My iPad only sends audio to tv but no video

When I connect my Ipad to tv with apple composite cable I only get audio but no video.

Has ANYONE found any info on this?
I'm so annoyed.  I wanted to watch some movies on a TV during vacation.  Got the composite video out cable. Can ONLY get audio. I've tried ipad 1 , ipad 2, iphone 4 and 3 different tv's .  All same result.
I've also tried youtube app and the tv shows I have from itunes on these devices.
Anyone have any ideas??

Welcome to the Apple community TMOZINGO.
If you are unable to remember your password, security questions, don’t have access to your rescue address or are unable to reset your password for whatever reason, your only option is to contact AppleCare(or Apple ID Support), upon speaking to an operator you should explain that your problem is related to your Apple ID, this way you will not be charged for assistance, even if you don’t have an AppleCare plan.
The operator will take you through some steps you may have already tried, however they need to be sure they have exhausted all usual approaches before trying to reset your account, so you should try to be helpful and show patience with the procedure.
The operator will need to verify they are speaking to the account holder and may ask you some questions that only the account holder could know, and you will need to answer them if the process is to proceed.
Once the operator has verified your identity they will send a message through to your device which contains an alpha numeric code, which you will need to read back to them.
Once this has been completed they will send an email to your iCloud email address after a period of 24 hours, so you should check that mail is enabled in your devices iCloud settings.
Upon receipt of the email, use the reset link provided to reset your password, after which you should be able to make the adjustments to iCloud that you wish to do.

  • HT204291 I cannot get video to play from my iPad.  I don't use this function often but it do work several upgrades ago.  The audio plays fine but no video....... Any advice or suggestions appreciated.

I do not use the function very often but AirPlay has worked fine in the past (several OS updates ago on both iPad and apple tv).  The audio plays fine but no video????  Any suggestions.

interesting......  you know i tried other media and it worked fine.  i was trying to play 'amazon instant video'.  when you say 'blocked ... by the providor' it seems to me that Amazon would have no interest in restricting the play.  is it the producer of the content that resticts the play through some form of licensing or is it apple that restricts amazon play by limiting access to technology?  either way its anti-competitive.

  • When I import my files only the audio plays back not the video. If I export the sequence its there?

When I import my files only the audio plays back not the video. If I export the sequence its there?
I am new to Premiere having just downloaded the 30 day trial yesterday, I jumped straight in and imported all of my files from my video camera however in Premiere only the audio plays back with the displays just showing a black space.
Out of curiosity I dragged three or four shots into the sequence editor and then exported them and played this through VLC and the video was there?
As I said I am completely new to Premiere having only spent around 3 or 4 hours with it in the past, I read a few forum threads around similar issues but couldn't find any solutions and as I am trying to edit together a short film for a college project due in soon I need to try and find a way to fix this A.S.A.P
Any help would be appreciated and if theres any more info I can provide please let me know.
    Thanks
    Drew

  • APE 12 exporting to MPEG only the audio is rendered not the video. Exports to other formats.

When exporting (rendering) a HD video through Adobe Premier Elements  12 to MPEG only the audio is rendered not the video. Exports to other formats.

I'm actually surprised that you can playback ProRes files in Windows Media Player, which normally exploits neither QuickTime components, nor reverse-engineered decoders from ffmpeg library... So as to be able to successfully import ProRes media into Adobe products you have to get QuickTime 7 installed (the latest version is 7.7.4). If your files are not corrupted and you didn't somehow install something like K-Lite codec pack on your machine, you should be good to go.

  • MacBook Pro Early 2011 - Airplay Mirroring only sends audio to Apple TV 2nd Gen

