My iPad switches itself off when I'm on the Internet help

When I'm using my iPad on the net it switches itself off and I'm having to turn it back on again and out in my password I only want to use it properly

Hi Lisah,
It sounds like you may have some corrupted files in the operating system -- when built-in apps and features like Camera and Siri malfunction, corrupted files are often the culprit.  There are a few things you can do to fix this -- first thing I'd recommend would be to back up your device to make sure you have all of your current data and settings saved.  Back up and restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch using iCloud or iTunes - Apple Support
After backing up your data, try resetting all settings in Settings > General > Reset.  Try the camera and charger again to see if you still see the same strange behavior.  If so, there's likely a corrupted file in the iOS installation.  It's pretty easy to reinstall the operating system files to fix this -- you will need a computer with internet access.  Follow the steps in Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings - Apple Support to completely reinstall the iOS files and get a fresh, clean installation.
After using iTunes to restore the phone, go through the setup assistant on the phone and choose the option to Set up as a new iPhone.  Set it up as new and test the camera again -- if it works this time, that's a good sign!  After making sure it works properly, you can restore from the backup that created before doing all of the resets and restores.  This will bring your content and settings back to the phone.
Good luck!

just regular FireWire cable (6-6 pin) - when you use target mode, computer acts as if it was external hard drive and supposed to show up on another Mac's desktop as a drive - you could use Disk Utility on another Mac and format the PowerBoook.
if there is some hardware problem though, sometimes target mode won't work.
also, maybe try some other OS disc just in case your OS CD is defective somehow.

  • Ipad switching itself off and on

I am having trouble with my ipad switching itself on and off-although now, it seems, I can't even turn it on.

thanks Diavonex-yes, it is charged..tried to do a restore, but it appears that it hasn't worked.  Time will tell, but currently apple icon is showing on the device, and the bar below seems to be half way and at a standstill.  Guess it hasn't switched off as yet-which may be a good sign.

  • TS3274 IPad turns itself off when I'm viewing pages

Something new that I haven't seen before is a Debug Console and it will tell me I have messages. When I click on the messages there are HTML, JavaScript or CSS error messages. Is this something new? What is causing the errors. Would this explain why the iPad shuts itself down when I am viewing pages?

Without examples to try out here, there are some basic troubleshooting tips you should try.
    1. Restart the ipad. Hold the top button till you see the swipe to turn off, swipe to turn the iPad off and then restart.
    2. If a restart doesn't fix things, try a reboot by holding the top and home buttons simultaneously until you see the apple logo.
    3. Try a different wifi network. You may be having issues with your connection.
    4. Go to Settings -> Safari and clear the history and cookies and data. Also open the Advanced section and make sure Web Inspector is turned OFF.
    5. If these steps don't fix the issue, you may need to do a restore using a computer with iTunes installed.

  • Macbook Pro freezes when i'm on the internet, help!

When i'm on the internet, on facebook or youtube sometimes my mac takes forever to load or doesn't end up loading the webpage. When this happens I just restart my laptop. Is there something wrong with my mac? Is there anyway I could fix this problem myself? I just got my mac only 2 to 3 weeks ago so I'd hate to have to already exchange or repair my macbook pro laptop.

Before you embark on Carolyn's 'nuclear solution' just try my suggestion first. If your Mac then works:
Repairing permissions is important, and should always be carried out both before and after any software installation or update.
Go to Disk Utility (this is in your Utilities Folder in your Application folder) and click on the icon of your hard disk (not the one with all the numbers).
In First Aid, click on Repair Permissions.
This only takes a minute or two in Tiger, but longer in Leopard.

If you were having any serious problems with your Mac you might as well complete the exercise by repairing your hard disk as well. You cannot do this from the same start-up disk. Reboot from your install disk (holding down the C key). Once it opens, select your language, and then go to Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Select your hard disk as before and click Repair.
Once that is complete reboot again from your usual start-up disk.

  • IPad mini switches itself off during game

    Hi
Have recently bought a new iPad mini for my son.
He thinks its great and really enjoys it.
However whilst he is playing games such as angry bird etc etc the iPad switches itself off and returns to main menu !!!!
Is there a fault with the iPad or is there something I need to change in settings ???
Would greatly appreciate some help please

    hi there,
I started this original discussion and I have got to say that after upgrading it with the latest software available online, the problem has not occured as many times anymore. However, I still believe that the battery life of the nokia n95 is rubbish and I am seriously considering writing to Nokia to complain as the provider Vodafone is useless.
In the mean time, I have had another problem occuring which is that the screen freezes itself out of nowhere and you have got to switch the phone on and off to get it to operate again.
I am very disappointed with this phone bearing in mind that I was one of the first to have this phone and it went on sale for £500.

