My iPad says I have unread email, but really don't

My iPad says I have unread mails, even after I have deleted everything in the inbox, and restarted the device. This really bugs me. Someone please help?

Restore your iPad.  Plug it in to iTunes (current version - 11.0.1).  Let it sync.  Then click "Restore" from the right side of iTunes.

    That's because your mail account is a POP account. That means that even when you delete or read a message on one of your devices, it stays unread on the server. If you log in to your mail account on the website and delete the messages, they won't be coming to your devices any longer. But the once which already came to your iPad must be deleted manually.

    Im having this same problem an my phone is about 3 weeks old. I am not sure about the voice over part though...I have not yet figured out how to work the voice recognition part of the phone...I am such a newbie with this phone. I did the power off/on suggestion, several times. I tried leaving it off for 10 minutes. Tried to reset with the power on/off and home button pressed at the same time. Charged battery. Still makes no difference. You cannot scroll any direction. Have to double click to open apps. Have to double click letters when texting or emailing in order to get the letter in the text box. Can scroll through app choices, have to click on the line with the dots in it and move from page to page. Can't access the settings - > general - > accessibility - because it won't allow me to scroll down to "general".
    Anyone help you with your fix yet?

  • Inbox says I have unread messages but I can't find them

    My inbox says I have 45 unread messages (and the number gets higher every day) but I can't find them.  I have gone through all my emails but everything has been read.  How do I fix this?

    This was driving me crazy as well.  Here is how I solved it:
    1. Right click on Inbox and Mark all as read
    2. Go to each subfolder and Mark All Read
    3. Run outlook.exe /cleanviews (enter it in Start panel to run this command)
    4. Close Outlook and restart as Administrator
    5. Again Mark all read (repeat in subfolders)
    6. Close and restart normally
    The unread count disappeared.  No clue where this ghostly email resided, but given that I checked
    all subfolders,  I feel ok that I did not miss anything. Be sure to check your rules too, in case you are moving incoming messages and don't remember setting up such a  rule.

    Go into Settings>Mail Contacts & Calendars. Select the Mail account, turn it off, wait a few seconds, durn it back on.

  • TB 31.1.2 running in Mac 10.6.8 reports that it is downloading "x" number of unread emails, but when done none of the email(s) are to be found anywhere.

    TB 31.1.2 automatically checks for new mail after entering TB password. It then reports, for example, that it is downloading "3 new unread messages" (or whatever number of messages). When complete, the messages are nowhere to be found either in the TB file system or on the 10-6-8 Mac computer. The email provider reports that the problem has nothing to do with their mail system. Of course, there is no way to identify the sender(s) unless a sender reports that they sent an email. Most emails are downloaded by TB as normal, but since May of 2014 more than 60 mails have "disappeared". Thanks for your help.

    No, I do not have email scanning from an (aftermarket) anti-virus program. The only protections as such are what may already be built in to TB, or the

  • AppIcon saying there are new emails, but really there are none.

    After logging into icloud.com, you get the screen with the 7 applications on. Normally the Mail icon would have no AppIcon on it if there are no new emails, for some reason for the past few weeks this has been stuck on 9 new emails - has anyone had this problem and manage to resolve it, or is it an issue that lies with the website and Apple?

    I have the same situation (there seems to be lots of emails sent through my Icloud account. I don't see those emails in my "sent" folder, but I can see plenty of email (Chinese spam emails) bounced back into my account stating that I have exceded the sending limits. I cannot send anything either from my account (of course, the sending limit is alwasy exceeded). I have also changed twice my password, but the issue remains.
    Any clues?
    I am really surprised at this. I was from the begining with .Mac, and never had any issue during all these years. This is now with Icloud, which should be safer and better  :-(

    Last night I was using my Ipod and it worked fine without the headphones. When I woke up this morning it isn't working, when I turn the volume up it says i have headphones in but I don't. I have already tried the trick with taking out and putting in the headphones and i have reset it like 5 times now.

    You may have something stuck inside the headphone jack, blow inside a few times and see if that works. If not, restore the iPod. If that does not work, then that will indicate a hardware problem and you will need to get it fixed by Apple.

    Quit Mail.
    Go to the Home screen and double click the Home button. That will reveal the row of recently used apps at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold on the app in question until it wiggles and displays a minus sign. Tap the minus sign to actually quit the app. Then tap anywhere on the screen above that bottom row to return the screen to normal. Then restart the app and see if it works normally.

    If you are unable to remember your password, security questions, don’t have access to your rescue address or are unable to reset your password for whatever reason, your only option is to contact AppleCare(or Apple ID Support), upon speaking to an operator you should explain that your problem is related to your Apple ID, this way you will not be charged for assistance, even if you don’t have an AppleCare plan.
    The operator will take you through some steps you may have already tried, however they need to be sure they have exhausted all usual approaches before trying to reset your account, so you should try to be helpful and show patience with the procedure.
    The operator will need to verify they are speaking to the account holder and may ask you some questions that only the account holder could know, and you will need to answer them if the process is to proceed.
    Once the operator has verified your identity they will send a message through to your device which contains an alpha numeric code, which you will need to read back to them.
    Once this has been completed they will send an email to your iCloud email address after a period of 24 hours, so you should check that mail is enabled in your devices iCloud settings.
    Upon receipt of the email, use the reset link provided to reset your password, after which you should be able to make the adjustments to iCloud that you wish to do.
