Hi! My Ipad dosn't start anymore? It just turnes itself on and off? I have had some problems while I'm useing it too, it shuts down.. but now it dosen't start anymore? I tryed to connect it to a computer, I can still reach all my files. I don't know the operating system, but it's Ipad 2; 64GB

I have a iPad Air that has the latest software, everything is up to date. It was purchased in December. Past few weeks it will shut on and off on it's own. I've reset it a few times, did everything that is recommended. The black apple screen comes up as it's being powered on even if I did not hit the power button. Is there a certain reason it's doing this? What are my options to fix this?

It sounds like your iPad is going to slee and turning on without you pressing the buttons. I would use this process to reset the phone first, if this is not the reset you mentioned:
To reset, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

Ipad turning on and off by itself

recently i have been noticing that my ipad turns on and off by itself.
when it turns on. and when i am on the lock screen, it doesnt let me to unlock my ipad mini.
i cannot even access the settings. when the lock screen appears, it seems frozen and it wont let me unlock!
please help!!!!

Perform a "hard reset" on the device by pressing down and holding the home button and the sleep/wake button for up to 30secs. until you see a black screen with the Apple logo, then release.
Then test to see if it solved the problem.

IPad switches on and off after iOS update cannot backup no previous backups

I would really appreciate some advice on this problem.
My parents updated their iPad, and apparently it got stuck for hours, after which they switched the iPad off.
From then on, the iPad keeps turning itself on and off, mostly showing the Apple logo, and sometimes the 'apps screen', but only lasting for at most 2 minutes before switching itself off again.
The unfortunate thing is there is no backup on iTunes. I tried connecting the iPad to iTunes, and backing up, which happens for some time, but then got the following errors:
1. iTunes cannot back up because backup is corrupt (checked other threads - there are actually no backups on the computer to be deleted);
or
2. iPad shuts down, causing the backup to stop. iPad turns back on itself, and backup restarts, but shuts down again after some time.
I understand we can potentially restore the iPad to factory settings, but that means losing all the data on the iPad. Would like to know if anyone has ideas how to fix this issue, or at least save a backup?

I don't think this will work because from everything that you have stated, I believe that the iOS is corrupt and will need to be restored but did you reboot the iPad? You just never know....
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
You can't backup the device unless it is operational. It just will not work.

Computer shuts on and off some corrupted files - no virues now

Listed below are some of the errors I found on event log in the laptop:
I have a Qosimo 8 megs of memory, windows 7 64 bit. Running AVAST 7.0 antivirus and Malwarebytes - both paid subscriptions. I think the model number is 830 530 I bought in 2009.
The shutdown problem has
been happening on and off for the last six months. I had two major instances of trojans taking over my machine and it caused constant shutdowns. AVAST worked with me on one and they had me use malwarebytes and spybot and hijack this. They took over my computer to get it up and running properly, but this new round of errors a trojan was found in the registry key and the startuptoolbar. Two nights ago I had another shut down several times and after running malwarebytes and antivirus I could find no errors so I’m leaning toward corrupted files? Is there anyway to fix these files without having to reformat the hard drive?
I did run a computer repair and a computer memory repair tonight using F8 and no problems were found by the computer. I’m not sure what to do with these errors in event viewer.. I get the toshiba error
quite often and it madely stops me from going online with my internet connection, and I had downloaded a newer version but same problem – I use windows repair in network and the error is always resetting the toshiba network IP. I just put a note into toshiba on that problem.
I also use microsoft silverlight for my fenderfuse application which needs that software operate properly. I’m not sure exactly what to do with that Custom dynamic link libraries are being loaded for every application. It states to check libraries – but what am I checking for? I do not have a lot of programs on the laptop but not sure what to look for in library?

