My iPad will not play netflix but my husbands iMac air will

I have updated my iPad, discussed with Netflix, but when I try to open a movie, it just continues to load and if I does load, stops playing movie , starts again or audio continues but movie freezes... I open netflix on my husbands Mac air and loads up just fine, I also updated the netflix app

Have you tried rebooting your router?
Unplug it from power for about 30 seconds and then plug it back in. See if that helps.

    You have to force iPad into Recovery Mode
    1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
    2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
    3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
    4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button.
    5. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
    Note: You need to be patient and repeat the above many times to recover your iPad. Data will be lost.

    Certainly you can use your iPad, start iTunes, sign-in to iTunes Store and turn-on iTunes Match.  Provided you use the same Apple Id as the library that you initially enabled iTunes Match on you will see all the Songs available.  These can then be played.

    The GB size of the download file is the compressed size (like .zip or .dmg). When the file is installed/uncompressed it can be 2-3 times larger.
    How much space is used by your Other? You may be able to reduce.

    Blame Netflix. They are the ones using DRM that wasn't compatible with Macs, even though, of course Mac compatible DRM solutions are available.

    I don't know what AppleTV can handle as far as bit rate is concerned, but increase the bit rate as high as it will let you. You are taking DV which is 25Mb/s and compressing it. If you're making an H.264, you should get great results needing no more than 6Mb/s. Bear in mind, the higher the bit rate, the larger the file size.

    Any reason why the imac is not playing DVDs  (movies) . I have older DVDS that will play but anything recent that I borrow from my local library it spits it out.

    As I said, I am not 100% sure, but it could be - if you have a little DVD player, see if that same DVD plays there. I also noticed another way they protect themselves: I use Roxio Toast to burn my homemade movies; the other day I wanted another copy of one and set it up to copy/burn a second copy from a previously burned DVD. As it was reading the DVD, a popup showed with something like "legal content" and "click to copy" - so even the burn software has something built in to check if there is copyright protection or not.

    I have the same issue. I tried to sync again, but this does not work either anymore. All this worked until a short while ago. I tried manual management of music. But the music that shows up in the music app on the ipad (from previous sync, does not show in the music menu in itunes when the ipod is connected. When I manually move music to the ipad music menu in itunes it shows up with the open dashed circles. But this is not the same as what shows up in the ipad music app. I am confused.

    I loaded Remote for iPad to my iPad2 and it found my music library through home sharing no problem. However, when I hit play to listen to the music on my ipad the ipad volume is silent (it shows the music time advancing) but the music is playing full volume on my imac instead. WTH? Anyone else encounter this and know how to make a quick fix so I can listen to the music on ipad? I have successfully loaded home sharing to my mac air and listen to music on that computer no problem (without it playing on my imac).

    Well that's a rather useless app.
    Then don't use it.
    Why would I need to access my desktop PC from my iPad if we are all in the same room together? Wouldn't I just click "Play" from the desktop?
    Why get up and press Play when you have a remote in your hand?
    What if your desktop is in the office and you want to play music on your stereo in the family room?
    Or what if you have outdoor speakers and want to access your entire library while barbecuing?

  • Music on iPhone not playing. But screen indicates it is. Why?

    I've been listening to music on my iPhone while sitting and working and while in the car. After a few songs, the audio stops, but the screen indicates the music is still playing.
    While having the iPhone just playing music next to me, I noticed the play icon is showing next to the battery indicator, but the timeline of the song isn't changing.
    When the iPhone's connected to the USB connector to my car stereo, the phone's screen also indicates it's playing and the car stereo levels are moving to indicate something's being played. But even if I crank my stereo to the max, I can't hear anything.
    At first I thought it was the USB connection. But I once disconnected the iPhone from the stereo, paused the music (since it supposedly was playing), hit play again and no audio came out of the phone. No music played at all until I restarted it. And now that's happening without the car stereo connection. I pause and play and no audio.
    Anybody else having this trouble?  Anyone find a solution?

  • HT4527 why does my iPad library not fully sync with  my new iMac? Fed up of trying to get all my tunes onto my new computer.

    bought new imac computer and have an ipad and an old itouch. I cannot seem to get my ipad library to fully sync to the new imac. Only the purchased items go across. I have tried to look this up but i have over 1800 tunes yet only 496 are showing up on my imac now. probably being really dense but it is bugging me.
    Any ideas where i can go to look to resolve. ? Thanks very much Bridget

    It does mention VLC, but only if you copy it first which, according to the ToU of these forums, we are not allowed to discuss here as it circumvents copyright protection. In any case, you'd still need a BR player.

    Today, for the first time, the iPad refused to charge (Not charging message).
    What's worng?