Ok, I'm stumped by this one. I have a 15" MBP Early 2011 edition and an Apple TV 2nd Gen. Airplay Mirroring from my MBP to Apple TV only transmits the audio -- the MBP will resize the screen like it's connected to a 16:9 device, and Apple TV will show a black screen like it's about to pick up the video signal, but no video transmits. A couple of times, video started transmitting, but it was about 30 seconds delayed (?!) and extremely choppy. Both devices are connected wirelessly to a Linksys router with 5 GHz (wireless N) capabilities. The router has been configured to Apple's recommendations for Airplay Mirroring.
A little more about my MacBook Pro:
    Early 2011 Model ID: MacBookPro8,2
    OS: 10.8.2 Mountain Lion
    CPU: Intel Core i7
      Processor Speed:          2 GHz
      Number of Processors:          1
      Total Number of Cores:          4
L2 Cache (per Core):          256 KB
      L3 Cache:          6 MB
    Memory: 4 GB
GPU: AMD Radeon HD 6490M, VRAM 256 MB Total
This problem is driving me crazy! Airplay works flawlessly between my iPhone 5 and Apple TV, but not with a much more powerful laptop. Also, I tried Mirroring from a friend's 13" MacBook Pro, and it did the same thing.
Any suggestions, tips, ideas, etc. to get this working is appreciated!

    Rudegar wrote:
your macbook dont support airplay mirror
He has an Early-2011 MacBook Pro, which does meet the requirements. The issue is that it is running OS X 10.7.5 and needs to be upgraded to Mountain Lion to use mirroring.

  • Audio is working, but no video

Yesterday an update for flash player was installed on my computer.  Since then, I only have audio without video.  If I run the mouse over the area where the video should be, it may show part of the video for a second and then it's back to audio only.  No error messages have appeared. I uninstalled the flash player and  then reinstalled...didn't help.  I scanned the computer with my Norton, no problems found. I am able to watch videos that don't use flash player.
Windows 7, not sure of all the specs, but the computer was purchased (new) about 5 weeks ago .

I hope this is what you wanted...

  • CS4 rendering and the audio is fine but the video freeze half way through

    Hi I need your help
I am using Premiere Pro CS4 on a MAC,
We have a project that is using multicam editing of footage from 2 cameras. the footage is fine in the timeline when you move through the time line the footage is 2hours 20 min when edited.
When rendering this out it takes about 9 hours when you play footage back it stops at the 43 min mark the audio continues but the video freezes on the frame for the rest of the footage.
We have rendered a small clip 5 mins ether side of the footage where this happens and the footage is fine when played back.
Do you have any ideas as to what I can do
    Rodney

    Rodney,
The first thing that I would look for would be a gap in the Video, and especially in that 43 min. range. Even a 1 Frame gap can cause issues. I find that gaps can be tough to spot, even when the Timeline is zoomed into the frame-level. I use the keyboard shortcuts, PageUp & PageDn, to step through the Clips. The CTI (Current Time Indicator) should jump smoothly from Clip to Clip. If you encounter a little hiccup, or pause, you have likely found a gap. This is the first thing that I would rule out. If there are no gaps, then something else seems to be happening at that 43 min. mark.
To rule out another possibility, though a remote one, are you Exporting to an external HDD, that is perhaps formatted to FAT-32 (max file size ~ 4GB), which is the normal format for an external to go between a Mac and PC, as the Mac cannot yet use the NTSF format. Like I said, this is not very likely, especially as your Audio keep playing.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Select FLV's audio is playing but not video in IE

-- Using Flash 8 Video Encoder (with ON2's codec) to generate
the flvs. They play fine in Firefox. But the video does nopt
display (though the audio does play) in IE 6 and 7 on windows xp
    sp2.
-- someone else who used Sorensen's video encoder (which i
assume uses the previous Sorensen Spark codec) - these flvs display
fine on IE 6 and 7.
I seem to be running the latest Flash plugins on both
machines i testing on - though I am not sure the best way to test
this. It does seem like a video codec issue...

On your iPod, go to the main menu, Videos, Video Settings, then turn the TV Out option to OFF.

  • Audio is great, but no video

I recently purchased a Panasonic PV GS31 mini DV camcorder. After shooting a few movies of my daugter, I imported them into iMovie 4.01 and tried to play them. The audio is there, but I have no video, just a black screen. I have the same results using Quicktime 7.03. Anybody have a solution or run into a similar problem?
Do I need iMovie DV in order to work with a DV camcorder? Why can't I open them in Quicktime either?

