My iPad mini is dead. Please help. I have tried pressing the home and lock buttons, it just wont work.
Hi,
Last week, whilst charging my ipad mini, I took a look at it was charged upto 91%. I then decided to let it continue charging till 100% and would unplug it then. 30 Minutes later, I returned to my charger to find a dead ipad.
I tried everything (including pressing the home and lock screen) but it would not wake up. I then promptly took it to the service centre at Plaza Singapura and the customer service personnel said I would either need to pay SGD 450 for a replacement or alternatively just leave it as it is, dead.
Hence, I am urging the person reading this message to kindly suggest a better solution to re-awaken my dead iPad and also my faith in the company.
Thanks
If the Apple Authorised Service Provider has quoted you an out of warranty service fee then they have most likely found a hardware fault. If that is the case the iPad does need to be serviced, whether it is with the Service Provider or a 3rd party company is up to you. Keep in mind going with a 3rd party option can cause you to be denied serviced from Apple in any future services.

My ipad2 has suddenly decided not to connect to the internet either through Safari or email. My WiFi signal is strong and all other devices in my house are connecting ok. I have tried pressing the home and off buttons together to get the Apple Logo but this has not changed anything, still cannot connect. "Safari cannot open the page because your ipad is not connected to the internet"
I have done this and no difference
I have just realised what has caused the problem.
Yesterday I fitted an additional Homeplug with built in wireless N adapter ( I alreday have another type fitted from my main router position) The wireless system to my ipad is obviously "confused" . Having now removed the second homeplug and reset my ipad all is now ok -
My iPhone 4 has been dead for 24 hours and I've been charging it for 12 hours and it still won't turn on. I have tried holding the lock button and home button down, even connected it to computer but nothing's happening, it randomly died on me.
Hi Lauren,
When troubleshooting power issues, we want to make sure we have followed all steps outlined in the following article:
iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2802
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
- Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
- Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion.
Learn about LCIs and corrosion.
- Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
- After at least 15 minutes, if:
- The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
- The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
- Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
- If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
- If the display turns on, go to step 4.
- If the display remains black, go to next step.
- Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to
restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
- If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.
Thanks,

My i-phone wont turn on and I don't know why, it went off all of a sudden even thought the battery was half charged, I've tried holding the power and home buttons to reset it but that hasnt worked, I don't know what else to try, can anyone help?
Charge it for 30 minutes with the wall charger, then hold the HOME and SLEEP buttons at the same time for up to 30 seconds. If nothing happens your phone is probably broken.

My grandsons new Apple refurbed 35g ipad keeps locking up with a black screen amd nothing else. I have reset it many times pressing the home and off buttons together but it keeps locking up. Help, please!
Thank you for trying to help. I followed your instructions, it took 6 hours to download, and then said it could not solve the problem (something to do with error 9?). It will have to go back to Apple - its only 3 days since it came out of the package and its very disappointing for him. Looks like I have to hang around in the Apple store in Plymouth all tomorrow until they can fix it, or will change it. Thanks for your help.

my ipad is on an infinite loop. I used ios7 for a few days and then did updates on some of my apps. that's when the infinite loop started. I have tried pressing the power and home button at the same time, but it doesn't work. Please help!
I even tried some hints posted for ios6 (turn off Ipad, holding home button and plugging in power cord at the same time and then releasing the home button)
I did manage to get a different screen that shows the itunes icon and a power cord, but nothing happens. You were on the right track. You got the connect to iTunes screen and you ended to use iTujes to restore your iPad. Try recovery mode again.
Recovery Mode Instructions
Disconnect the USB cable from the iPad, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off iPad: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for iPad to turn off.
If you cannot turn off iPad using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the iPad turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to iPad. When you reconnect the USB cable, iPad should power on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears you can release the Home button.
If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the recovery mode alert that iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode.

My iPad 2 won't start even if I already went through pressing the home and start buttons simultaneously. I also tried charging the batteries for more than 30 minutes (done this procedure twice) but it won't still power on. What should I do next? Could it be a hardware issue then?

The iPhone6 I purchased 9/23/2014 went dead. Went to use the phone this afternoon and nothing. Tried turning the phone off/on, nothing. Tried rebooting phone by pressing the home and power button's while the phone was connected to power, nothing. Can't believe that the phone battery is dead or that the phone is fried after only six (6) months of usage. Any suggestions (hopefully other than purchasing a new phone) is appreciated.
Try the things in this Apple article (some of the which you may have already done). If none of them work go to an Apple Store if there is one in your area. Or contact Apple via the website for support help. As mentioned, as long as nothing is wrong with it that would void the warranty (liquid damage for example) then you're covered. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201412

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. -

my ipod will not charge or turn on or show any sign and its not jailbroken and i tried holding the home and power button and all that stuff but nothing works please helppppppp
Go through the steps here and see if anything works for you.
iOS: Not responding or does not turn on - Apple Support
You might have to bite the bullet and restore the device if nothing else works. If that doesn't bring it back to life, make an appointment at an Apple Store and let take a look at it.