Sometimes my computer shuts down often on its own and I find a Trojan - other times it shuts down often during a start up and I find no viruses as was the case yesterday. Today I did not get on the internet and the computer worked fine.
I guess I need to know if there is a way to reinstall the corrupted files without having to go back to the default settings when I got the computer. Does toshiba have a windows repair disc that works better then what I did with using F8 and having a system repair and memory check done that found no errors? I also installed the latest Toshiba service station and it did not fix the error problems in events log. When I did a restore it was before this was added so now my computer is working properly with windows on connecting to the internet wireless.
Malwarebytes said that by looking at these event viewer logs that it does not appear that I have a virus now but I do have corrupted files and can toshiba help me in getting them fixed. I really hate to do a complete reformat.

I noticed that software protection stopped and then it showed software protection working. I did not get any critical stop errors like I did before but that is because I don’t have any Trojans or viruses. I ran a full scan with both Avast and Malwarebytes yesterday and no problems.

I don't know how serious this probems are - I didn't like seeing the software security being stopped. But then it started up. I have copied everything personal on this laptop so I am ready to reformat if needed.
I still have the problem about IE not opening links unless I right button click to open it. I also had to make a separate ID to run Fender Fuse software as this computer was not recognizing the USB slot where I connect the amp to the laptop. Fender had me set up another id with minimum items and then I was able to connect to the amp and make changes.

IPhone 4 shutting on and off randomly and says restore necessary?

So I was on my phone using Safari when all of a sudden it shuts off and will not respond, I tried the awake+menu and alas to no avail so I plugged it in to my wall charger and it powers on saying that it's at 100% and that it's Wednesday December31 at 7:01 then says a restore is necessary and is now randomly shutting off and on. In addition the time is changing within a few minutes of what it was before every time it comes back on. It also says cannot make or receive calls and that a restore from iTunes is necessary and it says apple.com/support. But I am not with my computer and will not be so for another couple days. Is there anyway I can do this from my phone it will not allow me to access Wi-Fi or 3G the signal bar says Searching... Lastly, when disconnected from the cord it will cut off and not respond. Sorry this was long, and somewhat crazy, but any help will be much appreciated!!

Update: in one of the rare moments it was on I turned it off and let it sit for ~1 min and now it seems to be fine I regards to powering on and off and the time/date and battery charge yet the signal is still searching and it won't stay on unless connected to power source

My Ipad turns on adn off like crazy. As soon as it is time to put in the password it goes blank and starts over, I can not stop it (until the battery dies) nor can I bring it to factory settings or anything.
Can anyone tell me what to do besides go to the store, got no time, need to find the guarentee, bought it in a different country.
btw I do not know what OS is on the Ipad mini.

March 2013 crash but now I can't open my calender at all,despite switching my iPad 2 on and off. HELP!

As many of you have found March 2013 keeps crashing, but now after trying to view March 2013 in month mode I can no longer open up my Calender at all! It's just a blank screen. Help please!
I've tried switching it on and off and changing the settings but no joy. I'm really stuck without my Calender.

My external hard drive is properly formatted for Aperture, so I am currently copying my Aperture library to it. That will take hours since it is copying 101 GB.

I understand that I need to clean some space on my internal hard drive and reformat the Aperture library to get back in operation.
You need to upgrade the Aperture library to be used with Aperture 3.5.1. That will happen automatically, when you first double click the copied lirary to open it in Aperture.
I'll also need to back up my external drive with a new external drive if I make space on my internal drive by removing some photos from there and store them on my current external drive.
What do you use for backup? If you are using TimeMachine it is better to have only the Time Machine backup on the Time Machine drive . In that case would I put the Aperture library and other data on a new drive and keep the old drive for backup.

IPad shutting down and starting up automatically.

My iPad3 shuts down and starts up again automatically. This can continue for more than an hour before I can use the device again. Sometimes I can use it for 3 to 4 days before I experience the problem again... I have had it booked in for repairs, but it was returned to me within two days with a comment that they reloaded the software and that they could not find any problem with it. Any suggestions as to what my next steps should be?

In my experience there shouldn't be any unnecessary wear and tear on your hard drive from shutting down your computer unless you are doing an EXTREME amount of startup/shutdown cycles.
The average user should not put enough strain on the drive to even be noticed from normal startup/shutdown cycles.

