Try restarting
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears (ignore the ON/OFF slider) then let both buttons go and wait for phone to restart (no data will be lost).

I've got a late 2009 iMac 27". When I start it up, it chimes and makes all the normal sounds. The screen flashes white for 2 seconds, then goes black. The iMac starts up (if I use an external monitor, it works fine) but the screen remains black.
Weirdly, if I start it up on Bootcamp as a Windows machine, it flashes white, then flashes briefly a few seconds later on the Windows logo, then goes to black.
I've reformatted the hard drive and performed a clean install of Lion. I've got some Apple knowledge, so I've taken the front bezel off and checked for loose connections. Everything appears fine. All 4 diagnostic lights are on on the logic board.
I'm stumped. I don't want to splash out on a new LCD screen if it's the inverter or something else that's the problem
Any ideas welcome!Ah. I'm not able to run the hardware test because it only works on the main screen. There's no obvious way to switch to an external monitor when AHT is running, which is ridiculous if the hardware fault concerns the screen! The problem isn't with the backlight - there is no dimmed image on the screen, it is just off.
I'll just have to use it with an external monitor, I guess - which defeats the purpose of buying an iMac!

I have tried to restore my old iPhone 3, but when i tried the itunes logo and a pic of a USB cable have come up on my phone and now i cant do anything with my phone.Any ideas how i can fix this? Why can't I open and retrieve my files from iPhoto and my Address Book after importing the files from my Power Mac G5 to my new Mac Pro? I get a warning that says the new OS on my Pro doesn't open files from a Power Mac. Any idea how I can fix this?
For your addressbook, export the files to vCard on the PowerMac, then bring them over to your Mac Pro. For your iPhoto, copy the Users -> yourname -> Pictures folder to your Desktop on the Mac Pro, and open iPhoto on the Mac Pro holding the command and option keys. Select the library file from that Pictures folder and open it. It should import all the pictures into iPhoto as part of the rebuild process. The send buttin is greyed out when I try to text some but not all people from my iPod Touch. This happens even when they have iPhone 4s. Any ideas why and how I can fix this?
This issue can be caused by the McAfee SiteAdvisor extension.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

I have a lot of songs in my Itunes library. However, for some reason, they have disappeared and I only have one song left. When I check under My Music, I can see all the songs but can't access them through Itunes. Any idea why this happended and how I can fix it?
I think I fixed this problem a few years ago by literally copying and pasting all my audio content into the iTunes library folder. I can't remember what is called of the top of my head and I don't know if this will still work.

Thank you for your reply. Before I had seen your reply. I went into options and under general, all of a sudden it showed what should be there. I closed browser and did it again and it didn't show. It has been blank for roughly two months. Just seems funny that I ask a question and after all this time of not showing what it should, it does, to only be blank again.
I have also been trying to update the flash player. That comes up completely blank as well with nothing showing at all. I did this several times the day before I posted my question. That same day I also hit the reset button for firefox when I was having trouble trying to update the flash player.
I did as you said to do. Nothing has changed. Is there something else that I could try? -
my wife just boughtnher first apple an iphone4s she got it secondhand about last july , it came with ios7 which had not been released but today its stopped working and asking to be registered with a developers program, how can I restore her phone and hopefullykeep her current data. Well, you have your answer perhaps as to why the phone was being sold in the first place - rather than being a registered developer, the previous owner probably downloaded and installed an illegal copy of iOS 7 beta on the phone and it has now bricked the phone. Some people did this and of course they could not wait to get their hands on iOS 7, but now it has been released officially, everybody moans.
The only thing you can do is try resetting the phone again. Connect it to iTunes and install iOS 7.0.2 and restore it as new and see if that works. This might help the phone but will not preserve data.
If it still won't work, then I suggest that you confront the previous owner of the phone and return it for a full refund and start again, but this time buy the phone from a legitimate source. -
It's been going on recently and even though I've tried to do an Software Update and click "sleep" before closing the lid, nothing seems to work...
Has anyone else had this problem and would have recommendations on how to fix it?

What you did was sync it to a computer. The iPhone can sync to ONLY one iTunes library at a time. you can't put media on it from multiple computers. It's been this way since 6/29/2007.

Yes it sounds like you have a corrupted preference file.
The setting you make in individual programs get saved to a Preference file in your Users/Library/Preferences folder.
All you have to do is drag out the old file to the desktop, reboot and load the program and the preference file gets rebuilt without your preferences which you reset.
For your case I beleive the preference file is

I imported about 300 RAW images yesterday and worked with them for about an hour. iPhoto locked up on me and I rebooted. After I did the event icon for that event is now gray and it says there are no photos. I know the photos are there. Any idea how I can recover them?
a best practice to is to never have any computer program (including iPhoto) delete the photos from the card but to import the photos and keep them and then after at least one successful backup cycle has completed and then reformat the card -- I use three very large (32 GB) cards in rotation so I do not reformat for typically a year or more giving me one more long term backup of my photos
Back up your iPhoto library, Depress and hold the option (alt) and command keys and launch iPhoto - rebuild your iPhoto library database
