My iPad stopped recieving iMessages

Hi,
My iPad 2 iOS 8 will not receive iMessages. It used to  get texts but then one day Messages logged out automatically. I logged back in but then none of my new messages that came through on my recently bought new macbook turned up on my iPad. But they are both joined on the same iCloud account. How do I get my iPad to receive and catch up on all of my messages?
Thanks in advance for people that contribute to this discussion.

Don't ask the same question multiple times. Go back to the thread you started earlier and read the response there.  my iphone 4 stopped sending imessages and can't receive replies from other iphones

  • How to stop recieving imessages

my friend has recently switched from an iphone which she had upgraded to IOS5 to an HTC . The phone number has been switched over to an new carrier and her sim card is in the new phone.
However as she is still recieving imessages from people like me who have them turned on, I didnt even realise it had sent as an imessage.I dont want to have to go into settings an turn off imessages every time just to send her an message.
How can she stop recieving these imessages?

    Hi.
So your iPhone is still in use ?
Try go to "General" - "Messages". Here, remove all entered information such as number and e-mail. Afterwards, turn off iMessage on the top of the screen.
    I hope this was helpful.

  • How do I stop recieving iMessages ?

So I had an iPhone .. But then I got another phone . After my contract was finished I got my # transfered to my new phone. Now I've been noticing that when I txt people from my new phone , if they have an iPhone , their response is messaged to my iPhone as a iMessage ( when connected to Wifi ) and I dont get the txt on my new phone .. Any thoughts ???

You could also go to settings / iMessage receive at and make sure you receive SMS only to the phone number

  • IPad 2 stopped receiving iMessages sent to my phone number

I have an iPad 2 and an iPhone 4S. When I got the iPad, I was able to sync it with my iPhone just fine. It was sending and receiving iMessages that were directed to my iPhone phone number, and the messages on the two devices were syncing perfectly, all the time.
Then about a week ago, my iPad stopped receiving iMessages that were sent to my iPhone. When I look at the iMessage settings on the iPad, my phone number is no longer listed under the "send and receive" area.
The only troubleshooting I have tried so far is turning iMessage off and then back on on the iPad, and rebooting it. That hasn't worked...any other suggestions?

I would sign out of iMessage on your iPad and make sure its signed back in with the same apple id that you are using on your iPhone, if still does not show on iPad try doing the same steps on the iPhone. Also this article should give you a few other steps in troubleshooting iMessage http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4268

  • Iphone 4 not recieving imessages

I have the Iphone 4 (not 4s) and My iphone randomly stopped recieving Imessages. I can recieve and send regular text messages but cant recieve imessages. My imessage is turned on in my settings and I've restarted my phone multiple times. I am also up to date with my phone updates. Any thoughts?

Correct, do you have a strong cellular data connection?
I have the same issue when I'm not on wifi and if my cellular data connections is weak/low my imessage will send as a SMS.
YOu can try doing a reset, no data loss.  Hold down the home/sleep button together until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for the phone to boot back up.
This is like rebooting a computer.  Then check if you can use imessage over cellular.

Ever since I updated my iPhone 4S and my iPad 2 to IOS 6 all my iMessages are coming to both my iPhone and my IPad. How do I stop the iMessages I send and receive on my phone from receiving on my iPad as well? I have tried going into my settings and making sure I'm only set up to receive iMessages to my cell number and not my email....but that didn't fix the problem.

Here the way to do it, for both, or for only one Go into your settings, Messages and turn on iMessage. It will then send messages that are iMessages to both your iPad and iPhone. You can also turn off this feature on the iPad if you do not want to receive messages on the iPad.

  • I just got my iPad and the iMessage was working and than all of a sudden it stopped and when I tired to log back in, it said I had a bad connection which I didn't. So it won't let me use my iMessage

I just got my iPad and the iMessage was working and than all of a sudden it stopped and when I tired to log back in, it said I had a bad connection which I didn't. So it won't let me use my iMessage

Check Settings>General>Date & Time>Set Automatically>On. Make sure that the time zone setting is also set correctly.
If that didn't solve the problem, restart your iPad and try again. If that fails, reset your iPad and try again.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • My iphone is broken, text from other phone go to ipad as an imessage. How do i stop this?

My iphone 4 is broken, cannot access anything on there at all.  I am currently using my sim in an old Samsung phone, whenever I text someone that has an iphone or they text me I do not receive the reply it go to my ipad as an iMessage.
I need to stop this as missing lots of messages!  How do I do this?
    Many thanks

To fix this requires puttting your sim in your iPhone 4 & turning iMessage off...which you say you can't do; logging into your Apple support profile online & removing your iPhone 4...that is if you setup a support profile. You can also go to Settings>Messages>Send/Receive, on your iPad, and remove your phone number.

  • My iPhone can't recieve iMessages

My phone can't recieve iMessages all of a sudden. I can still send iMessages with my phone and both my iPad and Mac can send and recieve iMessages. I've tried following the troubleshooting, but nothing works. What's going on?

I think you need to reset iMessage on your iPhone: tap Settings > Messages > swipe iMessage to ON. If it is ON, turn it OFF and then ON. Tap Send & Receive, ensure the Apple ID you're logged in is correct. And you should check your phone number and the email address of your Apple ID. After then, restart your iPhone.
If the above mentioned way doesn't work, I think you need to read If you have difficulty activating FaceTime or iMessage - Apple Support & Using FaceTime and iMessage behind a firewall - Apple Support

  • Can I stop my iMessages from going to more than one device

I have recently purchased an iPad and would like to know if I can stop my iMessages that I send off my iPad from going to my iPhone ... My iPad is set up to my email account and my iPhone to my phone number and I would like to use them separately so that my daughter can use the iPad to text and they won't keep coming to my phone.. Is this possible I have looked through many of the settings and have not been able to find anything... Any ideas?

If you want to turn them off, you need to go into Settings > Messages > iMessage = OFF.  If you want your daughter to use a different device, you will need to set up a 2nd Apple ID and use that account to log in on the other device.

  • IPhone and iPad discrepancy with iMessages

Recently I have been recieving some random iMessages on my iPad, but not my iPhone. This is really annoying as I do not check my iPad until much later and find I have missed messages. I can't work out why it is happening, but I need them on my phone too! I also couldn't reply to some of them from my ipad. I have all send/recieve iMessage options ticked on my phone (such as emails). Is it a problem with my phone or ipad? Or both? Please help!!
