  • I have just updated my iPhone 4 with latest IOS 7 and now wi fi greyed out and Bluetooth not working. Tried reset, restore everything - no use. Its out of warranty too. I refuse to pay for a new phone when clearly this is an apple issue not phone issue.

Can anyone help? I updated my iPhone 4 with latest iOS 7 and now wi fi is greyed out, Bluetooth won't work and tbh am so angry! Phone now out of warranty so apple won't help without it costing me. Don't want to pay as its an apple problem not phone problem. It worked ok before. Tried everything, even clearing it down. Can't even back it up now unless I connect to a pc!

I have not had wifi since November when I upgraded to the newest IOS version.  I called the Apple help line and they told me some things to do and I tried them all and they worked for a few hours and then wifi shut off again.  I kept doing what they told me and it worked for a couple more days and then I could never turn it on again.  My blue tooth doesn't work either.  I had to actually increase my data usage with AT&T becuase of this.  When I did that in December I went to the Apple store and was told that it is a hardware issue and since my phone is out of warranty I would have to pay for a new phone because they could not fix the issue.  My upgrade isn't up until June 2014 so not only do I have to wait for the upgrade and I am not paying for a new phone but I have to pay $10 plus extra a month on my cell phone bill because I was going over on my Data!!!  I have been beyond upset about this and Apple is not doing anything about this nor did they offer up some way to resolve the issue because obviously it is not just some rare incident if several people are having this issue.  Who knows how many people out there have had this issue and have not said anything about it.  Now there is a newer update that I can't do because it requires wifi in order to download.
June can not get here fast enough and I may not go back to Iphone after dealing with this for so long with no help from Apple.

  • Macbook pro wifi symbol greyed out and will not recognize networks

My Macbook Pro has had an issue since this past fall of having its wifi symbol greyed out with an "X". It also does not recognize wifi networks as in simply no networks show up. Talked to Apple last week and they said to upgrade to Yosemite, but I am still having this issue. Help?

Have you used DVDs that have different region codes?  It may be that your DVD drive is locked for a region code different from what Netflix is programmed for.
    Ciao.

  • Can i backgrade my iphone 4s from ios6.0.1 to ios6? - Wifi is greyed out and will not switch on, tried factory reset but keeps restoring to ios6.0.1, please release ios6.0.2 ASAP apple!

So yeah I recently upgraded to iOS 6 fine no problems, a few bugs here and there regarding txt shortcuts not working when imessages switches back to sms when loosing 3g but nothing major.
Then a few weeks ago I updated to iOS 6.0.1 as I thought maybe a few bugs would be fixed.  I backed up my phone (for the first time with iTunes).  Then after the 6.0.1 update I had (as it seems a lot people have had) a problem with the wifi not switching on and being dimmed out.  I tried various "reset the phone" "reset the network settings" options that people have put on these support forums.  So my last option was to reset the phone to factory settings- I did this two times, firstly reseting it to factory settings and restoring it to the back up, then reseting to factory settings and setting the phone up as new.  After doing this second reset my phone did not go back to iOS 5 (which is factory settings) but iOS 6.0.1 and I still have the same Wifi problem.
Apple- please release 6.0.2 ASAP, this bug is costing me ton of 3g data as I use my iPhone regularly for work and use it at home all the time.
Is there anyway I can back grade to ios5 or ios6?
    PLEASE HELP!!
    thanks
    Martyn

  • My wifi is greyed out and won't work?

My wifi has just stopped working and is on the 'off' position and won't let me change it.... After turning my phone off a few times it started working but now it's decided to not work at all... I've reset my network settings etc but still no joy, any ideas??

Try the suggestions here to see if they resolve your problem:

If these don't work you may have a hardware problem. Visit an Apple store for an evaluation or contact Apple Support.

  • Missing a few songs off of every album on my iphone 5. The songs info still displays but is greyed out and will not play. after selecting it on my phone it will then sync in itunes.

I could go through all the albums on my phone and tap each song then re-sync but that would take forever. is there an easy solution to this. It happened after i updated Itunes to 11.1.1. All the music info is there on my iphone 5 but the music is gone. after I try to play it it turns grey and a square with a circle surrounding it appears next to the song title. When I next sync my phone that song or songs I tried to play will finally sync with my phone. How do I fix this?

    Hello Philly,
I believe that when you reset your ipod(command given from the computer, right?)  touch WHILE the ipod was updating, It cleared the system in the middle of writing files, thus corrupting(equivalent of cutting of in the middle of a sentence) the basic running system.
I suggest you go to an apple store and ask for a technical diagonosis in person. they may offer to help if the problem is fixable. If your ipod is still under warrenty, i would guess it would be free/low cost.

