My iPad Mini is quite slower since iOS 8

Could somebody on Apple help us? Since iOS 8 my iPad Mini has been turned extremely slow, its starting to act like an Abdroid phone (Quite Slow), please help!

Try some basic troubleshooting:
(A) Try reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
(B) Try reset all settings
Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
(C) Setup as new (data will be lost if you do not have backup)
Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings

  • IPad mini Wifi is slow

I just found out that my wifi on my iPad mini is very slow compared to my iPhone's speed. It has full bars but the wifi is slow. i did i side by side comparision with my iphone and found that it is lagging alot behind. Some times i cant even connect which means that i have to resst the network settings or turn off the device. HELP?!

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

updated ipad mini last night with the ios 7.6 and now am unable to restart the pad, we have tried charging it completely and have had no luck in restarting it

First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.  You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without be charged again.  Also, if you have IOS-7, read this.

  • IPad mini is very slow, it seems to be working harder since iOS 8 update. Does anyone have this problem?

I have an iPad minI, since the update to iOS 8 it's been very sluggish. When you double click the home button, its not smooth and seem less like iOS 7. is anyone else having this issue??

All that you had to do was to sign into the old account in order to update those apps. What I mean is that you just needed to sign into that account in the store settings like I described and that should have worked. You didnt need to enter the credit card information again - you justed needed to use the old ID and password.
Anyway, I think the good news is that if everything else is OK with the new account, just download iBooks with the new ID - it's a free app so its not like you have to pay for it again. I'm not sure what the other App is that you are talking about - but if it is the Apple Store App - that is free as well.
Try this anyway, when you try to update iBooks, just use the old password if the old ID still pops up.
Did you try signing into the store settings with your new ID and see what happens with the updates then?

  • Ipad Mini Charging Very Slow

    ***NEW PROBLEM***
My Ipad Mini (which I got in December) is now charging super slow (which I mean that's taken 3 hours or more) to get from 82% to 97% usually it takes like 1 hour depending on how low it is.
NOw this is very frusting considering how much the ipad was (I got it for a christmas present) but I know how much it was. This is ridicously every since the new update to IOS 6.1.2
THIS IS NOT COOL. If this is how apple is going to run, I will never purchese anything from Apple again.
    Get your act together.
    Sinceraly:
    Upset Apple Custmer.

Try doing a reset. Hold down the sleep and home keys, past the red power down slider and until you see the silver apple. See if that helps. If not, make an appointment at your local apple store and have them take a look.
Also, was that other charger an iPad charger? it's easy to try to use iPhone chargers with ipads, and while they do kinda work, they do not totally work since the iPad wants twice as much power as the iPhone charger puts out.
it will always be slow to charge on a computer. Your average USB puts out half as much power as the iPad wants.
Also, if you have a different cord, try swapping that out as well.
If an iPad wont' charge it's usually one of 4 things. Bad outlet, bad cable, bad power brick.
Swap those out and either confirm or rule then out, and it leaves the port on your iPad. And if it's that then it's time to take your device to the apple store and have them check it out.

  • My iPad mini won't upgraded to iOs 8.2

    Hi there,
I have an iPad mini with retina display for almost a year. Since last month, i couldn't upgrade my iOs on my iPad to the latest one. I have tried to upgrade it through iTunes but it always say there is something wrong with your connection. My wifi at home always perfect and i also have enough space (2,8gb) to upgrade into iOs 8.2 which required 2gb space of memory.
Is there anyone can advise me what should i do?
    Many thanks in advance!

    Hi Brett L,
Thank you for your reply, really appreciated and can't wait to give it a try. Unfortunately I'm having problem in updating my software on my MacBook Air.
I have tried to update it on mac terminal but it kept loading and never get to the end. Apple store also does the same, keep loading but never allow me to actually update my software.
Do you have any idea how I can solve this problem?
    My thanks in advance!

  • Why my ipad mini is so slow on wifi?

Well, I've bought an iPad Mini last April. I'm more of a Microsoft guy but I decided to give Apple a chance... but since I got this device iTunes takes forever to load, pictures in tumblr, youtube videos, everything that comes from the wifi connection. By the way I have a 6 mbps connection with a TP-LINK TR-WR841N in my home (I have a little place so signal strengh is quite good). The Router is standard is N and I don't have any other things connected while I use the iPad to the router connection.
My iPad Mini is Model MD528LL/A and I have updated its software to 6.1.3 (10B329).
I've read in various forums that some iPad Mini models have issues with router other than NETGEAR. I don't want to buy a router for my iPad to work well... What can I do? I'm from Argentina, Buenos Aires... yeah... south america.

Also check your internet speed. Bring it up with your ISP if necessary.

  • IPad mini - How to downgrade from iOS 7 to 6.1.3?

