i have a first generation ipad mini which usually works fine. last night the ios update appeared in my settings and i tried to install it.
i didnt have enough space so deleted some apps and then installed.
the ipad switched on at the end but said the update failed as i didnt have enough space i needed a little more. i deleted more apps and attempted to install again
this failed my ipad is now stuck in recovery mode, it hasn't taken itself out as apples help pages suggest after 15 minutes its been in recovery now for 15 hours
i have tried to connect to itunes as the screen is telling me to but it will not recover from there either as apparently i can't connect to apple servers my connection isnt working - i assume because others are having this problem as i a using the same pc to post this message so know my network is fine.
i need help to get out of recovery mode - itunes says my software is up to date so i may have this nightmare software already.i originally tried to install the update using wifi and this did not work. i think i might just chuck the thing as looking on the boards all my stuff will be lost anyway - i backed up 2 days ago but that is nowhere to be found now in itunes or the cloud kmt

We tried to update iPad mini to iOS 8 via wifi yesterday. Now it shows the recovery mode screen and pressing home and power button in various ways does not help. We are on vacation without access to iTunes Or any other PC. We need iPad.

I have solved the same problem of my iPhone, this is my method:
Step 1: Disconnect the data cable and turn off your iPhone.
Step 2: Press the "Home" button and connect your iPhone to the computer with data cable, and then release the "Home" button.
Step 3: Now you have enter into recovery mode successfully.
Step 4: It is very easy for you to exit recovery mode. Please press both the "Home". button and "Power" button at the same time until the LOGO "white apple" appeared on the screen.
After that, if you found your iPad stuck in recovery mode, you can use FonePaw iPhone Data Recovery to get them back. -

My iPad will not respond to any other commands. I did some research and based on what I found I think I am stuck in recovery mode. Is there a possible way to get out of recovery mode and not lose all of my iPads data? Also I do not have an iTunes account. I would be extremely disappointed if my iPad lost all of its data. I fix it by using iTuens, here we go:
Press down the Home and Power buttons on your iPad until it shuts off.
Connect iPad to your computer with the USB cable.
Press and hold down the Home button.
Hold it down until iTunes says your device is entering recovery mode.
Now you should be able to Restore using iTunes.
If it can't work out your problem, you can use iPhone Data Recovery to kick your iPad out of recovery mode. -
I Bought an iPad mini for my girlfriend in the USA , and brought it to Europe to surprise her. When we attempted to activate, it will not connect to the server...and will not allow us to activate....any help someone can provide? Thanks. Chuck.
I agree. Or if you have a computer, connect your computer to the hotel's wifi, which will allow you to agree to the terms and conditions page, then use the computer to activate your iPad.
There are often issues with iDevices showing that you're connected to public wifi, but unless you can get the terms and conditions page to load so you can agree your connection is a dead end. You're connected but not allowed to do anything. -

My itunes is up-to-date.
Sudo nano command is not working.yes i am sure. This are the exact words... "The iPad "iPad" could not be restored. The disk you are attempting to use is full. (Removing files and emptying the recycle bin will free up additional space". i tried some options, hard reset, redsnow, tinyumbrella but still it's stuck.
