I think the clock no longer works.
If you set the time and date to somewhere around 2001, or 2005...it will probably keep the setting just fine. But around 2010, it stopped working.
Not broken, that is just the way it was made......many years ago!

I have 2 gmail accounts on my iphone 5 with IOS 7 - a private and a business account. Both are set up exactly the same way, just the username and the password are different. One account synchronizes as usual via mail app, the other account seems to do the same thing as well but after synchrinizing this account is highlighted grey for a while. When I go to "all mails" I see tons of mails dated 01.01.1970 with no sender or content. After a few minutes I can use the account in a normal way again and all the " no sender " mails vanished. How can I fix the problem?
Thank you in advance for helping!For me the same problem: 2 gmail accounts, one ore both have often the folder greyed out. After a reset by holding down both buttons it works for a few minutes then the problem is there again.
Also the same problem with the no subject 01.01.1970 emails (this was also there in previos IOS and never been solved!).
I have a 4S with IOS7.
For now my only solution is to switch to Mailbox.

My iPad keeps locking itself every few seconds, any ideas how to fix it... Drives me crazy as the screen keeps going blank and I have to constantly put in my pass code every few seconds. Can someone help me out please. The pass code lock is set at 10 minutes but it's happening every few seconds :(
I've run into the issue and it seems to be related to an app not fully supporting the iOS you're on, the reboot doesn't usually solve it.
I've solved it in the following manner(s):
1) Backup the device to iCloud, then erase the iPad (Content and Network Settings).
2) Setup the iPad and choose to restore from iTunes/iCloud Backup (wherever you backed it up)
3) Perform any software updates
I have not tried simply performing the software updates (which may fix it, but if it doesn't you won't be able to perform the above steps).

My Iphone and Ipad will not pick up my new email messages..for the last few days...I have tried deleteling the account (a number of times..) and setting the account back up? and it still only picks up the old messages? Anyone else having tis problem? Any ideas how to fix it?

In my email all the messages from one person bunch together and I would like to separate them. I have done this before on my iPhone but just recently got an iPad and its doing it on this, so does anyone have any ideas how to fix this issue?
Settings >> Mail, Contacts. Calendars >> Organise by Thread. Switch to OFF to see every individual email in the Inbox.

I recommend starting with a soft reset (pressing both home and power button until you see the apple then let go of the buttons) once you back on the home screen if you iPad still doing the same thing you may want to try a back up and restore

Yes. On your phone make sure it is set to send messages from your phone number, not your apple id or other email address. That way when they reply it will go to your phone.

Yesterday, I pluged my Ipad to my computer, it showed a window for Ipad udpates I cliked Yes then it was an error, now the Ipad is frozen, it show only the picture of the wire to connect with Itunes, I did it but now Itunes doesn't recongnize my Ipad. Restart your computer to un-freeze iTunes there.
Restart your iPad by holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons together for 10 seconds.
Plug in again, and restore to last backup if necessary. -

The more I use my Macbook Pro lately, the more it freezes. I check the control panal immediately after it freezes and I notice a spike in "date written" under the "disk activity" catagory. Any ideas what is causing this and how to fix it?
Open Disk utility and run Repair Disk in First Aid.

Ios7 software update failed on ipad, any ideas how to fix?
I am unable to update my ipad - when I click 'download and install' i get the user agreement which I accept, I then get a message that says "Software Update Failed - An error occured downloading ios 7.1" I had the same issue for ios 7.06. I have tried hard resetting, disconnecting wifi etc.

Any ideas?Are you trying to update via wifi, or connected to your computer?
If wifi, locate your iPad very close to your router so it doesn't drop wifi, or connect to your computer and update.

It happened, probably, because you did an inadvertent triple-swipe while your Settings (see previous post in this thread) were set to react to that and do things .... including what you've seen. Luckily, the fix is quick and direct.
