My ipad is randomly starting and closing programs.

My Ipad is not responding to touch commands on key board. It is also starting and closing programs randomly. What can I do to correct this?

Tryb a reset, hold power and home button for 15-20 seconds until the apple logo appears.
No data will be lost.

Why is itunes randomly starting and stopping?

I am running itunes on an iMac running MacOS 10.6.8. itunes is randomly starting and stopping. If there a fix for this?

It doesn't get any simpler than this .... If it works that is .... Give it a try.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

IPad mini randomly opens and closes apps, changes pages on book readers

My iPad mini has gone crazy, it randomly opens and closes apps, plays games itself, changes pages whilst reading a book, starts flashing. Tried everything, rebooted the device, updated it always with the latest software update and have reset the iPad as a new IPad with no success. The problem still occurs which is really enjoying. I checked on the Internet and I'm not the only one with an iPad mini with this problem. The iPad is older than one year, what are my chances of resolving this and how?

I have this problem with my PDFs too. I'm using a lot of PDFs from the German RPG "The Dark Eye" (Das schwarze Auge) from their the PDF shop "ulisses ebooks".
However, i recognized that I don't get this random black boxes after a restart of the iPad Air for a long time. But when it starts it's become very frequently.
To remove the black boxes for a single page i can close the book and reopen it or just mark text from the corrupted page. Zoom in removes the black boxes too, but if you zoom out there are visible again.
I also recognzied that this must be a problem if the iPads PDF engine and not from iBooks. I got the same random black boxes in a PDF which I viewd in Safari.
I think that changing the reader will only help if it has its own PDF Engine. Don't know if this possible in iOS.
Perhaps it's some kind of memory leak of the iOS PDF Engine, after this bug apperas only after some time of ussage.

RoboHelp8 HTML: Importing FM9-Dokument causes FM9 starting and closing all the time

Hello,
I use RoboHelp very seldom. Last time a year ago for a try to make context sensitve HTML-Help for our application. It was RoboHelp7 than and it worked.
Now I just used the freshly installed RoboHelp8 to import a FrameMaker9 document.
Clicking through the first two dialogs (without any inputs) and press finalize at the end strange things happens.
FrameMaker9 starts and closes immediately, and so on.
This would be forever I think if I didn't kill RoboHelp.
I rebooted already and so on. Still the same.
System: Windows XP SP3
Software: TCS 2
RoboHelp8: 8 00 203
FM9: 9.0p237
Do you have quick suggestion I could try?

Still RH8 is not working with this certain document.
Because it was the only one document I tried to import with RH8 so far (at all), I thought something is wrong with the installation or else ...
Still I need to import this FM document.
FM9 standalone is able to open it.
I'll try to convert it to MIF and import it again in RH8.

Shutdown and closing program

I have a program that runs automatically on startup called SX-Virtual Link. It's for my print server. When I shutdown my Mac I always get prompted to shut this program down first. Is there a way to automatically shut it down when I shutdown?

There are a couple of applications I have used to stress test my system. The first application is Everest Ultimate. Look under the menu Tools/System Stability Test. The second is OCCT. The Linpack test is great to start off with.
I was having problems with PrE 8 either crashing or behaving funny. At that time I was running 4 GB DDR3 1333 MHz and not overclocked. PrE was showing the most problems where almost I could not use the software at all. I was having other random issues too - but only about once every other week.
I stress tested my system and determined there was an issue. I could not complete a single round of stress testing.
I attempted to change my system settings, send the RAM in for exchange, etc... but could not get the system stable. Others who had the same motherboard as mine recommended to switch to a different DDR3 vendor. I did and immediately all my issues were resolved. After one month of stability I added another 4 GB. I have had zero issues with my system since I made the switch which has been well over a year ago. The system just runs and runs.