I have updated my iPad mini from version 6.1.3 to 7, and then 7.0.2. The apperance is amazingly new and elegant but the performance has gone down tremendously.
Almost all applications run slower, more laggy, even facebook and safari.
The screen is also less sensitive: As my game requires speed and accuracy, the lack of responsibility drives me failed from time to time.
Battery drains too quickly: 40-45 minutes of use may take out 20-25% battery, especially playing game.
The device produces more heat. I have never had such feeling for Apple devices before!
Wifi takes longer to connect, about 3-7 times slower than prior versions. Some times I have to turn off and turn on again to fix the connection problems.
I do desire to have iOS 6.1.3 back to live on my device. Anyone could help?

Downgrading is not supported by Apple.

  • Unable to connect iPhone 6 and iPad mini via bluetooth for handoff iOS 8.1

    Hi,
I have been trying to use handoff(Continuity)  between my iPad mini and iPhone 6 both using iOS 8.1.
I managed to be able to do it with iOS 8 with a 5c instead of a 6 but now my iPad can not be detected on my phone and vice versa and if they do appear they will not connect and then disappear off the list.
Its a shame one of the main features I was looking forward to I am unable to use (I can't even use it on my mac because it is outdated!)
Is there anyway to get around this?
Also I know this is off topic but I travel on trains a lot and my iPad mini is not cellular if I can get handoff working again is it possible to still use the sms forwarding feature?
    Thanks,
    Bruce

Your post reads like you think that you are reporting a bug to Apple but be advised that this is a user-to-user technical help forum. You aren't talking to Apple here just other users like yourself. This isn't a bug reporting forum.
To report a problem to Apple use: http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html
Be advised, however, that I and many others are using iOS 6.1 with WPA2-secured WiFi networks with no problems at all. (iPad 3, iPad 4, iPhone 5)
Did anyone suggest checking if the firmware in your Comcast router is up-to-date or suggest something as simple as restarting the router by removing power to it for 30 seconds?

  • IPad mini retina constantly reboots after iOS 8.1 update - help!

    Hello,
I've downloaded on iPad mini Retina 16 GB iOS 8.1 update and installed it directly from the device (so no iTunes involvement). After it got installed with black apple on white screen (process seemed to be finished) - it started rebooting, but instead of starting up it shows shortly (for just a second) blue screen, after goes black and then reboots again - and all this in constant flux: white screen with black apple - blue flash - black screen - white screen with apple. Connecting to iTunes doesn't make anything - it doesn't recognise the device while in state of reboot.
    What can I do?
    Help!

    Hey there,
Got exactly the same problem here. Can't even reset/ shut off the device, so it keeps on flashing with the blue screen.

  • HT1222 Hi there just bought new iPad mini and can't get iOS 7 to update on it???

Help can't seem to update my new iPad mini to IOS 7 x

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 7.0.2. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily.  Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).
Tip 2 - If you're updating via wifi, place your iPad close to your router to preclude getting a corrupted download.
How to Upgrade to iOS 7
The iOS 7.0 update requires around 2.5 GB of storage space, so if your iPad is almost full, you may need to clear up some space. You can check your available space in Settings -> General -> Usage.
There are two ways to upgrade to iOS 7: You can use your Wi-Fi connection, or you can connect your iPad to your PC and update through iTunes. We'll go over each method.
    To upgrade using Wi-Fi:
Note: If your iPad's battery is under 50%, you will want to plug it into your charger while performing the update.
        1.    Go into the iPad's Settings.
        2.    Locate and tap "General" from the menu on the left.
        3.    The second option from the top is "Software Update". Tap this to move into the update settings.
        4.    Tap "Download and Install". This will start the upgrade, which will take several minutes and will reboot your iPad during the process. If the Download and Install button is grayed out, trying clearing up some space. The space required by the update is mostly temporary, so you should gain most of it back after iOS 7 is installed.
        5.    Once the update is installed, you may have to run through the initial steps of setting up your iPad again. This is to account for new features and settings.
    To upgrade using iTunes:
First, connect your iPad to your PC or Mac using the cable provided when you purchased your device. This will allow iTunes to communicate with your iPad.
You will also need the latest version of iTunes. Don't worry, you will be prompted to download the latest version when you launch iTunes. Once it installs, you may be asked to setup iCloud by logging into your iTunes account. If you have a Mac, you may be prompted on whether or not you want to enable the Find my Mac feature.
Now you are ready to begin the process:
        1.    If you upgraded iTunes earlier, go ahead and launch it. (For many, it will launch automatically when you plug in your iPad.)
        2.    Once iTunes is launched, it should automatically detect that a new version of the operating system exists and prompt you to upgrade to it. Choose Cancel. Before updating, you will want to manually sync your iPad to make sure everything is up to date.
        3.    After canceling the dialog box, iTunes should automatically sync with your iPad.
        4.    If iTunes doesn't automatically sync, you can manually do it by selecting your iPad within iTunes, clicking on the File menu and choosing Sync iPad from the list.
        5.    After your iPad has been synced to iTunes, select your iPad within iTunes. You can find it on the left side menu under Devices.
        6.    From the iPad screen, click on the Update button.
        7.    After verifying that you want to update your iPad, the process will begin. It takes a few minutes to update the operating system during which time your iPad may reboot a few times.
        8.    After updating, you may be asked a few questions when your device finally boots back up. This is to account for new settings and features.