  • The majority of music on my ipad is greyed out and will not play.   .

The majority of music is greyed out and will not play. None of it is downloaded. It is all from CDs. I only have the one account. Please help.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and resync
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • Installed iOS7 update and now wifi and Bluetooth not working

My daughters 4s has never skipped a beat - perfectly reliable. Just updated iOS7 with update and now both wifi and Bluetooth not working. Wifi is greyed out and when you go into bluetooth the busy twirly symbol is constantly going round. Can someone please help me as I'm pulling my hair out! My other Daughters iphone 4s is fins BUT she has not downloaded latest update - and she won't until this is resolved. If needs be I will take to store and DEMAND for it to be sorted out - either by repair or replacement as it is wholly a seemingly software issue and nothing wrong with the phone.
Gutted really as I am a huge Apple fan and customer with ipods, phones, iMac & iPads all around. If this is not resolved I fear an Apple drought may begin!

..... ty for the link, however this is the first result googling the issue..... of course it did not work....
it is really unbelivable that plenty 4s devices suffered the wifi troubleshooting just after upgrading to ios7, and finally.... i should burn wifi and bluthoot, and another hardware problems should cause % battery value is disappeared....
    all this in one shot....
firmaware is not well working or is somebody bombing our devices to force us to switch to newest?

  • TS1559 my wi-fi is greyed Out , and no solutions works !

My wi-fi is Greyed Out , no solution works !

like most others, i've tried every suggested restart, reset, restore - with only temporary success.  the issues always come back and it's either the wifi or bluetooth and most times both that stop working (wifi greyed out and bluetooth constantly searching).
i took my 4s into the apple store today and they tried the same steps.  i asked if there was any way to go back to a prior version of ios (to when the wifi and bluetooth were actually working), and he said there was not. he also said that it could be a hardware issue.
he said there were two options - full restore and dfu rewrite which could be a 'free' fix, or i have to pay $199 for a repair/replacement.  i went with the restore / dfu rewrite as i'm in no mood to pay for an issue that apple likely caused with the 6.1 update.  he brought out my phone and it appeared fine, with both wifi and bluetooth working in the store. however, by the time i got home the wifi was no longer working and the bluetooth was acting up (disconnecting and reconnecting).
of course, my phone is two months out of warranty - a $799 piece of hardware that has only lasted 14 months before a hardware failure?  it doesn't take an engineer to realize that something caused this issue and now they want me to pay $199 more for a replacement after bricking my wifi/bluetooth with their update?
i'm usually a very patient person, but this is absolutely frustrating. i've applied an apple update and now the wifi/bluetooth are not functional.  with so many of these issues (see the 200,000+ views in the forums), apple knows they have a problem and are not being very forthcoming with it.  as a loyal apple customer (typing on my macbook pro) this will definitely have an effect on my future product purchases.

  • After ios 5 the ipod that changed to music shows all my songs but they are greyed out and will not play

after ios 5 the ipod that changed to music shows all my songs but they are greyed out and will not play

did uncheck all music and resynced afterwards. Got all my music back on the phone. Next morning, the phone had greyed out 1/3 of the songs all by itself. Seems to have something to do with syncing over wifi. No solution yet other than resyncing all my playlists one by one,
Combined with a battery that drained 5% every 5 minute before I reset the network settings, I am not impressed with Apple's premature launch of their new os. This is what beta testing is for, folks. The iPhone should be done with the growing pains. Shame.

  • The wi-Fi button on my IPhone 4S is greyed out and will not turn on and therefore I am not able to receive wi-fi.  How can I fix this problem?

The wi-Fi button on my IPhone 4S is greyed out and will not turn on and therefore I am not able to receive wi-fi.  How can I fix this problem?

Follow the steps in the article below to try and resolve the issue:
iOS: Wi-Fi settings grayed out or dim
If after all the steps the issue remains I'd suggest to book an appointment at an Apple Retail Store to have your iPhone evaluated or contact AppleCare for assistance.
    Hope this helps

  • My password lock cannot be turned off (button is greyed out and does not react) and I cannot set to "simple" password (4 digits) for the same reason (button greyed out)

Today, I got a message from my iphone 4 telling me that my password was expired and that I had to change it.
Now I am forced to enter a 8 character long password and I cannot turn off the password lock (button is greyed out and does not react) and I cannot change to "simple" code.
I am so upset that I am considering throwing the bloody thing to the rubbish bin
    Can you help?