My ipad air keeps restarting and closing apps plus it wont connect to itunes when i want to do a full restore

i have just bought a ipad air 2 weeks ago from a tmobile store and the day i got it, it started turning off which i though was normal since it was the first day and my second device so i had it the first week went by and it continued to happen after that it got more serious and i got made i took it back to tmobile they said to take it to apple and i did inboca raton the people there are nice but what ever they did only stoped it from happening for a while i came back the same week a day later saying i contined to happen and they said did u delete the apps and i told the person i had no apps on thier he/she was supprised and said if he could run a web search and a dianositcs report i said sure he didnt find anything wrong but it turning off on the apps i also know that the device (ipad air) should have a good amount of memmory and that the main reason it turns off is because it has a 64 bit prossessor with a 1GB Ram so i turns off but their is a way to make it work fluentlly without turning off you have to connect it to iyunes on a PC or MAC and restore your device so that it repairs itself after that u have to manually redownlaod all the apps again and not use icloud to back up when u are done redownlaoding then u have to backup and then hopefully it will work fine but i cant connect to itunes so i later retuned that same day trying that and told him/her that it didnt work and the idea that i tried and he/she said that he can replace it if i brought the box so i said no i didnt bring it please fin a solution so i can connect to itunes its only 2 weeks old and i dont want a new one so fast

When my phone crashed for the first time I noticed that the ios update 6 was on my phone and i updated it at that moment... it still continues to not work... i now have a grey screen saying activation request could not be completed. if problem persists contact customer care. I cannot get to the home screen or any of my settings. I have been trying to contact but i think i was to late and to early this morning to reach anyone.
When i connect my ipnone to itunes there is no music, no apps, no photos, no updates or any thing that I can see..... it says that softwware version 5.1... does that mean that my phone did not update ios 6?
I can't get to any options or different screens on my phone either, just the grey screen i spoke about before.....
you spoke of downloading from apple directly does that mean on my iphone or my computer?

Random start and stop of sound on iPhone4

At random times, the sound on my iPhone4 stops working. I have not activated the mute setting. Just as randomly, it returns. Apple Geniuses (three) have concluded it is corrupted software. Repeated reloads haven't changed it. Any hints?

How do I change the settings of sounds occuring when starting and closing?

I'd like to change the sound effects that I hear when booting iMac or closing it, even when error sound occurs. I'm used to doing this in the past on Windows ME and 200 and would like to do it on my new iMac with Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6.2). I don't like the selection on the sounds in the System Preferences, either. Will add others and remove most of what's already there.

Get used to not customizing much at all in Mac OS. I've heard of a few third-party apps that allow you to adjust the volume, but not the sound itself. Check in MacUpdate or VersionTracker.
Along the customizing vein, there are a few programs that allow you to change the look of the windows and icons. I tried them long ago and never saw anything that I liked better, and they always broke when new versions of the OS were released. So, I don't know what the state of those are these days.
To add sounds, make sure they are aiff's and just put them in /Library/Sounds for all users or your username/Library/Sounds just for you. I really don't think you should remove the default ones.

An error occurs when starting and closing Dreamweaver CS4...

V 31. installed would not connect to internet, restored to 30, now the pinned tabs due not persist between starting and closing FF.

Installed version 31.0 from version 30.0. It would not display any web pages, e.g. google, had a message about not being able to connect. Did a Windows system restore point to version 30 (I had created a restore point before the install) . FF will now not save pinned tabs between sessions and it will not restore the last page from a previous session. All it will display is the Default FF page.
Can someone give me some idea's about how to fix this. I tried reinstalling version 30 but that did not work to fix the problem.

First, thanks for everyone responding. Here is what the problem was....
For some reason, there is a profile under Local in Mozilla and another profile under Roam. The Roam profile was the one that was being pointed to from the Troubleshooting tab under help. The local profile only had some partial files not including sessionstore.js. I copied all the files from the Roam profile to the Local profile. This restored the pinned tabs but not the open tabs from the previous session. I then updated Roam and Local profiles with the last sessionstore I could find in the Roam directory.... for some crazy reason this restored everything. Updating to FF v 31 was what initially caused this.
I did create a restore point before the update, which would not connect any tabs to the internet (e.g. Google). I then restored from the restore point, and ended up with the damaged FF v30 installation, which would connect to the internet but would not pin tabs and remember them or display the last page I had visited as a start page....
So, I hope someone gets a chance to look at FF v31, and why there is a Roam and Local directory with profiles in them ?