E2 is a LEMON Shuts on and off constantly

My Tungsteon E2 goes on and off until the battery runs dead. I don't understand it, I have reset it many times, let the battery run out and the thing doesn't work. What a joke. Now I have to pay to get support? its just shy of a year old, and I've told everyone at work NOT to buy this.

This is not normal behavior of an E2, but what you're describing sounds like a software problem that you may have caused.
Start all over again, and rename your /Backup folder in the Palm directory tree. To start over, you'll need to perform a Hard Reset.
To perform a Hard Reset: (Palm Knowledgebase article #887)
While pressing and holding the Power button down, tap and release the Reset button in back and continue to hold the Power button down. When the grey Palm logo appears, you can release the Power button.
You should now see the warning page in about 5 languages. Press the UP direction on the 5-way pad to complete the task. Your Palm will reset itself several times as it re-installs the original programs and erases all your previous data.
In short:
- hard reset
- locate backup folder under palm desktop folder tree
- rename to backup_old
- sync, select old id. This will bring back PIMs (Calendar, Contacts, Tasks and Memos) but no settings nor programs
- reinstall applications one by one AFTER making sure they are compatible with the target device.

FIX: IPad turns on and off in a loop during charging, boots to home screen and reboots

Ok, after having my ipad 2 3rd Generation for about a year, its bombed out on me,playing on it until battery drained. Didn’t think anything of it, plugged into charge thinking it would be charged by the morning. This didn’t happen.
It was stuck on the apple sign, booted to home screen and switched off again due to low battery. Continued on this loop for the whole day……
I searched the internet and it seemed all doom and gloom that I would need to by another one. Then I stumbled upon a forum where the advice so far has worked for me.
The reason why it gets stuck in a loop is because the IPad was not shut down manually, so therefore keeps trying to boot up soon as it has some battery power. Problem is, its gone beyond a point and now and there isn’t enough battery life to boot to main or home screen after apple logo.
The remedy is quiet simple, follow these steps to get the ipad to home screen to power it down so it has sufficient time to charge up and boot normally and get off the endless loop.
Plug into wall socket to get it charging.
Wait until the apple logo appears and wants to boot up.
QUICKLY hold down home button and reset/ sleep button at the same time until it reboots.
Release buttons now. should now power down and reboot
Repeat step 3 at least 30 to 40 times which is about 10 minutes in duration everytime you see the logo appear on the screen.
Now Let IPad boot up fully, should see home screen with about 2% battery life
QUICKLY hit the rest/ sleep button down for about 2 to 5 seconds.
Swipe the screen to when slider appears to switch off the ipad.
This will now power down the IPad which now will not reboot by itself so it can now charge without any interruption’s.
Allow battery to charge for a least an hour or two without trying to put it on.
Switch the IPad on
You should now have about 10 to 20% battery Life
Power it down again by holding the reset/ Sleep button down again and swipe the screen to power down, let it charge fully to 100% now which will take few hours
Enjoy your IPad again
Lesson learnt. When your battery power is low, dont wait for it drain completely, rather power the pad down manually and let it charge when there is only about 2 to 4% battery life left.
Hope this guide helps people with the same problem as I had. Took me about 2 days of research and searching until I found a solution that worked. Hopefully this will assist anyone going through the same pain, and possibly not have to buy another one which seems to be the case when people take the pad to an istore with the same issue.

I tried to restore using recovery mode it give error 4013, also tried the same with iMac with my friend again error.
Let me give little more details:
1. After iOS 8.2 upgrade, 2-3 days often 3-4 times a day it used to restart again and again then will get Home screen.
2. Also at times it happened, it boots again and again left the device as it is then it comes to Home screen.
3. Lastly it did the same behavior but it did not boot up, but keep booting again and again apple logo is shown then restart
4. Tried to get into recovery mode, windows PC error 4013, now in the recovery mode.
My Battery was in good condition, when it happened it was ~80% now may be very less did not charge until now.
I read somewhere in the forum keep re-starting manually again and again, someone said since it did not shutdown properly there is a problem, please help.
The device is 1.2 yrs old ONLY.
