized that the full album hadn't been synced over to my phone.  I reconnected to itunes and tried to resync with no luck.  Then I went into the photo tab and told the phone to stop syncing photos, applied the change, and then told it to sync again. it deleted the photos (as I thought it would).  Then I turned syncing back on and selected the correct library/album.  Interestingly enough, it synced less photos than before.
Any idea on what is going on?  I'm on an iphone 5 and ios7.  Thanks!

I am having the same problem. I have never had an issue before, but after updating to iOS 7 on my iPhone 4s (32GB), I am unable to sync all of my photos to my iPhone from Aperture. I have 5448 photos in Aperture. iTunes recognizes this number, but when I try to sync, it says copying xx of 3661 (assuming I've removed all photos from my iPhone, and am retrying to sync).
I have tried reformatting my phone, deleting the iPod Photo Cache folder inside the Aperture library package, but nothing seems to work.
    I'm running iOS 7.0.4 on the iPhone 4s (32gb) and iTunes 11.1.3 (8) on a Macbook Pro Retina 13".
    Any other suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Christian

  • Ipad 1 not syncing all photos from icloud

i have just bought an ipad 1 64gb (ios 5.1.1) all works fine but only 120 of the 1000 photos have synced via icloud?
any ideas? do i need to plug into itunes 1st time?
    thanks

You should have been syncing photos to a computer to archive them, but it looks like you haven't been syncing via itunes to the computer.
I suspect from your description that you have been using photo stream.  This is a service used to sync photos between devices, it's not a storage/archive service.  Photos are kept in the stream for up to 30 days, after which they are deleted.  If you've been using photo stream, then this is most likely the problem.  Unless you've backed up the photos elsewhere, then they are gone.  It's too late to use itunes for getting back photos.  hopefully they are on some other device or computer.

  • Itunes is not syncing all my photos from my imac to ipad.

It syncs most of them and they have been taken with the same camera. Any suggestions gratefully received.

If you are getting a 'cannot be displayed' or 'missing file' error, then try deleting the photo cache from your computer and then re-try the photo sync and see if they then copy over - the location of the cache, and how to delete it, is on this page http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1314

  • ITunes not only not syncing all my photos, but messed up all of my albums

So since I've updated my iPod touch 5 to iOS 8, there are these additional useless apps. That was an eyesore, until I got to my photos to see my Camera Roll GONE, and replaced with two new options: "Recently Added" and "Recently Deleted". So what's the point with these options? So my wife could check on what I've been taking pictures of recently? And there's a 30-day deletion for "Recently Deleted"? This is absolutely absurd beyond comprehension!
The final tick that struck my nerve tonight is the fact that when I synced my photos, ALL of my photos are randomized into different albums, including ones I've made years ago that should've ceased to exist! Yes, I have tried all the tidbits researching solutions like clearing my cache and such, but this just had me pondering if I should just drop all my beloved Apple products. I get that Apple is trying to produce more and more money by releasing all these new iOS upgrades that render old devices useless so people would purchase newer products, but seriously?
I'm starting to get paranoid if iTunes could be lurking under my folders, deleting and re-arranging/restoring my old deleted photos with my new ones. So, I'll be dropping my iPod touch 5 until someone could come along and give me another solution. Or at least an opt. where I can restore my iPod back to iOS 7. Thank you all sincerely in advance.

There is no automatic option to recover the lost library structure (albums, events).
Your best bet will be to restore your iPhoto library from your most recent backup before the crash.
