My ipad switch/wake button is stuck

my ipad switch/wake button is stuck

You never stated which model iPod Nano you have.  If you are still under warranty or have Apple Care, give them a call - U.S. iPod and Mac technical support: 1-800-APL-CARE (1-800-275-2273)
Out of warranty, take the iPod Nano to an Apple store or an AASP.  Whichever is more convenient for you.

  • Sleep wake button is stuck - what to do

sleep wake button is stuck in a pressed down mode - how may I correct this? Help!

Schedule an appointment at your local Apple Store/Genius Bar and see if there is anything they can do to help.  I wouldn't risk trying to resolve it yourself at this point just yet.

I have An Ipod Touch 4g and My Sleep/Wake Button is stuck inside so i am unable to press it How can i fix this?

If not caused by accidental damage, the iPod Touch includes a one year warranty. If your iPod Touch remains under warranty, you can call AppleCare or make an appointment at an Apple store if there is one nearby. If the iPod Touch remains under warranty you open the iPod Touch youself or by a 3rd party, doing so will void the warranty. If you live near an Apple Store, make an appointment to see if the store can get the button unstuck. If not under warranty, there won't be any charge for this.

  • My sleep/wake button is stuck, out of warranty options?

Alright, my iPhone 4's sleep/wake button became stuck last Sunday, and hasn't popped out at. I have an appointment on Sunday with the Geniuses but since my phone is out warranty, I'm expecting my wallet to take a hit. Are there any options available in relation to repairing my phone instead of paying $200 for an out-of-warranty replacement?

you can always google to see if there's an iPhone repair shop near you and see what they charge.....

This happened one time before but a day later it was magically on again!

Sounds like it's time to bring your phone to Apple for evaluation

  • My iPad Sleep/Wake button not working after upgrading to IOS 4.2.1

Since I uploading the OS system onto my iPad 3G, the Sleep/Wake button is inoperate. When I click this button, my iPad will not turn on (I press the Home button to activate my iPad). When my iPad is on and I press the Sleep/Wake button nothing happens.
I restored my iPad on iTunes which did not solve the issue. I have search this forum for any solutions and I have reviewed the iPad User to see if I miss something when I activated the update OS on my iPad.
Any other iPad users experiencing this issu? All recommendations is greatly appreciated.

Sorry, but I can't tell from your writeup how it is that you're actually using those controls. Some basic points:
    A. Merely pressing the Sleep/Wake (SW) button doesn't turn the machine on if it's off. Instead, you press & hold it until the white Apple logo appears.
    B. If you press Home and the machine comes to life, then it was not off, powered down. It was sleeping, or idle.
    C. When on, pressing/clicking SW should put the iPad to sleep.
If you can't put it to sleep by pressing SW, and can't shut it down by pressing & holding SW until the red slider appears, then you have some sort of a fault involving that switch itself and you're probably looking at a hardware replacement. Follow instructions in your User's Guide to start that process.

  • My sleep / wake button is stuck down and requires a great deal of force to unlock / lock the my iphone 4. help?

The lock button is stuck dont and wont come back up. i can still lock the iphone 4 but it requires alot of force and i am afraid of breaking it. i have only had this phone for about 4 months and have had a case on it since day one. Someone please help!!

If there is Warranty or AppleCare make Genius reservation or set up Service and take or send to Apple for resolution. If no coverage, you can use virtual Lock Button. Tap Settings App > General > Assessibility > Assistive Touch > ON > tap new white screen button > Device > Lock Screen. This can even be used to turn OFF iPhone, by holding down on it. To turn iPhone ON, connect to power, charger or USB of computer.

  • The sleep/wake button is stuck

How do you unstick the button?

    Hello tgn1222,
The following article has a few things that you might try in order to get your sleep/wake button working again.
    iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting

Sleep/Wake button will not lock or unlock iPhone
To lock the phone, press the Sleep/Wake button. Note: By default, if you don't touch the screen for a minute, iPhone locks automatically.
To unlock iPhone, press the Home button or the Sleep/Wake button, then slide the slider.
If either of the above steps don't work, try turning iPhone off and then on again.
If the iPhone will not power off, reset it.
Try to lock or unlock the phone.
    Cheers,
    Allen

  • My iPads sleep/wake button no longer works.

It is only 3 months old and I use a magnetic lock instead of the button. I don't know if my warranty covers this issue. Also, occasionally the button glitches and it locks, unlocks, then asks to "slide to shutdown" all in one go. Please help!!!!!!!!

The warranty will cover that is the device is only three months old and if the defect was not caused by accidental damage - like you droppoing it. I'm not accussing you of anything, I am just explaining how the warranty works.
I would try resetting the device - even though you need the sleep button to perform the reset. See if that works and then see if it helps at all.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
I would also try the iPad without the cover for a while to see if the cover is playing games with the lock feature.

  • SLEEP/WAKE BUTTON STUCK

Does anyone have any experience of the sleep/wake button becoming stuck?  One minute it was fine, the next it is jammed and I can't switch the phone off.

Amazingly, the problem kinda just fixed itself. I left it alone, didn't use it for a good long while (couple months), and then it just started working right and not acting up at all. Hasn't done it for months and is working fine.
    Weird.

  • Sleep/wake switch thinks it's stuck but it isnt?

My new iPhone 3g behaves like the sleep/wake button is stuck down despite the button not being stuck down, the button physically clicks when pressed but only functions as desired intermittently, when 1st activated the slide to power off screen appears without the button being held, and when the phone goes into sleep mode the phone goes into a restart cycle. Often when the button is pressed nothing happens at all, and often when the home button is pressed as screen shot it taken as if the button was stuck down. (My camera roll is filling up with shots of the home screen!)
Oddly enough while the phone is charging the sleep/wake button behaves normally
    Things I've tried:
    Restore
    Update
    Clear all Setting
    Clear all files
    Does anyone have any offerings?
    Help would be greatly appreciated
    Thanks

I'm sorry to hear that this happened to you. You need to make an appointment and talk to a genius at your local Apple Store. Be sure to back up your phone first, as the genius will probabily replace it. They have replaced my iPhone at least 5 times.
    Good Luck,
