My iPad mini home button doesn't work all the time

When I click the home button on my ipad, it doesn't do anything. If I try a few more times then it will work once or twice. But not all the time.

Calibrate Home button
1. Open a stock application e.g. Calendar or Youtube
2. Hold down the power button until the "slide to power off" control appears
3. as soon as you see it, press the home button and keep it pressed until the red slider disappears and the app is force quit to the home menu

  • Home button is not working all the time

I have started to notice that when I press the home button on my iPhone 4 it does not work all the time. This problems has only started to occur and was first noticed around three months back, however I did not make a big fuss out of this because it was not as often as it is now.
Sometimes i find this extremely frustrating as it occurs even when the phone is locked and you are trying to bring up the unlock menu (which I know this can be done by using the wake up/ lock botton located on the top of the phone)
but this also is a pain when it happens, whilst using an app e.g. playing a game and trying to text someone.  Because of the faulty this also makes multi tasking sometimes impossible.

    Try calibrating the Home button.
    1. Open a pre-installed app, such as Contacts
    2. Press and hold the sleep/wake button until the red slider appears
    3. Immediately release the sleep/wake button; press and hold the Home button.
    4. Hold until the red slider disappears.

My home button is only working now and again. I have tried the reset option which works for a short period of time but soon after, it's back to only working periodically. Please help...

Some time my iPad freezes up or something.. The home button quits working...

  • Top power button doesn't work all the time

    Top power button works intermittently

    Restart the device. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
Reset the device. (Same article as above.)
Restore from backup. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766 (If you don't have a backup, make one now, then skip to the next step.)
Restore as new device. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137  For this step, do not re-download ANYTHING, and do not sign into your Apple ID.
Test the issue after each step.  If the last one does not resolve the issue, it is likely a hardware problem.
This is what Apple is going to make you do anyways before deeming it a hardware issue. Go ahead and do these steps, and when you contact Apple, you can let them know you've restored it as a new device and the issue remains. That will reduce your time on the phone with technical support or the time you spend in the store.

  • Safari show all tabs doesn't work all the time

It is annoying: safari show all tabs doesn't work all the time. The little icon to the right of the "New Tab" area sometimes works, and sometimes doesn't. The Shift Command Back-slash, sometimes works, and sometimes doesn't. I find no rhyme nor reason for this. I have a MacBook Pro, Mountain Lion, the latest updates. It doesn't matter if I am in Full Screen or not.
I am quite confused regarding this.

Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type of copy paste the following:
    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that helped, empty the cache more often from your keyboard.
    Command + Option + E

  • Junk mail filter doesn't work all the time

Why doesn't the Junk mail filter work all the time? I click on mail like from Best Buy or Omni Hotels to go into junk mail but hardly any of their mail goes into Junk. Other sites go directly to Junk. If I click on a Best Buy mail to indicate it's Junk, shouldn't that work 100% of the time forever and ever?

The Junk filter is based on an analysis of the content of the message. It ignores the sender. (Filtering based on the sender is an ineffective way of dealing with true spam, since spammers use constantly-changing spoofed addresses.)
If you don't want mail from a legitimate sender like Best Buy, unsubscribe from their ads. If that doesn't work, make a Rule to delete or move the messages.

  • Optical drive doesn't work all the time

My optical drive doesn't mount movies i bought on dvds. IT'S like it has a mind of its own, it only plays movies when it feels like it and forget any install dvds like Snow Leopard, printers etc...! What's the problem with it? I cleaned it and all my dvds are like brand new, no scratches or any thing.

  • My iPhone 5 lock button doesn't work half the time. What can I do about this?

For the past month or so my lock button hasn't been working. It takes three or more tries to get it to work and sometimes I just can't even use it. Pressing harder doesn't work. Is there anything anyone can help me out on with this? It's getting annoying and I want to know if there's a way to fix it.

Looks like a Visit to an Apple Store or AASP (Authorized Apple Service Provider) is required...
Be sure to make an appointment first...

  • Wi-fi sync doesn't work all the time

This has been an issue for me ever since wi-fi sync was introduced. My setup is all-Apple: iOS devices, Mac, Airport Extreme router.
I have successuflly set up for wi-fi sync, and it works. The problem is that quite often the device and iTunes don't find each other. I click on the device in the list, click the "Sync" button, iTunes says it's "looking for..." and eventually gives up and removes the device from the list. At this point, it usually requires restarting iTunes AND the device (iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch) to get things going again.
One theory I have is that I would often take a device with me without ejecting it from iTunes, and then when I return they don't reconnect. However, even when I do remember to eject the device before taking it out of range, it's no guarantee.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

I have the same issue, it works for a while then won't work hardly at all. Then start working again. I wish it would just work like it supposed too. I hear it has trouble with wet or clamy hands but mine are rarely like that. I do work outside with my hands and the are kind of tough and callused up. I wonder if that effects it some. Anyway let me know if you figure out how to make it work reliably
    Cheers

  • Control center doesn't work all the time in iOS 8

I have the new iPhone 6+ and have noticed that sometimes I can't pull up control center.
I have to unlock it, then lock it again and then it will pull up. I use this method to access the torch at night.
Also to switch off the torch when the phone is locked, the camera icon could be tapped. However this feature doesn't work anymore.
Now I have to click the home button > swipe up the control center (hopefully it works) > tap the torch icon.
It used to be easier when you could just click the home button > tap the camera icon.
    Please fix these issues soon.

You are not addressing Apple here, we are users like you, so we cannot fix these issues. If you would like to tell Apple what your problem is, then you can leave them feedback HERE. Click on the appropriate link.
However, if you want to try and troubleshoot your Control Center issue, then I would go into Settings>Control Center>Access on Lock Screen and if that is on, turn it off and back on again. Also, when accessing Control Center from the lock screen, make sure you are starting off of the screen when you begin to swipe upwards. That tends to work better. Sometimes starting on the screen, the finger does not get low enough for it to register.
As far as the flashlight button, I never attempted to turn it off with the camera, I just tapped in Control Center.

  • My button has stopped working all the time is this covered by the one year original warranty?

My button on my ipad does not work all of the time does any one know if this is covered under the original one year warranty?

If you have a hardware issue (the home or power button not working certainly would be hardware) and you make an appointment at the Apple Genius Bar, if it is found to be defective, it certainly would be covered under the one year warranty.

  • FullScreen script doesn't work all the time

I am having a problem with this script. Its weird, sometimes I type in a number like 3333 and it will go to the google link like this:
    http://www.google.com/maps?saddr=3333&daddr=40.000000,80.000000
Other times I type in the same number and it doesn't work.
Anyone see any problems with the code?
    echo "<script language=\"Javascript\">

    var str = \"left=0,screenX=0,top=0,screenY=0\";
    if (window.screen){
    var ah = screen.availHeight - 30;

The main problem I see is that it's written in Javascript, and this is a forum about Java, not about Javascript.
I can tell you that in Java there's a method available to URL-encode URL parameter values. For all I know there's one in Javascript too. There should be, in my opinion, but not knowing the language very well I couldn't tell you if there really is one.
