My ipad microphone won't work wat do I do

L

I saw one post where a user said dust got in the small mic hole. Used a vacuum cleaner to remove and audio restored. Try it.
Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430

  • External microphone won't work on Macbook Pro

My external microphone won't work on my Macbook Pro.
My mic is an SE2200 A, and I'm pluggin that into a Behringer Eurorack UB802 (with Phantom power). This is then connected to a 1/4 inch to 3.5mm adapter so I can plug it into my Macbook Pro.
If I plug this directly into my Macbook Pro into the headphone socket (which I've been told doubles up as a mic socket), and go to Settings -> Sound -> Input, the mic does not appear on screen at all.
If I plug it into a 3.5mm to USB adapter, and plug it into a USB port on my mac, then the USB PnP Sound Device appears on the Settings -> Sound -> Input, but no sound is picked up.
Could any suggest why this isn't working?
    thanks

You have to use a cable that will break out the 3.5 mm TRRS jack into mic, L, and R.
I haven't found the right wiring yet and the cables I have tried don't seem to work.
See this post: What is the wiring digram on the MacBook Pro 3.5 mm TRRS jack?

it's in the buttom of the device beside the speaker

  • My App Store won't work wat do I do

App Store want work wat do I do

By 'won't work' you mean ... ? Does the app not open, are the screens in the store blank, do you get error messages when trying to buy/download apps ... ? Have you tried anything to fix it ?
Depending upon what the problem is, and if you haven't already done so, then try logging out of your account on your iPad by tapping on your id in Settings > ITunes & App Store and then log back in and see if the Store then works.
If that doesn't fix it then try closing the App Store app via the multitasking bar and see if it works when you re-open it :
iOS 7 : double-click the home button to open the taskbar, and then swipe or drag the App Store app's screen from there up and off the top of the screen to close it, and click the home button to close the taskbar.
iOS 6 and below : from the home screen (i.e. not with App Store app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the iTunes app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
Another thing that you could try is a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • My iPad screen won't work

I have an iPad 2 and recently it has stopped working all of a sudden. When i press the power button on my iPad, it turns on but it is just a blank screen and when i turn it off it flashes white. Sometimes when i turn it on my wallpaper flashes on the screen for a split second but goes right back to the blank screen so i know that the screen isn't broken. I have tried charging it, holding down the power button to shut it down completely and I've tried holding down both the power button and the home button, nothing works. When i try to sync it to iTunes it asks me to type my passcode in on the iPad but i can't because it won't work.
    Any ideas?

    Hello Nathan_J_M,
Thank you for choosing Apple Support Communities. i am very pleased to help you.
Reset to factory settings via recovery mode
So, what you'll have to do is enter recovery mode and fully reset your iPad. Yes, you will lose all your data, but it's better than buying an iPad and wasting a hog lots of money pit. If you have a backup, it will be great.
    Entering recovery mode:
Force your iPad to shut down. Press and hold on both power button and home button at the same time until your iPad turns off. Now, follow my steps:
    •1: Get your PC/Mac ready
•2: On that PC/Mac, make sure you have the latest version of iTunes
•3: Connect the large end of the charger in the computer, but not the small end. (Connect this end to the computer:)
•4: Open iTunes on your PC/Mac
•5: Now that you're on iTunes, get the small side of the cable (the one to connect to the iPad with) and get ready
•6: Press the home button on your iPad, while your pressing the home button, plug in the other small part of the iPad quickly to your iPad. Keep pressing the home button to your iPad until you see this:
You are now in recovery mode. Restore your iDevice to factory settings. If you have a backup, restore your iPad from that backup or you'll lose everything on that device. Sadly, if you don't have a backup, everything will be gone, that includes photos, apps, contacts, etc.
for more information on how to enter recovery mode on your iPad, go here: If you can't update or restore your iOS device

  • Imac microphone won't work

Internal microphone on iMac won't work.
    any suggestions?

I just found and removed a small piece of sticky tape which was covering the mic. The mic is on the top surface of a mac - you can only just see a lighter coloured small round circle in line with the camera on the top narrow surface. My problem was sorted despite all other help and just before I gave up.  Check no-one has posted a sticky message, camera cover or even an ornament over your mic. How many folk know where the mic is?

