If the cover you bought is not a legitimate apple cover than you may be having the same issue I had.
The one I purchased has a top cover swivel, if you spin it around( meaning the top case cover)
The magnet will return to the correct spot and it will work again. It is only located at one end of the case.

Are you using the wall charger? It's unlikely to be the battery .

Hello everyone, this morning i went to turn on my ipad mini and it would not turn on. I've tried plugging it in to both the wall and computer and leaving it there for around 30 minutes and still nothing, black screen. I've also tried holding the power and home button for 10 seconds or so and still nothing. Nothing happens when I plug it into my computer. The ipad is just about 2 years old now and i'm starting to think its just dead. But before i throw it out is there anything else i could try? Thanks to everyone who responds.

Try again to charge your iPad using the wall charger that came with it. Plug the charger into a known good wall outlet. Let it charge for at least 30 minutes then reset the iPad by pressing and holding both the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button continuously until the Apple logo appears. Then release the button and let the device restart. You will not lose data doing this. It's like a computer reboot.
If the iPad restarts let it continue to charge until the battery is 100%. If the iPad does not restart make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support..

I need help!
Last night I went to go get my iPad Mini that I have had for a year. It would not turn on and it was on 50 %
I pressed the home button and power and it still would not turn on so I plugged it in to charge and nothing happened. The weird thing is when I push on the home button Siri comes on.
I have heared that if you push on the home and power button for a few seconds that your iPad, iPhone, ect will refresh. Is that true? I have been to scared to do that incase all my pictures and apps get deleted.
Please help me if you know what is going on and if all of my pictures and apps will get deleted.
I have had no problems ever on it and my iPad was fine that whole day. Out of nowhere it just stopped.

My iPad mini will not turn on for some reason.

I have my iPad mini, and for some reason it will not turn on. Earlier this morning it was on and working just fine, and then when I got it to get on it and play some games, it was not responding and the screen was just blank. I have no idea why it is doing this, so I would like to have some answers, because in class we need it sometimes, aka algebra. (It is my own personal iPad, not the schools)

What have you tried ?
Assuming that the battery isn't empty (it can take about 15 minutes of charging before it will respond), then have you tried a soft-reset to see if that gets it to boot up ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds, after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Ipad mini will not turn on or connect to itunes.

I turned off my ipad mini after closing the appstore and when i went to turn it back on, the apple logo started up for a few seconds, the screen brightness lights up, then it goes dim and stays on the apple logo forever. I have tried letting it go dead but when i boot it up it does this everytime. I cannot reset it because Itunes wont detect it. I have a warranty but i dont want to have to come to that, can anyone help me with this?

HT4061 My iPad Mini will not turn on or power up?

The other night when I was updating an app, my iPad Mini screen click and was frozen. I took a trip to the AT&T store yesterday and they tried to recharge, but the screen was frozen. As of today, I can not power up.

Is the screen lighting up when your press the home button?. If so a restore would be the next recommended route.
To restore your device fallow the steps below. please note your computer will need internet to do this.
1. Put the device into restore mode. [ Power off Device, Then hold home button with device still powered off. then plug the Data Cable into the device. keep holding the Home button.{ please note the data cable needs to be plugged into the computer for this.} After that you should get a iTunes icon on the screen.]
When that comes on. the computer should respond to it. and iTunes will let you know there is a device detected in a Restore mode.
2. Click on the restore button on the computer. Then iTunes will start to download the new iOS for your iPad. [also note. if the download takes longer than 20 mins. You will probably have to put the device back into restore mode.]
If after this step if your device is not responding then there is a hardware problem. and not a software problem.

Just received an iPad mini from my mother the iPad was up and running. I put the new update on it Friday night and Saturday evening plugging it in but it still had battery. TS1538 After trying to update to IOS 7 Ipad Mini is not shownig up in any windows based pc/laptop. what to do. Now charging externally is ok but no pc connectivity.
