My ipad keeps showing the apple logo and nothing else and it wont restore it keeps coming up with error 19

I have an iPad 2nd generation and all it does is show the apple logo continuously and  nothing else. I cannot get into the iPad and I have tried to restore it numerous times but it comes up with error 19 or error 14. Or it restores but after it has it just comes back up with the apple logo once again and nothing changes or it flashes a few times. does anyone know how to fix this?
Cheers Meg

You need to put your iPad into Recovery Mode. Follow the instructions in this Apple support document very carefully. It might take several attempts to get it to work.
