My iPad will not update apps.  I did try all previous suggestions.

My iPad will not update apps.  I did try all the suggestions.  When I click on the rapidly growing number of updates, the screen stays blank.  Nothing is being downloaded.  I have worn out the re-boot function.

This is a problem that many users are experiencing now. Apple is working on a fix.
According to Fly150 in another discussion, this will work.
If you want to update the Apps while waiting for Apple to fix Updates:
1. Go to App Store
2. Select Purchased
3. Select All
4. Scroll down to find the Apps showing update
5. Select update on the Apps
This should update the Apps and get rid of the update count in App Store. Apple needs to fix this, because you cant fix it. It is a workaround only.
you can update your apps in iTunes on your computer and sync the, to the iPad as well.

    Try a reset:
    1. Hold the Sleep and Home button down (together) for about 10 seconds
    2. Until you see the Apple logo (very important)

  • My Ipod Touch iOs5 will not update apps, I did reset and still not work

My Ipod Touch will not update apps.  The apps that need updates are frozen.  I select update it says installing or waiting. The app is shaded and not able to use until I can update.  I did reset but still not updating.  What else can I do?

Thanks.  I updated my ipod touch but more importantly I had to specifically request to sync my apps.  Once I synced my apps from  my ibook, TED and other apps are highlighted back to normal. I will use fewer apps less updates to deal with.  Computers are quite a pain with all the constant updates to install.

IiPad wnot update apps that need updating I have 8.1.3 downloaded but didn't fix error. What to do

    Hi Sherrynash1,
Thank you for contributing to the Apple Support Communities.
If apps on your iPad are not updating after you've updated iOS, there are several steps you can try.
First, try the solution from this discussion thread:
App updates won't download on my iPhone, they just say waiting.
Try tapping the App, so that it changes to Paused instead of Waiting, then tap it again to resume the install.
Make sure you don't have any paused downloads in other apps either, like the App Store or iTunes Store.
Next, try signing out of the iTunes & App Store on your iPad:
Tap Settings > iTunes & App Stores.
    Tap your Apple ID.
    Tap Sign Out.
Enter your Apple ID and Password and tap Sign In.
    From:
iOS: Sign in with a different Apple ID in the iTunes Store, App Store, and iBooks Store - Apple Support
You may also want to restart your iPad before signing back in (step 4 above):
Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
    All the best,
    Jeremy

  • My Ipad will not update Apps.

When I try updating even one of the 14 apps to be updated, the update icon on the right returns each time; after the circle rotates several times.

Hi - must be a problem with either your internet - or the app store.
Make sure you're on Wi-fi, and it's connected. Swipe it on / off.
Also - go to settings > itunes & app store > press your apple id > sign off - and then sign back in, and try again :-)

  • My iPad will not update 2 of apps

My iPad will not update 2 of my apps. It shows the bar on them saying they need to load so I click on them and it says this app can not be uploaded at this time. I'm not sure what the problem is. I have tried to upload them on different types of internet and it will update all my other apps except those two.

Have you tried updating them one at a time? If that doesn't work, then update them in iTunes on the computer you sync with, delete the apps from your device, and then sync the updated ones to it via iTunes.
    Cheers,
    GB

  • I pad 1 will not update apps

My IPad 1 will not update apps.  When I attempt to update, it tells me I have no more space available and to manage my storage in settings. In settings it says I have 4.8 out of 5.0 gigs available.  So why won't the apps update?
Yes I have viewed the other threads regarding similar issues. No they did not apply to this issue.
    Ty

In settings it says I have 4.8 out of 5.0 gigs available.
I believe this is the free space you have in iCloud. How much free space on your iPad?
    Go to Settings>General>About>Available

  • Will not update apps through app store

My Ipad can not update apps through app store?

    Hi Young Steve,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
The first thing I would suggest is to sign out of your iTunes & App Store account, quit all of your open apps and restart the iPad:
Sign out of your iTunes & App Store account
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1311?viewlocale=en_US
Tap Settings > iTunes & App Stores.
    Tap your Apple ID.
    Tap Sign Out.
Close all open apps on the iPad
iOS: Force an app to close
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5137
    Restart and/or Reset the iPad
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
Before you sign back into the iTunes store, access a popular website on your iPad to confirm you are not having any issues with your Wi-Fi connection.  Follow these steps if you are having issues connectiong to the internet:
iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398?viewlocale=en_US
Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Note: This will reset all network settings including previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords.
If you are not having any issues connecting to the internet, sign back in to your iTunes Store Account and check to see if you have any incomplete downloads:
iTunes: How to resume interrupted iTunes Store downloads
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1725
If you still are unable to connect to the iTunes Store, follow these troubleshooting steps:
Can't connect to the iTunes Store
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1368
If there are apps that need to be updated, try updating one app at a time instead of all of them at once. If there is an issue with a particular app, you can delete it and redownload it.
I hope this information helps ....
    - Judy

  • My iPad will not update.  It has said "waiting" for days

My iPad will not update.  each time it says "waiting" and is installing or updating for days

Are you trying to update the iOS or install app updates?
Have you tried turning the iPad Off and then back On?
If there are multiple apps trying to download at once, only one can download at a time and the rest say "Waiting" until it is then their turn. Try this. Double tap the icon of the Waiting app, and it should resume the download.
    If that doesn't work:
    •  Log out of your iTunes store account.  Go to Settings > Store > Sign Out Then press the Home button.
    • Then press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously and don't release them when it brings up the Turn Off screen; keep holding them until the Apple logo appears.
    • After restart, the Waiting should be gone.

My iPad will not update to 5 at all. I don't even have the option of software update in settings. I've tried to update over iTunes and it doest work there either.

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily.  Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).