    Hi Stephen.
Any type of iMovie should work OK with a DV Camcorder - that's what it's been designed for - for the past 5 years.
I assume you used a FireWire cable to import your video?
Have you got your iMovie project set for the format of your camera - PAL or NTSC?
If everything is set up OK you can sometimes get glitches that stop things working properly.
    1. Try removing and re-connecting the FireWire cable.
    2. Turn off the computer and unplug the power cable for a minute.
When importing you should see the video in the monitor.
    Ian.

  • Airplay only streaming audio portion from iTunes music videos

    ip5, ipad2 & 3 all current f/w & Apple TV2 :
Just all working correctly a little over a month or so ago.  Now, can only get audio portion from music videos when Itunes Match is turned ON.  Downloading music videos to local device & turning off Match on said device allows for proper a/v playback.  Other: going into itunes/purchases and clicking on any purchased video will properly play to ATV2.  Videos played via safari, youtube, other apps, also play just fine.
I've rest all devices, including router, nothing.  Also restored AV2 & ipad3 just to make sure that the most recent firmware update to all devices was not the cause; result still the same.  Friend attempted to play a music video they had on their iphone4/ipad2 and they too couldn't play a purchased iTunes Music Video properly.
Airplay is turned on on all devices.
Do people think this is a bug in the backend of Match or other?  any help would be great, thank you.

What you want to do is, unfortunately, not possible. If you want to listen to just the audio for those songs you'll have to buy the audio tracks.
    Regards,
    Michael

  • Imovie mp4 imports - audio imports fine but not video

I have attempted to import several mp4 files some import fine while the majority import only the audio without the video.

That's could be caused by the incompatible codec of your mp4 files. iMovie can support mp4 files encoding with H.264 and MPEG-4. I'm not sure whether your files are in such codec. Maybe you can try a video converter to help you convert your mp4 files to iMovie first. it's simple and you just need to "Add File"-> "Convert to"-> "iMovie"-> "iMovie H.264(*.mp4)"/"iMovie ProRes(*.mov)".

  • Ipad 3 sends and receives email but can no longer connect to the Internet with Safari.

Other Ipads in house (Ipad 3 and Ipad 2) work fine. Iphones, Imac also work fine. I have rebooted the Ipad, renewed the lease, closed and reopened Safari, turned airplane mode on/off, etc. etc. Ipad also won't connect to Itunes. Basically, I have run out of ideas. Thought it was not connecting to Wifi but it still sends and receive semail and texts / imessages. This is a wifi only model.
Thanks in advance for your ideas.

Try rebooting the router by powering it off for 15-30 seconds.

  • Clips only show audio in PE9, but run fine in Organizer

In PE 9 the preview of my clips only show the wave of the audio.
I have reinstalled PE9 but it makes no difference. Startup is incredibly slow, it easily takes 10 minutes for a project to open..
I have tried to delete the prefs file at appdata\roaming\adobe\prem elements\9.0\Premiere elements prefs  but it makes no difference (is this the right file? it has no extension).
On the net there is a tip to click ctrl-alt-shift and then click to start up PE, whioch then supposedly gives you an option to delete the prefs, but I dont think anything happens.
Extra strange is that it all used to work all right, suddenly the clips were audio only. I cannot pipoint a change on my system that could the the cause. It happened after I worked a lot in Organizer.
BTW My program is on C, the data are on D.
Does Organizer treat clips differently then PE itself?
    Thanks

  • How Can I Create a Menu Where the Audio Loops Twice But the Video Loops Forever

I'm wanting to create a 50 second looping menu with a video background and some music, but I only want the music to play twice.  After the second time the music plays, I'd like the video background to continue looping, but not have any music.
How could I achieve this while giving the user the ability to make menu selections at any time?  I've seen it done on a number of commerically available DVDs and Blu-rays, but I can't figure out how to do it in Encore.
    I'm using Encore CS6.
    Thanks.

    Stan Jones wrote:
I do not know if that works, but I don't see why it wouldn't.
I'm not sure what you're referring to.  Are you referring the commercially available DVDs that I've seen achieving what I mentioned in the first post?
There's definately a way to do this, but perhaps Encore just insn't capable. I always find it annoying when a DVD menu loops music or some other audio infinately.  I may stick a disc in the player and walk into the other room to do something while it's loading up.  I always appreciate it when whoever made the disc only has the music or audio looping a couple of times, then it stops.
Just wish I could do the same.
