Take it to an Apple Store for evaluation. It sounds like a hardware problem.

have you tried charging the device ?
if so and it still does not work you can try a Forced Recovery..
by holding the HOME button down and plugging it into your computer at the same time..

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.

  • My ipads screen has gone half black

this is my cousins ipad that he asked me to take a look at to see, if i could fiqured out what was wrong with it no luck yet,  from what my cousin told me is that it has never been dropped or left in the car to long, there are no real stractches or definable marks anywhere on the pad to make me think other wise.  Any way he said one day just out of the blue the screen just went half black and the other part was perfectically norrmal and you can still touch and operate where you can see or best guess. Originally i was thinking that i wouild just replace the lcd and maybe that was causing some kind of bleeding from the lcd.  but when i turn the ipad, the bad side and good side shift when you rotate them. so that made me reconsider that it was more a software or hardware problem.  So i did the basics i could think of:  a reset of the device, with no result, so from there i followed up with plugging the ipad up to my computer and doing a erase and resync to the older back up software which in turn only made it worse and now you can only see on the left bottom corner, blue, white, black. and i think it was green,  any way this stripes only show up in the bottom right corner taking up about a quarter of the ipad
Any suggestions on how to fix this the guys at apple store did there normal response to say i needd to buy a new one, which is not a finiacial option at this point in time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD HELP

This is not a software issue with the iPad - and you may find that by the time all is said and done, you would be better off with an out of warranty replacement iPad when you measure the time and cost factors involved.

  • My IPad 2 will not start. I have tryed to reset and this still did not help.  After I reset the Apple logo comes on for just a second then is gone leaving a blank screen.

My IPad2 will not start after pushing the home button and the sleep button.  The Apple logo is on for a short time then the screen goes black.

i just wanted to know what will happen to all of my pictures and videos if i restore my ipad, i dont want to lose that stuff, also i tried to update my ipad, it tells me to plug it in to the computer and when i do, it shows on itunes its extracting the data or something like that, but it does not began the update process, after awhile it just brings up ipad device not found, and then my ipad dies so i charge and let it charge all day till night time and all that pops up is the plug in to the itunes image on my screen, so i need to know what to do, please help me.

  • IPad screen has gone blue/green and will not work

My iPad 1 screen has gone to black when it is turned on and willl not work. Screen stays blue/green for about 30 seconds and then turns off. Unit is charged fully and has been updated to current operating software. Gerry

Have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
If that doesn't work then you could see if you can get it into recovery mode and restore it to your last backup : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808
But you might need to contact Apple.

  • My ipad screen has gone black but I can still touch the screen and unlock it and do things. I don't know what's wrong can someone help

My ipad screen has gone black and I don't know what to do the screen still works and I can still unlock it and I can still type. But I don't know what to do can anyone help me it will be much appreciated

If the reset doesn't do it then it's possible that the backlight or another part of your screen has broken. Unfortunately it's not really user servicible. I'd make an appointment at your local apple store and have them check it out. If your device is still under warranty and they don't determine that the damage was the result of 'abuse or neglect' (their words) then it could be a free replacement.
I'd just do a backup before you take it in, just in case.

My iPad screen has gone black.  I have tried resetting it with the sleep and home buttons and it only flashes the apple on the screen for a nano second and then it goes black again.  I can even hear notifications arriving, but I cannot see anything...I'd rather not reset it to the factory settings as I have a lot of things I worry about using.  Either way seems to me that the system itself is working since I can hear it working, but its the screen that isn't.  It has not been dropped and has been in a case for years!  Please help!

When the power is on and I press the home button, I can slide my finger where the slider bar "would be" and it makes the noise as if its "opening" flashes a blue screen then returns black...

  • My iPad2 screen has gone blank (black)

My iPad2 screen has gone blank (black) then will flash red and maybe to the homescreen, then turns blank again. I have restored the ipad like it says online, but it is still doing it. Can somebody please help, or is it a write off? Thanks

IF the reset and restore doesn't bring it back then I'm afraid it's time to make an appointment at the apple store. See what they say and then make the decision if your money is best spent on a same model replacement or to invest in a new one

  • My iPad screen has gone to a fuzzy grey and the machine won't operate. Any suggestions?

My iPad screen has gone to a fuzzy grey and the machine won't operate. Any suggestions?

    FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
    1. Turn off iPad
    2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
    3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
    4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
    5. Release Home button.
    ON COMPUTER
    6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
    7. Select "Restore iPad"...
    Note:
    1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
    2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY.
    3. Repeat the process if necessary.

  • My iPhone 4s is stuck on a black screen that shows a USB cable connecting to iTunes. The phone will not turn on and the iTunes logo as I described only shows up when I plug the phone into the charger or my computer. I have tried the reset in restore mode

My iPhone 4s is stuck on a black screen that shows a USB cable connecting to iTunes. The phone will not turn on and the iTunes logo as I described only shows up when I plug the phone into the charger or my computer. I have tried the reset in restore mode as well as the DFU? mode and it still will not work. I have the latest version of iTunes on my Mac. My error code was 2002. I also tried it on my laptop (windows 8.1) and none of the above worked. My error code on my laptop was 02. The phone is through Verizon and it has absolutely no damage. It was working fine up until this and I have been trying to fix it for 2 days. Please help! I am unsure of what version the phone was currently running on before this because I have another iphone that's my primary phone and have not used this one in about a month. I do not believe it was updated to IOS 7.

Your iPhone is in recoverty mode at the moment so to possibly get it back up and running you would need to do a restore as you have been trying. Follow the steps in the article below for the specific error messages you have been receiving. If after following all steps the issue remains book an appointment at a local Apple Retail Store to have the iPhone evaluated.

Try a soft reset or turn the device completely off then turn it back on again. Also you can toggle Airplane mode on for about 10 seconds and then turn it off. Sometimes that resets the radio signal inside the device.
A soft reset is basically holding onto the power button and the home button simultaneously together for about 10 seconds or until you see the screen flash and it should go completely black. Afterwards, tun the device back on like normally and see if that fixes the problem.

  • How do you update an apps on iPad when it says "this update is for an app downloaded with a different Apple ID.  I have tried both mine and my husbands ID and it still won't work?

I have tried to update an apps on my mini iPad but it says this update is for an app downloaded with a diffrent Apple ID.  Sign in with that Apple ID and try again.  I have tried both mine and my husbands ID and it still does not work.

We'll you can either do as Niel suggested, delete it and download it again with one of the two Apple ID's, or if you want to be sure that one of the two you actually bought the app, look in the purchased tab of the App Store when you are signed into your ID and see if the app shows up in there and if not, then sign into your husband's ID and see if the app shows up with his ID.
After you you figure out who actually bought the app, use that ID to update it. If it still doesn't work, try signing out of that ID, restart the iPad, sign in again and try to update again.