  • My iphone4 switches itself off and wont switch back on until its plugged into the mains

Hi there, can someone help me please!?
My iphone4 white had updated ios 4.3.3 and it randomly switches itself off, has anyone else had the same problem?
It just goes to black screen and I cant manually switch it back on, only when I connect it to the mains does it come back on.
What's also really strange is that once its reset from the mains it resets the date to 01/01/1970 and the time to 01:05?
Hopefully someone out there can help!? Mark

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Please try this sequence...note that, throughout the entire 4h15m process, your BB must remain directly connected to a known-good wall charger (not PC USB, not a cradle):
With the battery inside, connect your BB to the wall charger
Leave it alone for 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
    Remove the battery
    Wait 15 minutes
    Insert the battery
Wait another 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
This has been known to "kick start" some BBs.
It is also possible that your battery or BB has experienced a problem...to test, this sequence is needed:
Obtain an known good and already fully charged additional battery...use it in your BB and see what happens
Obtain access to a known good and identical BB...use your battery in it and see what happens
The results of this will indicate if it's your BB or your battery that has the problem. Note carefully please that "new" and "know good" are not necessarily the same things. While rare, a "new" battery certainly could be defective. Rather, the simplest (and least costly, btw) method to conduct this test is to find someone with an identical BB who has no issues...trade batteries and see what happens.
Good luck and let us know!

  • Nokia 2730c switching itself off on standby

Firstly, I've heard it everywhere - "contact your local help centre". Well I've also heard, everywhere, that the local help centres are filled with a bunch of useless **bleep** who can't do their job. So I'm trying to avoid that by any means!
With that said - my Nokia seems to be switching itself off when I leave it on stand-by.. but never when it's actually in use. Sometimes it'll happen in 5 minutes, other times it can take hours. I just recently purchased this phone and am in desperate need for a solution! Expecting a lot of calls.. you know how it is.
So.. ANYTHING that has the slightest bit of chance at working, I'd love to hear it and try it out! If there's seriously nothing I can do, I'll waste my time taking the phone to the help centre 3 times over so I can get a replacement..
    Thanks!

Looks like I heard correctly.. took the phone in to get fixed, and while it was getting fixed they gave me a loan phone to use in the meantime. And what do ya know the loan phone doesnt work. (yup it was a nokia) Get a call a week later saying the phone was fixed, I make they guy assure me - THREE TIMES - that the phone was working and that he tested it. He said all was good. So I pick the phone up, take it home, and find the problem within 5 minutes. he DID NOT test it. it WAS NOT fixed. I doubt it was even looked at!
Just a heads up to anyone who reads this - stay away from nokia.

  • Laptop keeps switching itself off

    Hello,
I was wondering if anyone out there could help me if they have experienced the same problem.
My laptop has recently started switching itself off, it's joined to the mains so i didn't think it would be the battery, yet when it switches itself off, it shows the orange low battery light, could it be the battery pack or is it something to do with the laptop itself?
    Thanks for any help!

    Hi Jo,
The usual cause of sudden power-offs is overheating. This is chacterised by the notebook just losing all power with little warning (other than the cooling fans running at full speed). This can be corrected fairly easily by just sucking any dust or debris out of the air intake grilles using a vacuum cleaner hose.
If the notebook powers down in a more controlled fashion then this could be a fault in the power supply electronics which causes the notebook to run on battery power even though the mains AC adapter is connected. In this case the problem may lie with the AC adapter itself, with the connecting cable, or with the socket on the back of the notebook.
    regards,

  • 6131 switches randomly off, when closed

My 6131 has the annoying habit to switch itself off, when I close the lid. Often I'm not aware of it and put the phone in my pocket, while awaiting a call or message - wich is obviously not coming in.
Is this due to at too sensible power button (is there a work around this) or is thi a software or hardware problem?

If it's at to sensible power button, auto keypad lock won't help, 'cause it takes a considerable amount of time, before it locks the keypad. so I have to lock it maually - and what use is the lid for then (thats one of the mail reasons for me to buy that phone), mi intention was to be able to close the phone and put it in my pocket, without having to do anything further.
The battery is fitting tight, I tryed to rock it, while the phone was switched on, and it stayed on, so no probs there.
Software is the newest (6.10), I had the same problem with the older version before I updated.
I considered gluing som kind of protection at the base or the side of the power switch, bit this has to be very well planned and designed (I dont want to destroy the good looks of my phone).
But thanks for your suggestions anyway!

  • ICloud drive keeps switching itself off on my iPad 2

I have a MBP and an iMac = both on Yosemite and both working with iCloud drive OK.
But I cannot get this to work on iPad 2 with IOS 8 - with either Pages or Keynote.  It keeps telling me to set up iCloud - which I do as per instructions - but it sends me round in the same circles!
This is driving me crazy and has wasted hours!  I have signed in and out of iCloud several times and enabled iCloud Drive.  Then also down to Pages app and checked on for 'use iCloud'  Somehow - this switches itself off again after a few seconds!  How does this happen?
Why does it not stay on????????
While it is 'on' - Every time I try to use the Pages app I cannot see my iCloud drive documents - and when I try and save it then tells me to set up iCloud!
This is useless to me if it will not work as advertised!

I suggest that you do a update or reinstall of the phone software via the Update Service program. www.sonyericsson.com/updateservice
Hopefully will that solve your problem.
If you get the option to update I suggest that you select to update and also factory reset the phone.
If you only get the option to reinstall you already have the latest version, this will automatically result in a master reset too.
