My IPad 2 will not start. I have tryed to reset and this still did not help. After I reset the Apple logo comes on for just a second then is gone leaving a blank screen.

Standard troubleshooting...
1. Try a Restart by pressing the sleep/lock button until you see the slider. Slide to power off. Restart by pressing the sleep/lock button until you see the Apple logo.
2. Try a Reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider if, it comes up. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
3. Remove all apps from Recently Used list...
- From any Home Screen, double tap the home button to bring up the Recents List
- Tap and hold any icon in this list until they wiggle
- Press the red (-) to delete all apps from this list.
- Press the home button twice when done.
4. If still a problem restore with your backup.
5. If still a problem restore as new, i.e. without your backup. See how it runs with nothing synced to it.
6. If still a problem, it's likely a hardware issue.

My ipad mini is practically brand new only 6 months old..purchased new! Today it flashed and shut down on me and will not power back up...the device has never been dropped and has no physical damage what so ever...nothing!! I'm not sure where to turn...I moved recently and left the original packaging and receipt in another state by accident...I know, real stupid right...I use my mini for EVERYTHING!!! Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased.

Firefox used to run but now will not open. I have tried the reset and allowing windows firewall. Any suggestions?

What is a hard reset? There is nothing in any of Apple's documentation that refers to a hard reset.
There's a reset, a restart, and a restore.
Please explain EXACTLY what you did.

If you have completed all Apple troubleshooting steps with no change, more than likely your iPhone has a hardware problem. call AppleCare or make an appointment at an Apple store if there is one nearby.

Does the charger get warm at all? Plug the cable into your computer with iTunes open. Does it say not charging.? If it does, the cable is good. The iPad will charge very slowly when pluged into your computer.
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
