My Ipad min will not power up or start after being on the charger this morning. Was working just need to be charged no nothing.
My Ipad min was working fine this morning when I noticed it need to be charged along with my Iphone. Put them both on chargers. Now Ipad min will not power or come out of sleep mode. tried pushing home botton and the sleep/awake button on the to right to no avail. Any Ideas what to try next?
Thanks
Tom
Standard troubleshooting...
1. Try a Restart by pressing the sleep/lock button until you see the slider. Slide to power off. Restart by pressing the sleep/lock button until you see the Apple logo.
2. Try a Reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider if, it comes up. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
3. Remove all apps from Recently Used list...
- From any Home Screen, double tap the home button to bring up the Recents List
- Tap and hold any icon in this list until they wiggle
- Press the red (-) to delete all apps from this list.
- Press the home button twice when done.
4. If still a problem restore with your backup.
5. If still a problem restore as new, i.e. without your backup. See how it runs with nothing synced to it.
6. If still a problem, it's likely a hardware issue.

My ipad mini will not power off, nor will it respond to any commands. The ICloud Backup reminder (which I do not use and have not activated)is stuck on the screen and will not clear.
Hold down the sleep and home keys for about 20 seconds and see if you can get it to reboot.

iPad mini will not let me access mail after latest software update, 6.1.2, seems to want me to sign in, but whenever I type my Id ad password it just says that the mail account already exists.. Still can't open my mail!
Help would be appreciated.PhotogYogi wrote:
I Have the same issue on a brand new iPad mini 2. My battery is only lasting up to 5 hours. I went on chat with Apple last night and they said my battery is fine and its a Safari issue. I'm literally losing 1% every 3-4 minutes. I tried recalibrating my battery, signing out of iCloud, shutting off all locations, turning off background app refresh, restoring network settings, restoring all, and finally restoring from iTunes with no luck. This is just awful. I got this iPad so I could use it on my long flight for a trip I have coming up, and unfortunately, it's not going to last that long, plus I'm concerned about how many times i will be recharging my battery because of this since battery's do have a life cycle dependent on the number of charges. This is frustrating and needs to be fixed ASAP and addressed by Apple.
By the way, Apple told me to bring my device to the Apple Store because it's still under warranty. That's great and all, but I'm going to waste my time if there is no fix for this issue.
Ok so you want Apple to address the problem, but yet you don't want to take it to them just in case they can't fix it? What if they can fix it? Complaining here certainly won't fix it. -
HT201412 my ipad mini will not power on
My ipad mini is practically brand new only 6 months old..purchased new! Today it flashed and shut down on me and will not power back up...the device has never been dropped and has no physical damage what so ever...nothing!! I'm not sure where to turn...I moved recently and left the original packaging and receipt in another state by accident...I know, real stupid right...I use my mini for EVERYTHING!!! SCHOOL AND WORK...64G...I truely don't want to buy a new device...any ideas, suggestions?
Please help....Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased.

My home button stopped working and now iPad mini will not turn.
My home button stopped working a few weeks ago, and now my iPad mini will not turn on. I can't restart the iPad, and it will not pop up in iTunes. What can I do?
Make an appointment with the nearest apple store and they will be able to replace it or give you directions otherwise. Hope this helps

My new ipad mini will not let me switch between modes when using the built in camera app. It is stuck on Video mode. I am unable to take photos, although I could when I first used it. Could this be a fault with the pad or with the new 7.0.4 update? Can anyone help please?
Have you tried to force quit the app? Double tap the home button. Scroll sideways if needed to see the icon and preview for the camera app. Flip that app up and off the screen to close it then single tap on the home screen preview or single tap the home button to exit the mode.
Try your camera app again and see if you can switch modes.
When you switch modes, you do have to drag the words, not just tap on the video word, if that makes any sense. When you try to go from video to photo, do you try to drag the photo word to the front? -
My new iPad mini will not charge when plugged into adapter. Any suggestions?
my new ipad mini will not charge when plugged into adapter. What should I try?
Does the charger get warm at all? Plug the cable into your computer with iTunes open. Does it say not charging.? If it does, the cable is good. The iPad will charge very slowly when pluged into your computer.
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. ipad mini will not alert for facetime or skype calls. Yes everything is on. No, mute is not on. Fed up!Hello, pleaseacceptthisalias.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I would first start with forcing all applications to close and power cycle the device. Once this is done, have someone make a test call using these applications. If the issue persists, see the steps in the second article.

Troubleshooting notifications
Push notifications require an active Wi-Fi or cellular connection.
Note: Notifications use Wi-Fi only when a cellular connection is unavailable. Firewalls and proxy servers may affect your ability to receive notifications. For more information, see Unable to use Apple Push Notification service (APNs).
If you're not receiving notifications for a specific app, try these steps:
Verify that the app supports notifications.
After installing an app or restoring a backup to a different iOS device, open the app to begin receiving notifications. If the app requires entering or logging in to an account, you will need to do this before receiving notifications.
Check Settings > Notification Center to ensure that the app is configured for notifications. If notifications do not appear in the Notification Center, verify that the Notification Center setting for the app is enabled.

iPad 3 will not power down. Also no information of any kind is displayed in settings.
Have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
