My IPAD touch will not turn on?
We have tried the 15 second holding down the power and home key but it does not start.
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I pod touch will not turn on and will now not charge - just died - did not drop or spill water on it - HELP. When I plug it into I-Tunes it says the IPOD is in recovery mode
Have you tried to restore the iPod via iTunes on the computer? See the restoring topic on:
iTunes: Backing up, updating, and restoring your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch software
If not successful, what happens when you try to restore the iPod? Any error messages? -
Ipod touch will not turn on unless plugged in
My Ipod touch will not turn on, Ive plugged it in and it comes on it has a charge but as soon as I unplug it it goes black ... I have tried to restart it but there is just a black screen
Try the following:
- A reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
If you still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order -

Try a Reset

Ipod touch will not turn on and is not reading in the usb port
ipod touch will not turn on or connect to my computer
I just had a similar problem and tried all of the reboot techniques with no success. I knew it had to be a connection issue inside the iPod, and grasping at straws, I sprayed a little WD-40. I dried it off and let it sit overnight. Today at lunch I plugged it in to my wall charger and it began charging.
***FYI I know they don't recommend spraying WD-40 on your iPod, but it was a last resort for me. I was at the point of paying to send it in for repairs or throwing it away. I wouldn't try this unless you are ready to throw yours away too. -
So one day is was laying next to my ipod touch and i tried to turn it on but it wouldnt. so then i pluged it up to my computer to charge but it didnt charge, the computer didnt pick up the divice. so now my ipod touch will not turn on, and i have no idea why. PLEASE HELP.
mine did the same thing. What I did was hold the home and power button down for 10 seconds but that did not work. I figured out that I just had to hold them down for a long time like 15 to 45 seconds. Then it finally turned on. You may have to do it a couple of time. But if this does not work send it in to the apple company they fixed mine completly free they even sent me a box to send it in. I hope my answer helps you fix it.

My home button stopped working and now iPad mini will not turn.
My home button stopped working a few weeks ago, and now my iPad mini will not turn on. I can't restart the iPad, and it will not pop up in iTunes. What can I do?
Make an appointment with the nearest apple store and they will be able to replace it or give you directions otherwise. Hope this helps

"Apple absolutely is head and shoulders above competition. Thanx Apple, Steve Jobs you are the best! Love, KJK "
That's some serious Kool-Aide there... oh, and BTW, not trying to troll here, but you probably would want to know that SJ died months ago.
Anyway, having same problem with an iPod Touch 3rd Generation 8GB. Although this device is a 1 or 2 years old, it was only used (touched?? lol) a few times, so practically in 'new' shape, but obviously with a dead battery.
Charged overnight
Does not respond to holding power for 10 seconds, or 30 seconds.
Does not respond to holding power AND home for 10 seconds or 30 seconds.
Tried other combinations I've read in these forums such as holding power and home and then releasing the power button
Does nothing when plugging via USB to a PC (tried different PC's) with iTunes along with any of the above combinations of holding buttons. [Device does nothing, nothing shows up in iTunes, no recognition at all from PC, etc.]
I am assuming you mean January 29, 2012 (based on the time of your posting) and not 2011, which if you say you had your device "over 18 months", then I'll see if I, too, will get a replacement device, and "IF" I do, then maybe I'll drink a little of your Kool-Aide, but otherwise I'm quite disapointed that this device is so fragile. -
When charged up I touch will not turn off with on off button
When charged up my I touch will not turn off using the on/off button, can use the home button but I touch stays on & drains the battery.
To turn the the iPod off you have to press and hold the On/Off button until the power off slider appears (about 5 seconds). Are you doing that?

2nd Generation iPod touch will not turn on
My 2nd Generation iPod touch will not turn on. I have held the lock button down for up to 30 seconds and it remains a black screen. When I put it on the charger, the screen usually shows the battery amount, but it will not do that either. I checked the battery about 10 minutes before it began this, and it was about 75% charged. There is no way it could be dead. It will not even show the apple, as if it were powering on.
- Connect the iPod to your computer. If iTunes sees the iPod restore the iPod.
- Next see if resetting the iPod will make the iPod visible so you can restore the iPod.
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Next see if recoverymode will make the iPod visible. For recovery mode see:

I was in the middle of the new update and it said there was a error and now my ipod touch will not turn on or off or anything it is just a picture of the apple.
thank you
KristyError 11 is a strange one...if you search the discussions for error 11 you will get a number of hits but none with a real resolution other than getting the iPod to restore, which you have done. And one person indicates this does not appear in the support data base...already found that out.
If you have restored, have a backup and can restore from that, you might try the update again, or wait for the next update whenever that comes out.
Not a very satisfactory answer but if it is working again... -
