Have you tried to reset your iPad and/or force close the app?

Ok - an update ...
Managed to get the phone to backup to iCloud, so decided to risk the "Factory" reset.
Took the reset option including delete all data and crossed fingers.
It took a while to resotre from iCloud, but everthing seems to be back and ...
Bluetooth now working agaim.
Backup to Computer working again.
And somewhat to my surprise, GMail in the mail app is working again. (The surprise being that the implication of other posts was that this was a 6.1.3 fundamental bug)
Still no idea why the iPhone was corrupted - but at least the "Factory" reset seems to have recovered the situation.

Go ahead and set it up as new. It's just new as far as iTunes is concerned. Shouldn't result in the loss of anything.

Many developers when they updated their apps to support iOS 5 and 6 dropped compatibility for iOS 4.2.1 and earlier.
Your only way is if you have the version that was compatible on your computer such as in the recycle bin/trash or in a computer file backup. In that case delete the current version that is in your iTunes App library and replace it with the older version. Then sync.

My 5140 suddenly froze and now I can't turn it on

Without any warning the phone froze up, and since I couldn't turn it off I removed the battery and put it back in.
Now I can't turn it on.
I've tried removing the SIM-card, I've tried charging the battery, but still no life-signs.
The little light on the top left of the phone is on, so it obviously has power.

Ipad keeps restarting/resetting. restored and now wont even activate

Today my ipad suddently started restarting/resetting every few minutes. I did a restore to factory settings and now it wont activate and continues to restart. Is there anything else to try other than bringing it in?

If you can't restore, the next step is to go into recovery mode as described here.
Note you may have to try to get into recovery mode more than once for it to succeed.
