My ipad will not send emails
i cannot send emails on my apple ipad
It would be helpful if you could provide a little more information. What happens when you try to send an email? Do you get any error messages? Have you triple checked all information entered in your Mail account on your iPad?

When you say seem correct, have you checked in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Account name > Outgoing Mail Server, SMTP and the outgoing server name is correct, then > Primary Server name is correct > Host Name, User Name, redo the Password, Use SSL is OFF or ON according to your provider, may just try it both ways, Server Port, often 25 is the best to use. -

smtp require some ports to be open out to the Internet if wifi router or isp carrier block those then you can't send mails -

If you are getting any error messages - it would be helpful to know what they are. Have you checked all of the settings for the email account?
Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Your email account>Account>Outgoing mail server - tap the server name next to SMTP and check in the primary server and make sure your username and password are entered and correct - even if it says that the password is optional. -

I had this problem
I hit the power button and the round button at the same time and held it until it rebooted
You get the black screen and the apple logo
When that was done I want to the app and update screen and I was able to update my apps
I suggest when you update stay on that screen until they all update
I find it sometimes get stuck updating when I leave the screen as they are updating and do other things, but I could be wrong. It just seems to me that is when it happens.
The reboot works and don't worry you don't lose anything when u reboot it's like shutting down a computer and powering it back up. Everything you had before will still be there. -
Have a new IPad with IOS6. Will not send emails. Addresses are valid but get notice each time that "recipient was rejected by the server." Apple has apparently neglected to put out a manual with IOS6 and the previous manual has no indication of what to do. Really miss Steve Jobs.
Try going into Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > select the account > account name , tap on SMTP (under the 'Outgoing Mail Server' heading) and then tap on your Primary Server and try entering your email account and password and see if it then works

Delete the affected email account from your device.

TS5185 My IPAD will not send messages to non APPLE users.
Today, Christmas Day, while trying to send a message my IPAD wanted me to turn on iMessage. There was no option not to do this. After it was turned on I could no longer send messages to non Apple users. After reading online that I could set send SMS on my IPHONE I did. Now I guess it send everything as an SMS message. Now my IPAD will not send messages to non Apple users. I guess Apple wants us to pick our friends only if the use Apple products. This is about as stupid as it gets. They want us to only communicate with Apple users. The only other option is to turn the feature off. Why have iMessage in the first place.
So my situation is I can send SMS Messages on my IPHONE. I cannot send any messages to non Apple users on my IPAD and iMessages to my Apple users.
This kind of stupidity is why I switched from Windows to Apple in the first place. Don't they test anything out anymore at Apple?Please don't take this the wrong way, but I think that you might be doing something wrong.

Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Or ... Quit the mail app completely and relaunch mai. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Launch the mail app. -
IPad will not send new Calendar events to MobileMe
My iPad will not send new or edited changes to MobileMe.
I have turned off syncing through iTunes to prevent multiple listings of the same event. When I add or change an event on my computer it is changed on my iPad thru MobileMe without any problems, but when I change or add an event on my iPad it is not sent back to MobileMe or to my computer.

Is your iPad updated to IOS 4.2, or later?
You may have to turn Calendars off/then back on. Apple - MobileMe - Set Up MobileMe
Make sure that you do not choose to remove any calendars from your iPad when turning it off. When turning it back on be sure to choose "Merge with MobileMe" to ensure that you do not lose any calendar data which has been already entered on you iPad. -
All of a sudden, my iphone will not send email to AOL. It says user name [email protected] is incorrect. I have rebooted, reinstalled and changed password that works fine on aol, still receives mail but will not send.
It looks like your SMTP server setting for AOL is wrong. I think it should be smtp.aol.com.
