Does that id show on the right-hand side of Settings > Store or does yours show ? If the wrong one shows then logout of it by tapping on it and then log in with your .
Do you recognise the id that is being shown - is it one that you've previously used (in which case any apps that you bought/downloaded with it can only be re-downloaded or updated via it) or is it a friend's id ( have you ever connected to somebody else's computer/iTunes) -

Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears

Are you trying to setup the Apple TV? Have you input your Apple ID correctly?

Cannot do updates keeps asking for Apple ID after putting your password in it keeps telling you your Apple ID is incorrect even after reset new password.
Did you go to Settings>iTunes and App Store and sign out and then sign in with the new password?

Try the advice here. I had the same problem and it worked for me.
You have to delete the "SC Info" folder from /Users/Shared. You will have to use Terminal to enable you to see this folder first. Make sure iTunes is not running when you delete the "SC Info" folder
There is an article from Apple on this here. The "SC Info" folder contains iTunes authorization information.
I did this two weeks ago and iTunes accepted by login. I haven't been asked for my AppleID or password since. -