  • Microphone won't work

After installing snow leopard successfully I found out that my internal and external microphone
does not work and I can't figure out how to fix it. Anybody have any ideas?

I have an error that I think might be along the same lines. My audio drivers work to produce sound but whenever I record anything in Garageband '09 on Snow Leopard I get an audio driver error whenever I record or playback audio. It seems to think the audio files are temp files and erases them whenever I quit Garageband so I get "file not found" errors when I open the project. It has caused me to lose quite a bit of time and work. The error I get after recording says the audio driver returned an error, I think it was error -34 or something like that. I cannot replicate it right now because I had to downgrade back to 10.5.8 just in order to complete my work.
I did the Snow Leopard upgrade option originally, then to troubleshoot this I tried a clean install of iLife '09 over the top of a clean Snow Leopard install and the problem still persisted. Seems like a driver based issue to me.

  • My microphone won't work in a skype call

My mic won't work at all when I make a call. I've tried multiple times but it just refuses to work for me.

I took it to the apple store and it was determined to be a mechanical problem. Since I had apple care, they replaced the phone.

  • Microphones won't work on GT683DXR

I have a MSI GT683DXR, upgraded to windows 8, but this problem existed on windows 7 as well.
When I install all the drivers, including the Realtek HD Audio drivers, all my microphones stop working. The onboard microphone will be detected, but records nothing. I also have a USB Headset, with microphone, and that doesn't work too.
When I uninstall the Realtek HD Audio drivers, the onboard microphone starts working again, but has a really low volume. I think that's because the Realtek drivers provide something called 'Microphone boost', which the Windows drivers don't have. The USB Headset microphone isn't working here either.
At both settings, I made sure the microphone volumes were at max, not muted by Windows or any other program and the microphone I tried to use was the default microphone in Windows.
So either way, I don't have a working microphone. It isn't working at all, or I'm stuck with a really low volume because of the lack of microphone boost. Is there any way for the microphone to start working again with the Realtek HD Audio drivers?
Or is there some other solution for this problem?

I just discovered the problem with the headset microphone is with my headset. So now I'll need a solution to only the onboard microphone.

  • My microphone won't work when in Speaker mode, but will when in regular mode. What is up with that?

My iPhone's microphone will not work in the Speaker mode, but will when in Regular mode. The microphone works even when in bluetooth mode. This was sudden and no updates have been made recently, but it is up to date with the software.

I took it to the apple store and it was determined to be a mechanical problem. Since I had apple care, they replaced the phone.

  • Microphone won't work on Audigy 2 ZS Soundc

I've had my Dell system for at least 2 years, and FINALLY have a need to use the microphone input.
I can't get it to accept microphone input on any recording software I've tried.
I read the 5-6 info/help request from 2005 and and am pretty sure I set the Microphone input "on" within
    the surround mixer window.
I've tried three different microphones - they all work on my laptop fine but nothing through the mic on my desktop
that has the audigy card. The Creative diagnostic says everything is fine.
    Suggestions?

UPDATE - It DOES seem to be recording but the volume is so insignificant it doesn't register.
when I record in Photostory it can't be heard unless I "yell" into the mic.
Using Audacity, I can record, small bumps appear on the indicator line. If I then amplify the signal, a lot,
    it's useable.
I have the mic recording volume maxed out in creative sound mixer's setup.
hope you can help. I have multi-media assignments to do for a summer class...

  • IPad mini screen not working / water damage

I had my iPad mini and a bottle of water i in my bag - water started leaking. When I realised the iPad was still working (it was a bit wet but wiped it off and tested it and it was working), I removed the case and put it in a dry bag. Came back home and tried to use it. The screen lit up for 2 secs and then went dark. The iPad is still working - when I press the home button and the power button I can hear the "taking picture" sound. The screen however remains black.... Any idea what I need to do? Thank you, Eleni

You really should not turn the iPad on until it is totally dry. Turn it off, if it will turn off. Get a bag and fill it with uncooked white rice. Place the iPad in the bag for 48 hours and let the rice draw the water out of the iPad. You need enough rice to cover the iPad. After 48 hours, remove the iPad, if it still seems to have some dampness, get more rice and try it again.
When you think it is finally dry enough to try, power it back up again And see how it goes. A better alternative, IMO, would be to take the iPad to an Apple Store and let them inspect it after you dry it out and before you turn it on again.
